Ok, this is brilliant Rah. You've really given this one your all, and the result is perfect!

That white line is once thing I'd hate to see go, and Rah has done wonderfully to put it on this new one. The white line is typical to the old Canis, and it's original.

The paws are so cute and big, the tail is so wonderfully poofy, and I luff that little tooth! It's definately come A LONG way, and I think you should be really proud of what you've done Rah. Updating one of the site's most loved pets was never going to be easy, but you've done great

Oooh... such fluffy and adorably big paws! :3 They remind me of how I draw paws, and I LOVE how that back leg is lifted. It makes it look like it's so happy to see you that it's walking towards you. xD Really great job, Rah! The Kanis has DEFINETELY come a long way from this... :O

But I don't know if I should find this slightly odd or not, but I actually liked the second-to-last revamp that was attempted. It just appealed to me more, and it REALLY reminded me of MysticCookie's style and the Angelic Kanis. Comparing the two, I wish the first revamp went through. The first one's kinda like "Hey! Would you like to join me for some tea 'n' cookies?" xD I think the blues in the mane of the other one made it stand out a little more too. But still, even if this one went through, it's a beatiful picture for the Kanis. n_n

Man, I just start using this website and you're already going to change the only pet I actually like? Don't go and do that. The new one is.. off. I completely dislike the look.

The ears look like inflated balloons, the face expression is subpar and lifeless [The old one is far better, the face is why I fell in love with that pet], the raised paw looks awkward [why is it raised? The other at least looked like it was struting, this one looks like it's frozen in place out in a blizzard and slowly dying.], and that blotch of white over the eye is extremly distracting. O_o;

If you asked me, I'd suggest trying to take a look at the old pet. Realise what gives it it's life and personality and try to perfect upon that instead of just redrawing the pet into a lifeless picture. :/ Frankly, just redraw the same exact pose as the old one and give it obvious depth and It will look 10,000 times better than this one.

And Don't touch the chibi one... Please!! I was really considering making my Stardust-sama into a Chibi.

i really dislike the way the ears are drawn, and the colour used for the default kanis. also, no tuft of hair on the head (or a different-looking one) would improve the image a lot, as would changing the tail and making BOTH EYES THE SAME SIZE.

Right. I'm not going to vote this round, because I really can't decide. Not for the Common one. But I think the BR, GY, and Angelic Canises (Kanises?) should be kept, because they really have good posing and "character". But please change the Chibi. It just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the Chibis. I can't believe I'm saying this too, but I don't like the Spectrum one either. (Or maybe I just don't like the ears-down pose.)

Its nice, but I realy like the old one better. I love the big paws (: I wish we could keep that bit of the canis that same, I adore it. And the shading, hm, I don't know why, but the shaidng of the new Canis kinda bothers me. But I don't have a Canis anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter much. I was kinda hoping to turn Daremi into a Reborn Canis, but there are other equally nice options avalible. While I still like the old one, the artist did a fine job with the new one.

I think that it's hilarious that everyone is commenting about the tooth, and it's actually barely noticeable.

I have a Canis, and I am absolutely in love with the new version. <3 I love everything about it, and I never noticed anything wrong that the other people are pointing out :3 I think it's fine the way it is.

I am interested to see what the re-vamp of the Chibi Canis would be ^-^

Oh, and please understand, I meant that the lineart on some redraws was not to my liking, and was not trying to imply that the redraws have not been worth being done, by ANY means whatsoever. Just wanted to clear that up in case anyone thinks I'm being too harsh. Apologies if I have offended anyone. nods And I just got an idea about that tooth...Rah, is it a 'rabbit' tooth or a canine tooth? honestly, I wonder if a couple of 'fangs' wouldn't really add to the pet on the whole...what do you think? (heheheheh....BUNNICULA!)
Anyway, if I sound ridiculous, just ignore me...not enough sleep does that. 0.o;

Oh Rah! cries Not the Chibi, PLEASE! 0.o; It's so adorable and I was going to change one of my pets to it if I could get up the sP! It has an originality to it that matches the originality of the GY Canis and I would hate to see that lost! Can you and the staff please reconsider that redraw? prays The angelic doesn't conform to any other style of Canis, and you said that one won't be changed.

Also, although I agree that lineart can be manipulated to be better than the original, I know you will be VERY careful with it, because the only pet I've seen that had it's lineart redrawn that didn't spoil it, I think, was the Chibi Kerubi. I love the GY Canis as it is and it would be sad if it changed much, even in lineart. But I know you will do an excellent job, no matter what the circumstances. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and looking forward to what you come up with. BTW, I don't see any 'ear lump' on the redraw...it's form simply gives the ear a silky, floppy texture that I think is essential to the charm of the Canis. I have several plush bunnies at home, and what I love the best about them is their ears, the length, the 'floppiness', the way I can fold them around my fingers when I hold them and use them to 'hide' their eyes...(my kids and I used to play peekaboo with those ears when they were little. I know, waxing OT...sowwy!) I do think the chest fur could be even floofeh-er...if possible? I'd caution the tooth position...we don't want him to look like Bugs, do we? ^^ I think it looks fine where it is.

If there really is a consideration of updating the GY kanis' line art (that's the fixing of the outlines, right?), I hope the dark circles around it's eyes stay the same! Because, it gives his face that evil, yet deceivingly sweet look, plus it really helps with the spooky deadness. AND it really brings out that surreal-like blue color of the eyes. ^o^
Though I don't personally see anything wrong with the outlines, if that's all that will be changed, then all this terrible gut-clenching worry will finally cease XD

It's an awesome drawing.

But I hate it.

NOT BECAUSE OF THE ART. The art is fine, it's just not my Canis

-__- If there is any way to give people a choice? I mean, like I would pay 5 bucks to keep my Canis the old design. Because I love the dorky happy look on his face.

The new design is very sweet and I love alot about it like the took and the more dynamic pose.

But I will die if Lickity looks like that because he's a dork and needs the wonderful dorky old canis pose I love so much.

Note to the artist: I think you did and excellent job

That would be the "lump in the ear" that everyone's talking about, Rah. It's slightly bothersome.

Adakie, Akele, and I all agree that the white outline on the chest fur is just a bit odd. 0_o It looks outlined, not shaded. Perhaps if it weren't white, but maybe a really, really light shade of blue.

And I do agree that it's seemed to have lost some life. But it's still a very nice re-vamp. I'm still a fan of the old one though .. but hey, I don't have a Canis, so. (X

This one is better. I really like the less-fat legs. I was compatring and saw that the ears had more shape. The whole thing has more shading. This may sound stupid, but I dont really like the tooth. Although its barley visible. I still wouldnt adopt this pet though, mainly because I have 5 already, and its not my type. Im sure new members, who havent seen the original, will snatch it up real quick! Anyway, I like it its better than the original, thats for sure!!! Keep it up! ^.^'

I prefer the new one. I really like the body shape (-including- the rounder back leg) and the shading. The face is cuter too.

Just fantastic! This is everything that the new Kanis should be. The little tooth is adorable :3 However, Im not sure that it would look right centered... I love it just the way it is.

I absolutely adore how furry you made the chest, but I just wonder if it would look better if the furry part carried on down between the Kanis front legs.

The pose is perfect. It has a beautifully cheerful disposition, with his little paw lifted up. He is just brimming with Kanis personality!

This will be such a wonderful remake. If I didn't have enough pets, with the 6 I already have, I would adopt one now, in anticipation of this remake. :3

You make the old Canis look far inferior. In comparison, it is plain to see how outdated and flat the old one is. Wonderful. It really is. You have done the Kanis proud xD

Ok. There are a LOT of very conflicting crits here xD So i'm going to pick out the ones that seem to stand out the most.

a) I'm keeping the tooth - I can't move on that now, but a few people are saying it looks like one tooth? Or that it's too far to one side? I'll try and fix that to make it look more central

b)The lump in the ear - I'm actually not totally sure what you're talking about, but I'll try and fix what I think this is :p

Hmm. I don't think GY will be revamped, as personally it's my favourite pet on the site :p and I know how popular it is. But I do hope you agree that the lineart could do with an update? As to the chibi Kanis. That WILL be redrawn. Currently, it does not match this one at all. I hope you'll like the new one

The new one looks great, and by the response in the poll everyone else seems to think so too. Much of the pet has been kept the same with only slight differences which make it look all the better.

I DO like the old Canis, but this is quite nice.

THANK YOU that the Angelic will not be revamped...but how about the GY and the Chibi? Can we leave them the way they are too, PLEASE??

Voted for old. Gosh... it seems unfair to criticize when you haven't put the work that the artists do into the pets. This one is better than the last attempt at a new canis, so cheers on that... HOWEVER. It still has the look of "neither here nor there" to me. For one thing, the front legs should be longer, and the front feet larger. I think also that the chest needs to slope upward as it reaches the hindquarters, such as the Telenine's does. Just better proportions.

I think it's a great try, and I love the expression in it's eyes and the more 3-D improvement - buuuut he's a bit dispoportioned and that bugs me a little. His ears are fantastic and his head is a bit small, and his front paw looks like if he put it down it would he shorter than the rest. Lovely in many ways, though. That tail is just too cute..

I know that the artists put a lot of work into these revamps, but I do not like this at all. The shading looks really...I believe someone called it plasticy? That works. The old Canis looks really ALIVE and happy and this one basically just lost that. It looks like it got sent to the taxidermist. I'm gonna go with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" here, because I don't think the Canis needs much improvement. However, there are a few other pets in need of serious makeovers.

Everything here voices my thoughts exactly. I know the artists try hard to redraw the pets, and usually I'm in favour of newer ones, but this new Canis doesn't really sit well with me. I suppose I'm just a bigger fan of the older one. >.>

I think that may be true with some voters, Kurotsuki, but the last redraw did not win. And other revamps have failed too, so it's not sheer 'shiny and new' that will win.

Seems to me that the older canis was more of a cartoon, and this one just seems to have lost some life. Kind of like a dog that's grown up a bit. shrug

This is a bit of a whine... but, the polls aren't exactly... fair. Some people only vote for the redraws because they're new and shiny or cute.

It's very well done. I just wish there was a rabbit pet that didn't look so cutsey. A pet that looked like a hare is what I've been hoping for to be exact. For a cute cartoon-like bunny, it's perfect.

yeah i can undersytand the complaint it looks like its made of rubber and not critter, but between the two, i like this one much more! it captures the canis fromt he older pic, but adds more detail and its own unique spunk >.<

I love the new Canis! It really does look more like a bunny, and I adore bunnies.

And in response to another comment, the nose doesn't look at all like a real rabbit's nose -- I have three of them. Their noses are little slits on either side shaped into a wide "V". The width and height of the V depends on the size of the rabbit's head and shape of its face, some being more angular and some being more like a very wide U than a V. XD
