Hrm, I think the main problem with this is the lack of chibiness here... the old Kora had MUCH lower eyes and that suited it much better. The face of this version just doesn't look nearly as nice as the old version - please remove the visible mouth and lower the face somewhat? And the pose is far too static. Sorry, don't like this at all.

I still say that IF the Kora gets revamped, it should be in a "floating" position, as that was rather important for the Kora - it hinted at it's awesome powerful psychic abilities that allowed it to "levitate"... Or something similar... It made it seem that Koras were mystical beings - and the revamp makes it just look like some wierd "distant" cat creature.

I'm gonna have to agree. The old Kora is fine as it is in my opinion. It's not like the drawing of the old Kora has icky lines or bad shading. While this new Kora is very good, I think that the old Kora was just plain cuter :3

Good point Minzanu. o-o; I guess the face does look kinda human-ish... I knew there was something about it that was a bit eerie. ^^;

I agree with Girlish though, no one needs to get nasty about this. Changes can be made to improve the revamp; it's been done before. Look at how awesome the second Telenine revamp was compared to the first.

Besides, if I'm not mistaken, this is the first pet Waffles drew for the site so far. No one's perfect right from the get-go, after all.

Hmm... I find it comparable to a zombie, personally. I just hope if the revamp goes through the spectrum ones don't end up like this. :

Like I said, the only improvement of this revamp is the shading. The pose, the lineart, the personallity... ugh. And I don't think this one could ever grow on me, either. -.-;

Hmm.. this new one looks kinda scary. Like a little.. kitten.. that's going to show up on my ceiling at night, and drop down and scratch my face off. ; -; Might be the eyes..

I honestly don't see the point of some of these revamps. In some cases it makes sense, if the old image is clearly outdated... but some of these pets are fine. D: -hugs them-

I know plenty of people seem to like the revamp but I personally don't see any real improvement and it completely kills the character the old kora has so much of. Kora is one of my all-time favorite pets, I hope it will stay that way. This new one is so... lifeless, stiff, and just a big four-tailed cat.

i do like the revamp,but if i could make some suggestions:

the position is rather....bland.i think you should stick with the happy-go-lucky pose of the old one,but keep the nice revamped freshness

the face is a bit long,and maybe you should squish it up a bit.

There's nothing wrong with the old Kora in my opinion. Currently tied at 296 each. This will be a close race. O.O

I do like this revamp though the one thing that does bother me is it's expression is very. :| None expressive? The Kora needs to be more cheery and the eyes are bit odd too. If these were fixed i'd say it'd look great. ^^

What a gorgeous revamp! The colouring is so much better.

I don't see why people are complaining, the old one's clearly out-dated, and the revamp doesn't change anything drastically. I like that Subeta keeps it's pet art up to date.

Honestly, I really don't think the Kora needs a revamp. I mean, it doesn't look old or outdated or anything. The lineart is smooth and the shading is fine. Plus, the old one looks a lot funner and has more personality to it. Like the old Canis had. So, I'm sticking with the old one.

Kyo, there's no reason to be so downright mean about it. We've all very simply stated our opinions without being horrendous to the artist. You're entitled to an opinion, you are not entitled to tearing the art to shreds.

Ugh! Whats with all the revamps?! All the pets looked fine and then you started revamping them!!! The magnus looked great before, it looked like it was a fallen angel kinda thing right? Well now it looks like it just ate thanksgiving dinner! Then you redid the telenine! It does look good now though, but now your going to redo the kora?! The old one had life and spark, it looked happy and playful. The new one looks like a well shaded fan art of the original. The eyes are soulless and pathetic and the pose is just standard. You should either stick with the old one or present some new options.

Don't hate me for having an opinion, its my constitutional right.

After the Montre revamp, mostly the pets that looked rather good got revamps. And this is the case too: this Kora simply doesn't look as playful as the old one does. This one looks like it has no feelings at all (mostly 'cause of the eyes). It seems totally like a robot.

I don't like the new one.

I find the face really... distorted? It looks kind of human, and well... ick. And it's not that happy looking, either. The whole thing has lost it's carbuncle-ness, which is what I liked best about the old one. Sorry, Waffle, but I prefer the old one in every way but the shading.

If you guys want to revamp the kora, may I suggest you just draw over the old line art and reshade it?

And why are all the pets that don't really need revamps getting them? I still want to know why that angler-fish-pet-thing(Lanturn?) hasn't been redrawn.

I don't mind the pose, I don't mind the expression, I'm all in favor of more realistic anatomy...i'm not so keen on the coloring. With the shiny spots it looks less like a living animal and more like a porceline doll.

I voted old. The new one certainly has more depth of shading. But the old one is more active and has more personality and pizazz.

I think the anatomy and shading are really nice, but the eyes kinda scare me. o-o;; I think because of how dark the lines around it are and how...alien-like they look. They were always like that, but the new one is more noticable and kinda freaky. ^^; I also don't care for the shape of the head. o-O I agree that the old pose with some updates on shading and such would be much preferable to a new pose... the reason I don't have a Kora now (I did have a few at various times) was that I didn't care for any of the colors except common. I loved Darkmatter, but the coloring is horribly sloppy on that one and the aura bleeds into the pet.

I volted old this time.. but I think this revamp is needed and has some potential. ^^

It took me a while to decide what to do on this one. The new one has nice shading, but it seems way too stiff, and the back leg is bothering me a little. So I had to vote old.

I liked Kougie's suggestion, about just updating the lineart/shading on the old kora.

I think what's getting everyone is that they like the old pose, but like this one's shading. Maybe you could just simply update the art on the old one instead of giving it a totally different pose and such? :3

I definitelly voted new. To be honest, I was never fond of the old one anyway. The shading, look of the face, and the whole thing overall on the new one is just so much nicer looking, in my opinion. I miss the flowyness, too, but I just love the new one a tad more. <3

I'm totally in love with those proposed revamp. It's not that different, but is definitel an improvement. :'D

HAHA.. while we were working on this with Waffles in the secret staff artist HQ.. we were discussing how the mouthless Koras used to eat.. and some really, really scary ideas came out. I think I came to the conclusion that Koras had to be like.. butt-munchers.. since they had no mouths... and then I had these horrid mental images of Koras sitting in their food bowls, eating with their butts. x) Gross.

Hmm... It's different, what with the mouth, and the pose, but the shading is really nice, and the pose and expression is adorable.

I have to say it looks slightly strange to me, comparing it to the old, but overall, I like it. It's more subeta style, and... well I dont know how anyone can resist that shading. ^^

Woah. 0___o Didn't see that one coming. Interesting, I'm... not really sure where I stand on this one yet.
On one hand, the shading of the new one is gorgeous, I love how the ears and tails now seem so much more there, than just kind of slapped on. But the face on this new one seems a little too.. tight, squished? How does one phrase it... the face on the new one looks like it has cheeks that some nosy aunt would like to run up and yank on... the old Kora's face seemed wider to me.
The new eyes? Wow, I thought the old one had those scary jelly crystal eyes of doom... this one has it times ten... I personally never liked that feature about Koras, but I immagine many people did, and you've certainly emphasized it.
The front right leg of the Kora also bugs me for some reason, almost as though it is round, where it should in fact be a bit more engular because of the "elbow" joint. And the far right leg is nearly totally obscured by the front left, which almost makes it seem as though the little bit you can see is an error in coloring... hmm... it's an odd look, certainly not what I'd expected of a Kora... I'll be mulling over this for a while to decide which I like more. Though the shading of the tails on the new one alone is quite convincing...

Not my favorite revamp, most def.
I think it has alot to do with how the original Kora is really flowy, like it's just floating down from a cloud or something, the ears and tail match the movement of the legs and its action, whereas the new one is just standing stationary, but its tail and ears are still in a position like they're floating, it just looks a bit awkward. Although, I have to say that the shading and eyes on the new one are PERFECT. The shading is really sharp and clear, compared to the old one and it fits Subeta's style much better. I still vote old, though. <3
