Hallo, Liebchens! It has been a wild year for me here at the brewery. Taking care of Oatmeal has had me turning over ze new leaf, so to say. I could not quite bring myself to be working new meat recipes as I have in past years. Which is gud, because I am running out of places to keep all this sausage!

I am doing things a little differently now, much less of ze meat sausage und much more of ze plants! But I am still brewing beer und ales, of course. I am starting a new club, Gunter’s Selbstgebraute - my home brew club. There will be a new brew every month, all special, all made by me. Join my club to receive alerts when my new brew is up, und if you join during Alegarten, you will receive some extra gifts too. Otherwise, I am hoping to see you stop in from time to time in between petting my goat.

My Geschenkboutique, Food Haus and Gute Ale shop are back this year, and staying open all through Alegarten with unlimited stock - but for 5 days only! I’ll be closing up shop at 11:59pm on October 9th so I can focus on my home brew club and on Oatmeal until next Alegarten. Happy drinking!

Maybe Gunter will have a sibling or a grandma show up next year to continue selling meat products, then he can have his own Vegan room to fill-out with more veggie products. I'd fully support Gunter having a sassy grandma cracking jokes about sausage

Why do we have to pay to join the club and still pay for daily beer? That's one of the worst clubs I've ever seen. :/ Not worth it imo. Waste of sP.

hi maybe this is a stupid question, but why can't I turn in beer items to drunk gunter? when I go to the link it shows the beer items, but when I click them it says they're not in my inventory?

Today I learned that there's non vegan beer. I always thought beer had no animal products automatically... I don't even know how animal products would fit. Thank you for the lesson!

Yeah, I'm really dumb in regards to alcoholic beverages. XD

(I'm not vegan, but I don't like food products that have animal products in them besides meat, eggs, and dairy products.)

It could've been a little clearer that you have to pay for the brews either way.

What benefit is the 'club' then, just the freebie items and that you get an alert? Or is it required to be able to buy the brews later?

I love the timed shops being gone, though. And I don't mind less items this year (Alegarten wearables are often a little specialized and I am already way behind on stuff for my German gallery, because meh those prices). Prices still meh but having less items helps some. Annd I couldn't possibly care less about the whole 'vegan controversy (lol)'.

I must say, I am very disappointed by the comments on here. I honestly thought ya'll were better than this? Instead it's turned into a meat eater crybaby fest? Since when was being vegan anything to do with tumblr? You... do understand that most people on there are carnists, right...? This is just like the time a character was introduced as ace lmao ya'll said the exact same tumblr line. It's nice to know that you think of me, a vegetarian ace, as a tumblrina when I don't even USE tumblr.

Also how is it weird that he's suddenly found extreme compassion for animals now he's looking after one? That's... literally not unusual at all lol.

Anyway, in closing, I appreciate any people sticking up for us veggies/vegans ❤ You're all awesone!

Great! Ok let's see. You can't leave out the l and the t (German words are usually said in the same way in which they are written), so it would be something like: (zelbst-geh-brow-tez). And in your case, it would be (zelbst-geh-brow-te), which you wouldn't actually say in German, it's Selbstgebrautes with an S in the end because beer has a neuter article. German can be really complicated, so I totally understand that mistakes can't be prevented, but it always makes me laugh nonetheless ;)

I am no vegan (though was kind of vegetarian for a couple years), and having more vegan items is nice for a change. It is a bit weird for a meat+beer centered holiday... but hey, why not? However, you know what annoy the cider out of me? Confusing meat eating with cruelty. That kind of hate propaganda bugs me a lot. Is it not possible to carter for a more sustaining lifestyle without bashing the "mainstream"? So disappointing.

My vault is quite pleased there's not too many new alcoholic items for Kwikspell's treasure chest this year, and the addition of the older items has meant that Kosmo has plenty of food to keep him going until Morostide at least :D

I'm impressed with the way Gunter's character has developed, which also would explain the lack of new sausages (let's face it, previous years were very heavy on the sausages :P) :D

I would be very grateful if we could get that timer between purchases shortened. I like that there is one (because it helps prevent accidental double purchases), but I don't see a need for it to be more than few seconds anymore, since the stock is unlimited and no longer rotating. I'm sure lots of folks would agree. It would make it much easier to buy all the things I need to feed Crowley and fill Dean's TC xDD

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I had trouble telling which items were new because I was barely able to catch some of the shops last year other than the Food Haus. Guess I'll just have to do an account search for most of the items that aren't already on my WL.

For all we know, Anne (who also works in the food industry) could be making it! Luckily the shops are open the whole five days, so unlike previous years, you don’t have to catch them at specific times to get the items you want <3

Not really where I would have put a new vegan character but maybe that's just because I really like booze and sausage festivals so I feel generally :/ meh about this change. Since he's the only NPC for the /beer and sausage/ festival it's weird to me? Like maybe there could have been the same new items without him deciding he was personally against meat? Also, sausage we're buying now; who is making it if he can't bring himself to make meat anymore?

tl:dr Not against vegan characters or items just felt that this was a weird placement. I actually like the new items.

One of the key characteristics of Subeta since its inception is that it's inclusive. That's not going to appeal to everyone of course, but preferential treatment isn't shown to any one particular demographic, so you're going to see all kinds represented here. Various ethnic backgrounds, sexual identities, etc. And Elwood, whatever he is. I assume a member of the Q continuum. (Geeks are very welcome here too.) I'm sorry if that bothers anyone, but it certainly isn't new for this website.

Sweetheart, there are a lot of horrible fads today that many people are following to try and "fit in." or to look cool, it's times like those where you just have to stick to your own lane and not let other people's choices affect you, especially if they aren't causing any world-wide harm. Remember, Subeta is a virtual website, and while all the users may not always get along, we are all here for one goal and that's to enjoy ourselves and have fun as best as we can. Don't let Gunter's vegan ways affect you, remember, he's only virtual ;) also, you may say you didn't mean vegan as a bad thing, but take a look at your comment, it came off as really rude and disrespectful, not that I was offended, but you could have possibly offended some real life vegans. Not trying to get into a fight with you on here because honestly this is a short and light holiday on Subeta that is supposed to be fun, but I have no idea how you can judge why anyone is vegan or veggie at all. And I don't see how making literally a handful of items during Alegarten vegan/veggie is catering to anyone? Myself and others who are vegan/veggie were just happy to see this and thought it was a really cool idea to have Gunter be like us and esp for the reason he is, and it's not catering to those on a completely different site, if Subeta wants to make him change a lifestyle. And honestly, who cares what reason they choose to become vegan/veggie because if we're being technical on it, it ends up helping the animals and that's the most important thing and if they can benefit spiritually or health, then that's the added bonus. Personally, I'm saying thank you Subeta for having characters of all lifestyles on your site, because you include everyone and that's a very genuine and nice thing <3 Apologies to anyone that doesn't want to see my comments, and if I'm ruining their fun (I hope not <3) I'm just saying my opinion.

I'm not saying that veganism is a bad thing. More power to you if you don't want to eat meat, but these days people are latching onto it as a fad, and not because it's a lifestyle choice, they just want to follow a crowd, and that's what is wrong with a lot of the people who suddenly switch. It's not because it's something they believe, it's because every other little hipster tumblrina out there thinks they're better than those who eat meat and they get this self absorbed ego about it. I want to know that people make the switch because it's something they actually believe in, and not just so they can call themselves better than others like a lot of today's new vegans do. Gunther can do whatever the hell he wants, but if Subeta is trying to cater to the tumblr crowd, I wish they used a different method

Although I'm not a fan of Gunter becoming vegan because it doesn't make much sense to me as he still sells plenty of meat, its not like entirely ridiculous or anything like that. Pets can definitely cause people to have a change of heart and change their lifestyle in many ways. Becoming vegetarian or vegan is just one of those ways. For example, I recently found this super cute pig named Esther who's apparently really big on social media. Her owners thought she was a mini pig but she was actually a normal meat pig, from what I could gather. (Mostly I'm there for cute piggy photos.) After having Esther in their lives they decided to live a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle (I don't recall which).

Wow, I had no idea people dislike vegan so much, it's kind of sad, honestly. I mean to each their own opinion, but there's no reason to speak so ill-mannered and be so disrespectful because someone has decided to take a vegan route. There are vegans in the real world, not everyone can tolerate eating pork, beef, etc. Sure Gunter represented meat and beer, but that was then and this is now. People have to realize that Subeta is a VIRTUAL site and all the characters on here are VIRTUAL and belong to Subeta, so if they want to switch up their characters, we as users just have to go with the flow and respect their choices even if we don't always agree. When people take virtual life a little too seriously, it's time to take a step back, take a deep breath, and get some fresh air.

P.s Also, show some kindness and respect, let's not bad-mouth vegans because they choose not to eat meat or other products, that's their life, let them live it ;)

This comment is extremely offensive on many levels, and I'm sorry that you seem to have such misery in your TV viewing experience and not being able to change the channels, that you're having a hard time perhaps ignoring a made for Subeta character being vegan to honor his adorable equally made for Subeta goat. I really hope no one takes your comment personally for any reason, because we all make our own decisions in life and live true to ourselves, and that is exactly as its supposed to be without judgment or persecution from anyone else who may disagree.
