hum. i shall be voting for the new one. because it's art is nicer. and the shading is nicer. but i agree. the same style, but as a more mythical, magical pose. like the original kora had would be MUCH more loved, i think.

I like the new one. But, it lacks the charm the old had. If the kora is revamped, could you please look like it is levitating and little more mystical. That was the reason I fell in love with the koras. So for the poll I vote old.

I think the new one is adorable. The shading is brilliant, the anatomy is wonderful, and OMG! It has a mouth! xD

There's no need to bash it. If you don't like it, try and suggest ways in which you think it could be improved. Saying it's horrible isn't going to help the artist.

I think that the new Kora is definately better than the older one. The lineart on the old one needed updating, around the ears and the tails mostly. And the shading on the new one is amazing! I especially like that on the new one, the diamond has more of a shimmer to it

It just needs..to float instead of stand perfectly. Just a bit of tweaking on the pose so it's sorta like the current one, and I think that it would be positootly amazing. <333

scritches head usually I'm all for the new ones but there's something about this one's head (specifically the eyes and maw) that makes me tilt my head.

The art is lovely, the inking is great and the coloring and shading beat the old one, but that little something about the eyes got me to vote for old, x0x sorreh! I think that the head should perhaps be posed tilted downward so that the mouth vanishes completely from view, and it's easy should be... rounder, wider instead of taller n.n;

This one actually looks a lot more real than the current version does and I admire that, but I honestly cannot bring myself to like the pose. I also think the mouth should be a big wider though I do admit that it does add a bit more realism to it to have the mouth smaller.

The shading and the overall porportions are much more what I would imagine the kora to be though, but I just cannot bring myself to like the pose.

I think its adorable! (I voted for the new one, duh.) I think I'll turn my Demi into one if that's the new look. This Kora looks WAY better than the old one. I mean, I don't even like the old one!

Another thing, I love the shading and colors. It looks so life-like! The sparkle in its eyes is simply gorgeous!

Well...I do like this one, but something about it bugs me. I'm not entirely sure.
I'm not saying I don't like it, 'cause I do.
I do LOVE how it has the mouth now, it looks very nice and more real. In fact, I'm starting to wish I had voted for the new one instead.

Okay, people, why not say more constructive stuff other than 'it lacks it's mythical nature!' or 'it has no personality now!'. It helps to critique the art itself, not the whole emotional aspect.

That's why you create a personality for your pet. It doesn't matter what species, you can tweak the design to what you want. Right? Many people on this site do it: they change things from the default.

Use your imagination. If it's not like you want it, make it more mystical yourself. But the default image is a lot cleaner, a lot smoother lineart and coloring-wise, it has better proportions now, and it's generally updated to what Subeta-style has now become.

More on the mouth. Now it actually has something to /breathe/ with. Even without a mouth it looks somewhat stationary and neutral, doesn't it? But the mouth adds something to the design that updates it better. It looks a little more real, like it could honestly be an animal instead of a chibi poof like it was before. Granted, if it was the Chibi color, then it would be fine, but as the default image, it works.

Don't put the artist down for working so hard on it. If someone can do better, step forward, redline it, or come up with a more constructive solution, like a few people here have already done.

But yeh, it does, this new kora has lost all it's charm an spiff, I was begginging to realy want a kora, I was going to get one too, but now I'm glad, because I wouldn't want to be stuck with that poor thing, it's just.. bland.. pokes

The pose makes it look kind of lifeless somehow. It's just so stationary and almost free of personality (the other one looked myserious/cute). Nice shading and all, but there's something about the new one that really bothers me.

I guess it's like a fox that's beautiful and graceful and elegant...And then it stops and looks at you a moment before moving on. Time stands still.

Only this pose caught that a bit too much. =/

To the people who are whining about how 'ugly' it is: quit it, would you? A real person drew this and if you dislike it, note for the old one and then state your opinion nicely. "It's ugly!" isn't nice, it's rude and is probably hurting the artist's feelings.

That said, I like it! I really, really like it. I think it looks more majestic this way. The cutesy feel really isn't doing it for me anymore, and this looks nice.

I dont dislike this new revamp... But I dont see what is wrong with the old one to be honest. Perhaps if the lineart is tweaked a little, that would be enough. But the old kora isnt unlike the rest of the Subeta art if ya know what Im saying.

This new one definately has a static, unreal feel to it. The shading is wonderful and should be admired tremendously. However, it looks unhappy... and I never saw koras as an unhappy Subetapet before. I like what Hanako did to the face... And I don't know whether it is just the pose but I never realised how BIG a kora's ears are...

Don't get me wrong I DO like this drawing of the kora, but it isn't as good as the original.

Hanako... that redline basically solves every issue I have with the revamp (aside from the static pose but even that I'd forgive if the tweaks you suggest were implemented). It's only very, very minor things, in fact your redline shows some lines are purely a few pixels out, but that's the difference between 'not at all bad but seems a little too different to the mood of the original' and 'an actual improvement'.

I don't really think there's anything wrong with the revamp, its just... the mouth. I don't know why, but it detracts from the whole 'Kora' look.
And I do have to agree that the pose seems more... static.

I'd even settle for the compromise Hanako offered. The mouthless, static, cool-shading Kora.

Otherwise, I still think the artist did a good job (but I still voted for the old).

eww the new one looks ugly. it doesnt have anything going for it. i doesnt have personality and feel to it. no offense to the artist who is Waffles by the way. By the signs of the comments here you have credibility. i dont think you got it on the head this time around....i like the OLDER one better. it has personality and feel to it. i can say that the old is mysterious, shy, and maybe even a stretch of imagination that its an evil experiment under a disguise and is planning subeta-world domination through making everybody fall in love with it's demure. The new one is not so much of that. its very rounded and very normal looking. The head is fine but still not up to the wuality of the older one. the body is so cliche. such a norm. it could be attached to a dog or maybe even a cat and you wouldnt know its a kora. The older one for sure you'll know the body is owned bya kora. The tail is not so sharp either. It does not give that magical mysterious wavy feel that the older kora's tail contribute to the whole image of the older one. This one just doesnt cut it out for me. Its not just par not only to the quality of design of the older kora but also the personality and vibes it gives off.

LOLZ...okay, call me crazy...the more I look at it the more I like it. And I can't stand to see Waffles' art getting bashed so terribly. sniffle I realize that we all love the old kora...but please, people...a little compassion.

Aw, it looks so cuuute <3 I would adopt a Kora if this revamp went through. I didn't really like how the old one was just... floating there ; I think it looks better with its feet on the ground. Plus the old one looks too flat to me. No offense to the old artist ^^

I voted old. I don't see any real reason for the revamp. The new pose is odd, the coloring seems almost washed out, and personally, I prefered the mouthlessness.

With no offense to the artist that attempted a revamp, this is truly hideous and I'd be seriously offended if my two Kora babies turned into that ... thing.

I've got one Angelic and one Darkmatter Kora, both of which required real, hard-earned cash to get, and yeah. I'd be super-angry.

see,now Hanako got the idea.she made the face a bit squishier that makes the kora so cute.but id still say that you should give it a more...whimsical pose like the old one.just raise the legs and tilt it forward a bit.i know,i know,easier said than done.just a suggestion

As I posted in the forums, I'm not a big fan of this current evolution of the kora, The legs seem too long, the neck seems creepy, and as many have said, the pose and overall look just seems to drop all of the character of the pet. I voted old, but hopeing for a line/shading revamp, without totally changing the pet.

I do love the new one. It's shading is gorgeous and the lineart is amazing! I did vote for the old one because there are a few things that do need a little touching up :3 I think one thing that is being brought up most is that the pose is very static. The old Kora had a whimsical feel to it and gave the Kora it's personality. I know that Subeta is trying to make the basic pets have a more neutral feel for RPers but if they all look so static they start to all feel the same. Now back to the Kora. There are only some tiny touch ups that I can see mostly located around the face. Redline provided x3

The redline should speak for itself :3 If you do need any clarifiction or just want to scream at me feel free x3 This is no way meant to offend anyone because I truly do love the new Koras shading so much!

I just want the rest of the colors to come out. -spazzes- I agree with everyone that the shading is amazing, but to me, its definitely straying from the style of the kora that I've always loved. If this comes into effect, I'll most definitely be elixiring Shiai into something else till the special colors come out.

I voted for the old one. It looks so much cuter. This one looks hypnotized. The ears are tangled with the tails, and although I do give it merit for anatomy, it's just got more bad points than good. Seriously. What's wrong with having no mouths? It never bothered the Swampies did it?

Also Saga, look at the colors for Angelic, Chibi, and Graveyard for the Kora, they have mouths, THAT was what I was talking about.

I know that the Kumos and Montre were redrawn, Saga, I meant that the pets that haven't been redrawn yet. Also, don't forget that as the years go by, I expect the same process to happen again with all the pets.

Oooo, I forgot about that T-shirt design... that would be a cool new Kora pose o.o Or just the current pose with touched-up lineart and shading, of course...

And I have to say I can't really see the problem with the Kora lacking a mouth in the current pose. Just because it's not drawn doesn't mean it's not there; that's clear to see if you look at some of the other Kora colors. It's just one cartoon drawing style. Look at Peanuts, one of the most famous cartoons ever - those characters weren't always drawn with mouths, but you knew they were there

Anyway, can't think of anything else to contribute that everyone else hasn't already... so I'm finished. Again. For now. >.>

Mizumo, the Kumos and Montre were just redrawn, and neither of them were given mouths with their redraw. o-O Not all of the newer pets have them.

The only problem with it for me, is that the head looks too humanish.. Too small and stuff. Maybe if it were bigger and closer to the ground and didnt have that mouth xD I dont know. Im voting old this time

The art looks beautiful, but I also think the pose is kinda plain. If we could get this art with a more 'mystical' pose I'd totally consider getting a Kora for myself :3
