Some Subetan species just cannot shake their mischievous tendencies, even in darkmatter. It seems that the (newly redone) darkmatter charlie and ghostly are having fun playing with their new... friends.

I'm not going to say the Charlie is bad, because it certainly has merits. The pose and facial expression are fabulous, but the piece as a whole does not fit with the rest of the DM revamps we have been getting lately. The shading is flat, in comparison, and the dark matters look plastic and are missing the connecting auras that the others have. Was the unfinished version of the piece uploaded or something?

The ghostly is nice. I like it.

As for the Charlie, I must say it's simply AMAZING! I believe I owe the artists a huge thank-you and apology as I was part of the crowd begging for the revamp. Don't listen to the people who say its outdated, because there are people (like me ^^) who love it. Its chibi and cute, which I'm sure it's trying not to be. In a way, it looks like the Cheshire cat.

Next, I'd like to see a DM torrey.

The charlie is cute, but like a lot of people have pointed out, it looks like a version we should have seen long ago. It doesn't fit as much with the newer DM pets.

I think the ghostly is a vast improvement, and is very well done. I like red mouth, the purple at the bottom edge, and overall the more complex shading and details make it more three dimensional and animated.

Like some of the others here, the Charlie isn't quite at the same level. I actually was confused as to whether it was a tail or one of its wings on its back and had to refer to an older version for clarification. It seems disproportionate, kind of chibified, and the way the dark matter isn't connected is inconsistent with the rest of the recent DM revamps.

The Darkmatter on the Ghostly's head honestly bugs the heck outta me. This one sorta looks like someone was adding a darkmatter on top of the ghostly's head but forgot to do half of it. It just feels unnatural.

..Wow, a Charlie, sometimes it feels like they barely exists. I agree, though, it's missing the connecting aura, and looks Chibified. The tail looks like it should be pushed a bit farther back, and actually in general the Charlie looks plastic. A few, tiny tufts of fur in the shading wouldn't hurt.

O.o Gosh, it's a Charlie. I forgot such a species existed. I don't recall seeing any new colours of it while I was here... meaning, for almost 1,5 years! Not bad looking, but still, the Ghostly definitely looks better. I don't know why. Maybe its shading is more detailed. I know there are different styles of drawing and colouring, but... yeah, that must be it. ^^;

The charlie is my favorite Subeta pet, but this revamp doesn't tickle my fancy at all. The head seems too large for the body, the right wing is oddly placed & confuses me & I guess there just isn't enough shading to make it pop enough, it looks very flat. I DO however, like the expression & posing of the Charlie.

Love the Ghostly! Especially the DM on its head. And the little DM pieces are, as always, lovely and whimsical. I do agree that the Charlie's head looks oddly too big for its body, though -- first thing I noticed looking at the post.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I love both. x3 Very much so. But to me, the charlies head seems a little... big. o.o It's great and wonderful art, but the head seems a little too big for the poor dears body.... Could just be the way it's facing though. Either way, it's a wonderful addition to the site. :3 Thank you for working so hard artists!

-kun When has an artist EVER released a pet because people were begging for it? Usually people begging for it gets the artists ticked off and they tell us that they'll be pushing the release of that pet back.

(hope I spelled it right D; ipods are pains) And that it totally understandable. I just think there's a fine line between criticism that may not be positive but helps and criticism that is entirely unneeded. Things like it seems rushed it fine! But things like shortaxel said are the problem... know what I mean?

And silouette(again sorry for spelling. My iPod doesnt let me see that far up XD) Exactly my point my friend.

I believe Incondite is trying to point that out. If there is something about a piece of art you don't like, use constructive criticism, don't just say you don't like it and leave.

, well, some people are begging for certain pets to be released soon. The artist may have been trying to fill that request, or life got in the way of focusing solely on the pets revamp.

The thing is, I don't think the artist worked hard on this one. I'm not meaning to be rude or anything, but it looks rushed to me. It could have used more work before it got released. :/

I agree partially with Incondite, but having to sugarcoat an opinion isn't what everyone's going to do. There will be people more blunt than others.

But having that said, it's not an open invitation to ungrateful brats who doesn't know what bloody constructive criticism is.

, it is a revamp, I can promise. The original was standing upright, just like a common Charlie, but had the darkmatter colors and orbs. This is a great improvement from it.

I'd also refrain from insulting the artist and their work. They do this for us to choose the pet we like, not to force you to love it.

Incondite, I agree. Stating a reason why rather than that you just dislike it is far more appealing. But it is not necessary to list why. But I also agree that are more "agreeable" ways to tell someone you like a piece of artwork. ^^; I personally don't say anything if I don't like something, and offer a idea as to what has thrown me off.

Now I'm just getting tired and unable to form a correct sentence in my head.

Alright, alright. Like you said, we all have opinions. And I was stating mine. I'm quite happy with the results. But some people only make matters worse. Please realize this is not directed at everyone who doesnt like it. Just at those with not a good way with words.
