Some Subetan species just cannot shake their mischievous tendencies, even in darkmatter. It seems that the (newly redone) darkmatter charlie and ghostly are having fun playing with their new... friends.

are you sure that charlie is the revamped version? because it really doesn't look like a revamp at ALL. the body looks fine, but the head looks really REALLY off. the wings also look incredibly stupid. plus, the shading is BEYOND flat. i'm not a fan, at all. plus, wtf is with the aura and darkmatter?! they make the pet look VERY old. there's so 'sticky/bouncy' effect or interesting faces on them like with the other new revamps. PLEASE don't churn out any more beyond off-par pets just so they'll be revamped. its stupid and pointless. XP

It's our right to dislike the art. There's nothing mean about saying "I don't like it", it's an opinion. We're allowed to have them and so are you. I wouldn't care if someone told me they disliked my art. They are welcome to their opinion. And if they were kind enough to tell me why and they had a legitimate complaint (as I feel we do), I would even be grateful.

Ritsu I totally understand. But some people ought to try and rephrase suggestions, correct? A kinder approach is much appreciated over "I dont like it", am I right? n_n I just think some people should appreciate what they get. Suggestions are great. But adding the "dislike" statement doesnt really motivate an artist. If someone tells me they dislike my art I'd be pretty upset. just stating my opinion like everyone else.

Incondite, I do not believe all were "destructive criticizers". We were merely pointing out the fact that the Charlies revamp seems a little odd and/or missing somethings the others revamps have. Some have even pointed out what they think is missing or wrong so that if the artist had forgotten or felt like it, they could check it out.

I'm not a huge fan of the Charlie but it is a wonderful pet and deserved the beautiful revamp it got.

I completely agree with you Incondite. I love the Charlie and the Ghostly, they are both amazing as is every pet off here.

Hmmpf. People these days. Can't be happy if given the world. I,personally,am a HUGE fan of charlies. No matter the shape, colour or size, the Charlie is held dearest to my teenage heart. Its so imperfect...so flawed... But an image to my inspiration. I understand not EVERYONE likes charlies. That's fine. But how often do you EVER see a Charlie revamp? Show of hands to see any guesses? And now I'm kinda seeing why charlies never get revamped... Here a BEAUTIFUL Charlie is handed to you on a silver platter and you just smack away the hand who worked so hard to make it for you. I've waited for my beloved Charlie to get attention. I mean I spring out of bed and danced when I saw this new revamp(and trust me,it takes ALOT of energy for the sick to dance XD)

Things said like the destructive criticizers below have said are probably the reason why charlies are not so popular. Respect what you get. Not everyone gets there way. Dont shoot down the artist or the pet. I applaud both. THANK you for this lovely revamp! I look foreward to more DM revamps and new charlies as well.

Firstly, the new ghostly looks great! Lovely job on that. The Charlie however, looks off to me as well. As many have said already, the anatomy is a wee bit wonky in my opinion. I don't mind the size of the head if the entire species is getting a revamp, but if not then I don't really think it's very consistent with the other Charlies. Or if it's just a matter of perspective, then ok fine, but it's the hind legs and body position that throw me off. It seems like the body should be facing more straight-on as opposed to that 45 degree side view. Maybe this is just me, but that angle doesn't make sense with the rest of the pose. Or maybe it's just the positioning of the legs. I have to say though, I do love the expression on the charlie's face!

The anatomy of the Charlie looks wrong. Its a great piece of art, and I really like how its posed, and the wings are fantastic, but, it's head is just so...big.

I know I'm going to get chewed out for this (because if you don't profess your undying love for art here you get your ass flamed), but I really think the charlie could've used a bit more work before it was released. The head is almost as big as the rest of the body, wings included, the shading is... well, not what I've come to expect from revamps lately. The aura looks like the old style DM pets, not at all consistent with the new way the aura seems to be drawn and the Dark matter are boring. The big one he's holding looks flat or squished or something and his little fang is in the wrong place.

The ghostly, on the other hand, is absolutely wonderful. I think the stamp on its head looks weird, but the rest is great.

The Ghostly is nice, though the Darkmatter on its head is a bit distracting. I think I would prefer the crossbones and skull from the standard Ghostly... With that being said, the pose, shading, and everything else is spectacular!

The Charlie, however, looks a bit odd to me. I think it's because the head looks so large compared to the body, which makes the pet look "younger" than it should. Ookami pretty much summed up what I was planning to say.

I think a layer was forgotten on the Charlie. Someone else pointed out the double layer purple and "attachments" for the darkmatter.

Other wise epic job. I love it pose. The wings are awesome. :3

Ookami took the words right out of my mouth about the Charlie. The Ghostly, on the other hand, came out gracefully. I love how the Dark Matter was implemented.

This Ghostly is total love. It's actually really well done and everything looks right on it.

I'm in fact amazed to see such a range of expression on a pet that does not have eyes. (Compare Bloodred to Hydrus, to Glade, to Glacier and to the revamped Dark Matter.)

It's awesome, one of my favoritest DM revamps.

I don't usually comment on these things, but this time I wanted to say something (constructive!). The Charlie does not look like it's on par with the usual fare that I know you guys try to keep up. It's a beautiful piece of art, lemme tell you, but as others have mentioned, the perspective doesn't quite work. The head ends up looking a bit too large and chibi-ish, and the shading is considerably flatter than one would expect in a revamp. Also, the anatomy could use a wee bit of work (specifically the wings, back legs, and waist/stomach). I'm not even a Charlie fan, but I just wanted to kind of add my two cents in because it strikes me as so out of place. Other than that, it's a VAST improvement over the old and kudos to the artist for his/her hard work!

I had an old Dark Matter Ghostly. I really loved it because Of was so fond of the artist, however when the Dark Matter Fester was finally revamped I just had to have one. Any of the old school Subeta players know Tracy loves her some Festers. Anyway I like both these revamps. I'll be so happy when we have all pets all colors. I know you artists are working hard. Kudos to you all. Love, Tracy

RIP my beloved Darkmatter Charlie. I had my fingers crossed all week that you would stay off the re-drawers hit list, but it was not to be. For many years you stood proud and tall, the epitome of pure evil and the perfect match for the Snowflaik minion. Now you've been reduced to a frolicking chibi kitten possessed not by dark matter, but pink matter. So silly looking that even Snowflaik would have nothing to do with you now. I can only hope that they will leave your brother-in-arms, the dark matter Magnus, alone. I'll miss ya buddy, god bless. sniff

The Charlie is lacking the 'sticky' DM effect that most other recent DM pets have. The head is also a bit on the large side, and I think stiffer wings would look better. The pose is nice though, and I love its crafty grin (:
