Blake: Spooky Edition

OoooOoooOooo haha! Hey there, didn’t mean to scare you! I want to do something more in the “spirit” of the season, specifically good old-fashioned ghost-hunting! And no, this isn’t a simple costume, this get-up is gonna help me blend in. I’ve heard rumors of some legendary supernatural beings and I figure the best way to coax them out is to convince them they’re among friends, right? That’s probably why all those ghost hunter TV shows never seem to make contact, they’re not thinking like poltergeists. Anyway, I’m sure I’ve got everything I need: An EVP recorder, this little electro-magnetic field doohickey, some motion-activated cameras, this excellent handmade camouflage, and most importantly a spooky locale.

I even brought along a spirit board, thought maybe we could communicate directly and see if any of these specters have anything useful to say. Apparently, you just put it down like this, put your fingers lightly on the planchette and... ooh it’s moving! “N...I..CE...S...H...EE..T....I..D..I..OT” Huh. Well... Y’know what, how ‘bout you come find me, and we’ll get some practice time in. Then we’ll wipe the undead smirks offa those sassy specters’ faces.

Sorry about that . Yes, visit Shadowglen and search for Blake. You don't have to wear anything specific. I found him at Jaxon's manor, others found him in other places. I guess it's a crap shoot. Let me know if you've found him.

It's not one specific place and sometimes you have to visit repeatedly. You should get it within less than 5 min of searching. For some it's the first place they try, for me, it was a little under 5 min.

I don't think anyone meant any harm. I guess maybe because things irl have been getting cancelled left and right, this is the one thing that can be on time or expected as normal. But it has been a hard year for certain, 2020 does not want to let up. :c

I think that's a bit unfair. At least one of these users has elucidated upon their concerns and has been understanding/appreciative once they are given more in-depth desciption. I have faith things will work out, but I think that's it's entirely blind to deductive, logical expectation to ignore that there might be issues (even if we had started early) and that it might be all the more worrisome if there are delays. That said, I think staff have lives and well-beings and families and other REAL things that take precedence. We can't really know if there isn't a re-cap of what is up or what is being scheduled. It all comes off as people being impatient and unsure... and people lording it over those who feel as such.

I cannot believe the amount of people who can’t seem to understand that staff are affected by the pandemic too and that we all need to be understanding and grateful we still get our celebration.

Amber has ever right to say it starts when it starts, because it does. Every holiday she is HARASSED by the same few users and it never ends.

I cannot stand the amount of self entitlement on this site with users who can’t understand the whole damn world is in a pandemic so of course some things we love even online may be delayed.

Grow up and stop harassing and insulting staff for trying to do the normal events with much less staff than normal.

With everything going on in the world let's take time to be thankful for what we do have. We need to appreciate ALL the Subeta staff for all their hard work even in rough times like this. Morostide will start when they have time to do it and not a minute before so PLEASE have patience!!!!

It will get here when it gets here. The year has sucked for everyone and continues to do so.

As for me, well my daughter caught Covid and is still dealing with some of the aftermath of that, my hubby has ongoing health issues and so do I. I'm not going to complain about a delayed start of anything right now. Just grateful to have a place to come, away from all of RL.

You know guys, the staff here are amazing and work their tails off to have events for us. The date and time that they start varies from year to year based on staff levels and many other factors. We are in a pandemic. Wildfires are spreading like mad all over the areas where staff live. Some are even on leave. It is pathetic and horrible how some of you are getting all up in arms because the holiday hasn't started "on time." This site is here because of the hard work of said staff and without that, we would not have a site at all. Stop being greedy and despicable with your behavior just because things aren't happening when YOU want them to! Being entitled is a really crappy way to be, to be honest.

Thank you for being as patient and as amazing as you are through all of this juvenile and entitled griping that's going on. You and the staff do not deserve it and I just want to let y'all know that you have my support here.

How many of you users griping at staff right now realize that a good portion of our staff live in areas that have been ravaged by wildfires and deep clouds of smoke because of the wildfires? And the fact several of our staff are in healthcare and have been overworked due to the pandemic? Also some users have been harassing staff EVERY time something is a little late for years now. This whole year is a mess and staff are tired and doing their best they are human. Have some compassion and just hold your butts it will be here soon. Rah worked double time for months to make sure all the other people in her area had stuff and support so these events could go off and she didn't have stress while having her baby.

I think it is sad how much people have no sympathy that events get delayed, especially regaring what is going on in the world right now. Movies get delayd, shows get delayed, release of stuff gets delayd but when Moro gets delayd some here make a big fuss of it and don't see that Bug and Keith have some more urgent problems atm.

Be patient and wair and if it releases a week or two later, so be it. No on will die cause of it, nothing will burn down, no one will lose anything that keeps their live going. A bit more understanding in the times we are in right now would help everybody.

Let's not turn "Morostide delayed start" into an issue, please. This is a virtual game site and I doubt this is the main source of income/ entertainment for most, so why are we having such a tense discussion on when Morostide is starting? A delayed Morostide isn't a matter of life and death, is it?

For starters, why not let's start on what we're appreciative about? Me, I am so glad Subeta lasted this long.. I am a longtime Subeta user, having the site accompanying me throughout my teen years... and the other site before that. While the other site has monetised and transformed into something I can't quite relate with, Subeta remains steadfast in delivering on its intended outcome to their users -- alternate virtual reality with a hint of e-commerce, dose of real life mixed in a virtual world via the delivery of some events and items. And while I've progressed in life, got a job, climbed that career ladder, I'm glad I can still come back and enjoy a weekend respite with Subeta, despite not very often and missing all the events in between.

So yeah, bring on the spooky!

Oh great, Subeta "soon." Skeleton crew or not, if Subeta won't or can't engage their users, then the users' time and money is going elsewhere. A clear start and end time would allow users to plan schedules and look forward to an event. Leaving users twisting in the wind is not cool.

I'd rather the event start a little later and possibly be a little shorter than have everything rushed, which would inevitably cause the site to lag and crash. I'm sure the staff have considered all these elements while planning the event, and I trust them to make it a fun time for everyone.

I totally commiserate with users who want to go virtual trick-or-treating, though. I just bought a house after living in an apartment and being unable to give out candy to the kids (not a lot of kids in my unit, plus they just went across the street to the single-family homes), so I'm really excited to celebrate online--even if it's far less involved. :P

Public health and safety is way more important, though. And the real-life responsibilities of the staff are ultimately more important, too.

The thing is, you're putting pressure on other people, who have said that 2020 isn't a good year for them either, because of the pandemic, work (several staff members are healthcare workers), natural disasters, or other real world reasons.

Subeta's running on a skeleton crew, so we can't say it's really a normal situation either. It's really bad circumstances. Staff isn't pleased to take this long, but when several key members are away for different reasons, we gotta be patient.

When we say that we support the staff, we gotta mean it.

The reason I'm anxious for Morostide to start is since I work full time every year I have to rush and hurry to try and get the few items I want before it ends. Hope we get some good dolls for this year.

I am not trying to be that person in any way but for someone to say we are working ourselves into a panic over what could be nothing is rather unfair because as past experiences have taught us, It is never just over nothing. There is always some sort of hiccup and this year has been harder than most. I just want some sort of sense of something normal, Something familiar. I think a lot of users are in the same boat, Can't do anything fun in real life so you really can't blame folks for just wanting to be able to have fun on here.

Well, maybe Morostide will start tomorrow? ^^ Even though it's only a few days late, that amount of time missing does add up quickly when there's so many items to try and get. So I can understand why others are anxious for it to start. I am too, it's my favorite holiday on here.

This is an exaggeration of the comments below. If you take a second look, you will see that the majority of the comments on this post have nothing to do with when Morostide is starting and there are many positive comments about the new challenger and items.

It's understandable that users will want to know when an event is start. It isn't understandable that an admin saw fit to be, in my opinion, quite rude to users who were asking a simple question. We can agree to disagree about how that portion of the comment section unfolded but I do think you're really misrepresenting the rest of the comments here by saying it "devolved into users complaining."

For what it's worth, I'm happy with the longer response that Amber gave and was personally curious about the start date for reasons similar to what described. There is obviously nothing else to do now but wait patiently for the event to start when staff have the capacity to do so.

I realized that after reading Amber's last post about the skeleton crew dew to the pandemic and other things happening with the staff that a plot or anything like that will not happen this year.

I do believe that we should just be patient and thankful that Subeta is here for us at this time to escape reality with everything that's going on right now. :)

I understand staff are stressed and I'm sure they are doing the best they can to get this event started. It's just rough when you have limited time that you can spend on SUbeta, and your favorite month has just totally sucked so far and the one thing left that you are looking forward to in October still hasn't started, it's equally frustrating for users. At this point I"m just concerned that with my work schedule, by the time Morostide fully starts I'm going to end up missing out on the majority of it due to work. Where I live haunted houses have been cancelled, trick or treating is...up in the air at best (and since I live in a retirement community it's not gonna happen where I live), so morostide is the final thing I've been waiting anxiously for. So I can understand everyone's frustration with the delays, but at the same time I am sure staff is working as fast as they can to get it going. I just hope we get more than just a few days of it.

But at least they went ahead and released a battledome challenger for now! That'sbetter than nothing.

In previous years, when people asked when Morostide would start, the usual answer was "Soon". Until 2015, Morostide always started on October 15th, but now, it varied between the 13rd and the 17th.

So, if you ask the question, the answer will most likely be "Soon"
