Oh god I am in LOVE with this revamp, excellent job to the artists once again, this is seriously amazing D;, it actually looks like the pet it's suppose to represent now, I hated that cartoony look, great job toning down the cuteness, it's still adorable but looks like a more serious choice for a pet now. Most people have already pointed out the issue with the middle gem on the shell, tis my only complaint, otherwise I'm probably going to get one once it comes out ^^

Oh yeah.
I have only one issue with it. The gem in the very midst. It it too... sharp or something, I can't tell. I stare at it all the time, while I am supposed to look at the face

I don't really like the revamp. The current one is cuter, and looks more sort of babyish, and I prefer it. There's nothing perticularly about this which makes me want this one.
I do like the name change though.

Oh and could you answer a question for me Keshi? Do you (and other staff artists) like or resent the criticism that users post in the comments? Like do y'all actually take it into consideration and try to improve the, or would you rather us just vote and not comment? I mean I can understand not wanting us to rush you to make stuff like you said a few posts before, but how do you feel about our criticism? Are there just too many people to please for it to be worth it?
(I read other people's comments about criticism and whether we should leave it or not, but I thought a staff artist's opinion might be a bit more helpful...)
Anyways... I'd also like to say that I love the way the gems are set. They look much more realistic and overall it looks much less cartoony. And I'm glad it's not all cutesy. I would much rather have good artwork than cute pictures. XD

I can't get all Special Colours done before release, are you crazy XD
There are about 15 Special Colours, that would take months or more. I don't sit at the computer drawing 14/7, I still have a life, school and such.
You will have to wait till I have time to do the special colours, but that does not mean I am going to abandon this for a few months and then decide to do a special colour.
Anyway, I still have to do all the recolours for this. Which may take some time.
I feel as though some of you users need a bit more patience when it comes to pets. Us artists can not draw everything at your demand by a certain time.

Please don't make it cuter, it's great the way it is. There are so many cute Pets on Subeta that Chelon would be more special if it would stay like that than it would become Sweet Pet again. I never liked the oh so happy expression on the Turdle anyways.

Absolutely lovely! The only thing I do not love about it is, again, the eye color has been changed, and as I have said before in numerous revamp threads...some people do choose a pet based on existing colors, even for Common. But that is a small detail and the rest of it is utterly fantastic!
I'm not crazy about the texture of the head and fins but I like the shell.

I never was crazy about the turdles but the chelon I'm seriously considering getting one. I may or may not but I am considering it and I definately really like it. I didn't like the shell at first but it grew on me fast. Great job to whomever did the revamp.
I'm really impressed with this new Chelon. It looks much more realistic and in keeping with the newer pets and revamps, and we can actually tell that there are gems on his(?) back. I also absolutely love the expression on his face, he's so cute and not just in a chibi-blob sort of way like the old one. Kudos to the artist.
This is just gorgeous. I never considered having a turdle as a pet but I think I'm going to do some rearranging and add a Chelon. Excellent job!
Oh wow. I always loved turdles (Chelons?), but they desperatly needed a revamp. I love this one so much. I can't see anything wrong with it. If this goes through I might consider getting one
Wow! Wow, wow, wow! Now this is an amazing revamp! I'm really glad to see some of the extreme cuteness being removed, although i have a bad feeling that may change before the final release.. Either way, this new design looks absolutely stunning! Hopefully if there are anymore changes made they will be very minor ones.

I'm pretty sure if the artists/staff didn't want people commenting on the art, they would disable the comments. If I recall correctly, it's been done before when things got out of hand.

The angle feels kinda awkward though. I think a different point of view could do the pet more justice...
And the neck in this seems too big. Maybe turtles are just like that though. shrug I think overall it would look better if the shell was bigger... That's the coolest part of the pet anyways so I think it'd be nice if it was larger.

Um...that's how artists get better, is by getting feedback from others (usually other artists, but not necessarily so). No matter how perfect you think an artist already is, there's always room for improvement and growth. Without critique, artists stagnate. Telling us to stop commenting is not only rude, but a bad, BAD idea.
How we feel about the work doesn't necessarily reflect what we think of the artist. Just because someone may not exactly like how a certain drawing looks, that does NOT by default mean that that person doesn't like the artist, or doesn't think the artist has talent, or thinks that the artist didn't work hard on it.
In short, we're all trying to help her out here, not tear her down. (I assume. And I'm sorry for assuming =p) And by the way, I voted for the revamp before I left any comments. Is it really so bad to take the time to explain why I voted the way I did, rather than just click a button and be done with it? Think about it.
Yeah, I'm with StrixMoonwing. Guys, these artists work really hard on these things. Constructive criticism is great and all, but either vote for the revamp or don't. Don't leave critical comments to the post. =) They're unlikely to be heeded anyway.
Nice! The poor Turdle (now Chelon) desperately needed a revamp! I see that they named it after the Archelon - the ancient giant sea turtle of the Age of Dinosaurs!
Now, if only you could work on the Torrey, Hipposaru, or Hikei...I'll be looking forward to more revamps!
P.S. - Honestly, I'm sick or all you artists posting your suggestions about how to make it better, just because you don't like the way it looks, or because you don't think it looks "correct". The official Subeta artists work really hard, and in my opinion, the designs look good enough already - they don't need any more tweaking! Besides, the time that would be used to satisfy all of your complaints could be better used for, say, revamping other pet species in desperate need of revamps, too!

Nice over all. The only suggestions I can give is to fix the shell, since with the way it is positioned in comparison to the head. It makes it look sort of detached.... and the head looks pretty big for the rest of it... Besides that, I like how the gems are sunken in. Good job all around.

As far as critictism goes...something bugs me about the gems on it's back. Though I don't know exactly what it is. Bleh but whatever I welcome the revamp with open arms regardless. Maybe now this little turtle will get some fans X3
I'm not that fond of this revamp, the art just does nothing for me. I think it's the addition of the darker scales on the flippers and head and the fact that the eyes seem smaller in proportion to the head, taking away much of the innocence of the current design.
I actually kinda like this one. :3 The gems could be a little bigger in my opinion...or more innocent looking... :/ More like the old gems.
