While it's obvious the artist was going for a certain perspective in the Charlie, I don't... think it really worked, unfortunately. The head just looks disproportionately large instead of up close. ): The overall look is adorable, but the perspective issue really calls my attention away.
There's nothing to critique. The art is fabulous, I just don't like it at all. x)

While I understand what the artist was trying to do with perspective on the charlie, it just...doesn't work for me, I'm sorry. The head is just too large, I think. But other than that, they are both amazing. 
And I love the face on the ghostly.

WHAT ANATOMY? The Ghostly is pretty much arms, a head, mouth, and flowing cloth. It looks fine. And as for the Charlie- The artist was obviously perspective for the head. Notice how the body is further away? It's a great pose, I think it's one of the best Charlies drawn imo.

I have to say, the Charlie style really does not look like much of an update (at least not a large enough one to be consistent with other styles). The shading is very simplistic with little fur detail, and the anatomy seems really wonky. The hind legs are very-blobish, and even from that angle I think they'd be defined more? The head is also pretty huge, even for...a big head xD I hope I said that tactfully enough, if not I apologize x-x
I really love the Ghostly though, and how he's sort of melding the dark-matter c:

I really love to see a new charlie revamp, but I have to support the users who've said that it's looking rather strange. I mean the head is as big as the rest of it's body. Compared to my galactic charlie it really looks like a super deformed version of a normal charlie, more like a chibi. I really like the pose and face though, but the anatomy just doesn't seem to fit the visual constancy of this species.

Cry about it guys. :| The artists work hard to revamp pets and keep the site looking fresh and up-to-date, and it looks fabulous. If you don't like it, use an overlay instead of bothering everyone else and insulting the artist.
