Quest-A-Thon: 1mil done, time for a new goal!

Hey look, y’all made the quest-a-thon goal days before the end. Good job everyone!

If the community gets to 2,000,000 quests completed by 11:59pm on Friday September 4, we will add in two additional prizes for everyone who participated. What are those prizes? The elusive Fashion Hoodie and 5 referral points! If the 2,000,000 goal isn't completed, everyone will still get the original prizes: 1 pet slot, sparkles forum title, and the blue avatar border (and the gold if you're in the top 100).

I said I wasn't going to do them all. I said I was only going to do them all until the goals were met, then maybe do Saggi and Wizard daily. I did them all anyways, including the 1 bonus wizard quest I got. -sigh- Congrats and nice work to all who participated!

I'm glad it's over though.

This has probably been mentioned somewhere, but with tons of comments... does the top 100 count only for the first 1,000,000 quests or does it also apply to the extended goal? I somehow overlooked Maleria's Quests yesterday (was half asleep when questing) and was just wondering. 😊

You get a notification when your gold account is three days from expiring. Why not have something similar for trades? And when you're trying to create a new set in the Armory, you should be able to filter the items by things like tier, defense, and attack.

I don't think its a big deal we get another hoodie, it just obviously isn't much of an incentive for those that already have it to want to do the quests after the first goal is hit, which is also fine, people don't need to or have to do it just to get others the hoodie, even if its just a nice thought. There are a lot of people saying you should do it and why not do it and maybe some just don't want to when there isn't incentive for them after the first goal was alreasy cleared (as I already blabbed) there are plenty who are and will 😊 Just do what you can and want to people, you've already done great.

Y'all know that the hoodie is basically a free item you can get from doing just one quest, right? If you don't want it on your account, just delete the item, and you will have lost nothing of substance.

I don't think she said anything about it becoming not account bound anymore.. just that you would also be able to put it in more places within your account, like in a pet TC:

Heeeeeeeey! Just posting this to let people know that there's a comment by Amber below where she says she's working with Bug to see about making the hoodie not account bound anymore. Some of y'all might want to take a few minutes to skim the comments to make sure your question hasn't already been answered, or your concern addressed.

Having said that, making it transformable would be cool. I'm not going to demand it, just saying I like the idea.

The fact that we blew through this goal so quickly just shows that there were a lot of people during previous QaTs who did a bare minimum and are now enticed by the 'first 100 places only' prize to put in some effort. Not saying that's a bad thing, just that it's very clear that individual goals provide a far greater incentive than 'everyone gets the same thing regardless of effort'. At the same time, making it ranked forces people to work far harder than they might want to. Maybe in the future, rather than a ranking, there can be a general overall award for any amount of effort and also a 'if you do (certain amount) quests you get (bonus prize).' This way users aren't competing until the very last moment at the detriment of other obligations, but they can plan out to do, say, 1000 quests over the course of the QaT? You could have various tiers even... Might be too much work though. Still, to add a competition factor to what is supposed to be a community event feels off. People will always be annoyed when they miss out, while if there are tiers, they know exactly what they're working for and missing out can only be blamed on themselves (provided the site doesn't crash and burn).

I dunno, just some observations and suggestions.

This is awesome! I think 5 referral points is a wonderful extra prize and I already have the Fashion Hoodie too, but so what? Aren't we here to have fun? And look at how fast we're approaching the 2 million mark already! Everything that's awarded in a contest such as this one is over and above the basic benefits of doing quests to begin with, so why complain??? I think summed it up nicely in their comment. It's sad that some people don't understand how to behave in a social forum.
