Vending Limit

Starting Monday we will begin testing a vending limit. This limit will include all of the basic vending machines (including ocean depths).

This is a test, and we are going to start the limit very small. It's likely the limit will increase throughout the week as we watch the impact on the economy and on items flowing in and out of the system.

More information on the limit will be available on Monday!

I think the vending count is a bit off. I started with 1001 tokens and it didn't stop me and give me the "you've vended 250 times today" warning until I reached 439 tokens remaining. Therefore, I vended 280 times before I was stopped.

The day rolled over and I haven't done any vending yet today and it's still telling me I've reached the limit of 250.

Yay...lower Wizard payouts...again. This just keeps getting better and better, woo.

I think the thing that really hurt prices from the vending was when they promoted vending only items. Special fireside was the only time I really used the vending machines, which I'm sure many others as well. And I know it really brought down the prices of rare items/donation items available in that particular vending machine. So perhaps the rarity of the "special holiday items" should be higher rate.

But this might bring the prices of wizard tokens down. Then doing wizard quests might not be worth doing.

Well If this continues the price of tokens will surely rise! Maybe I can make some SP on that? ;)

Now only 10 pt wizard token payout? Payout lowered again for the wiz quests? -_- No offence guys but I really don't understand why all the changes that seem to be happening don't really seem to be for the better, it's one thing having changes for the site that betters it for the users. But I mean, come on really? All the changes either seem to be for profit or just making things worse for everyone. I'm just getting a bit annoyed with it is all.

Finished The Old Wizard's Quest!

Thank you for bringing me these items! Here is your prize:

10 Point Wizard Token

Okay, the wizard quests changed again I see...

If all these strict changes means no more calvin site down pages for a long time them I'm cool with it I guess :).

I think this is a good idea. I think other things will have to be implemented in conjunction, and that will be trial and error. As a long time player, I want to say THANKS. Thank you for working on making the economy good for everyone. Perhaps not every change will work. I will stick around through good and bad, because it is obvious the people running this site care about the enjoyment of the players. Always have, and hopefully always will. <3

this seems to be slightly buggy? some people seem to be able to vend 250 items on each machine, I vended 250 items on blue sky and cannot vend on other machines now.

I understand the change but 5 tokens and a worthless item from Wizard's Quests is right now the worst quest reward on the site.

If I could edit my previous comment, I would, but I don't think I vended 250 times on Grave Digger to get that limit come to think of it. I'm thinking it combined my 100 limit from 2 days ago with 150 vends from today. Also, I was able to vend more than 250 at Frosty Claw without reaching a limit. I know it's probably not "live" yet, but I'd hope that if one was limited, all would be.

Just got that on Grave Digger, but I'm able to vend on Frosty Claw now, so it appears that it will be per machine. I don't think that limit is bad at all!

I think maybe I just need to shut up but, in my opinion, it kills half of the fun. Maybe to much changes at once. First the quests now the vending. actually I really don't know if it's good or bad news. Maybe we will see in the long run. over and out :D

To counter the rise in token value which will occur, please put subeautique/collection/R99s back into the Wizard Quests as very rare prizes just like it used to be before. I find the wizard quests the most tedious and now that we won't need the 700+ tokens you can get (if you are fast,) it would be nice to see some surprise items that way again. It was what made the wizard fun to do back in the day...;)

Well, I hope that the limit will be added to the vending pages and that we'll have a count to know how much we've vended/ how much we can still vend.

So went to a different machine than the one I reached my limit on last night and it's letting me vend. It seems like the limit will be per machine rather than 100 for all machines inclusive. I just wish that my limit restriction for Grave Digger would reset though.

I took some time off and when I came back I was shocked at the price of books and several other items so I think this is a good move. I used to restock at the book store but I stopped because I had never seen a book worth 25 sp before!

I am for the limit because I understand that it has been dragging the price of items down for other users on the site besides venders. Other things maybe to consider would be increasing the token amount of a vend, and maybe allowing 100 vends in 3 vending machines to spread out the type of items that get distributed? I've noticed I make sp on items vended from Ocean Depths but the items I vend from Prize Get are generally worthless and only good for fragging so I usually divide my vending between the two in hopes for stuff I can sell in my shop and some pretty collection items.

My only current concern is how this will impact the sale of wizard tokens since they are generally purchased in great number by venders. Maybe we could have another fun use for them that would help them keep their value, like more enticing games with wizard token prices or something?

I appreciate all the hard work everyone does to keep making this a fun site! I support you in your choices. Its hard to please everyone so in the end, you just have to do what you think is best for all. :)

The vending limit should reflect the amount of tokens you get from the Wizard. Unless the goal here is to drastically decrease the value of tokens...if that's the case then I'm not sure how I feel about it :/ But otherwise, I'm all for a limit on vending. There are way too many items out there.

Yeah, I figured Monday didn't mean Monday so vended my ass off yesterday morning to get the achievement. Good thing.

The limit of 100 is ridiculous, you should be able to vend at least as many max tokens as you are able to get from Wizard Quests per day as the minimum. Makes sense to me.

Oh jesus. Guess earning SP by vending's out of the limit now because the only time people actually buy my stuff is when I've bended like 1000 items at once.

Hmmm...I reached my limit last night and it's still not reset for today? Is it based on 24 hours or should it be reset at midnight Subeta time? (Posting this at 8:58 AM EST)

I think we need more ways to use items. What we can do besides of questing or selling?

  1. Feed pets. But if you're want to get gourmand achievement you would use only one copy of item. If you don't want achievent you would most likely put pet on a resort because it is cheaper.
  2. Play with pets. Resort or random cheap toys you have on hand
  3. Put a wereable into wardrobe. Only once per item
  4. Armory. You can do it more then once but I can't see any reasons to do it.
  5. Feed minions on Atebus. Not very popular feature.
  6. Beanbag/plushie/card/pumpkin/bobblehead collection. Only once.
  7. Sticker collection. More than once but still no reason to have doubles in your collection.
  8. Read book. Once. Or twice if you have two battling pets.
  9. Reading drive. Once in a few years.
  10. Recycling. 21 items per day? When there are thousands on site?
  11. Fragging. Good one. But works only with restockables.
  12. Item drive. Worse version of recycling. Problem with quests is that they generate almost as many items as they consume AND tokens. So, we need more ways to use for items, which differ from collecting, questing, recycling and fragging. For example, we can have NPCs which we could give a full set of some items, for example, all Color[i/] Legeica Plushie, or Eco-friendly [i]food, and recieve some prizes, achievements, currency or whatever. And almost any item could be part of some set, because they are released in sets.

P.S. Sorry for bad grammar. I'm Russian and need some sleep.

You know, when you say Monday... users actually expect it to start on Monday. I'm assuming this was a mistake, but if it wasn't... Not cool. This is exactly the kind of thing we're talking about when we complain about staff going back on their word. It might only be 24 hours' difference, but it's very possible people wanted this time to use up their stock of tokens and get that achievement while they could.

Before they increase sP payouts however all these other plans need to be set in motion so the economy doesn't blow out again. As a frequent restocker I can only hope that user shop item values go up above site shop values though - More use for my discount coupon. I'm looking forward to the economy being balanced again.

If items went up in price (even slightly), more sp would be spent to buy items (thus already lowering the "true value/purchasing power" of sp) and more than likely all the items priced lower than shops would no longer be lower, forcing users to buy from site shops. Also, if RSing was more profitable and consistent, I think more RSers would arise and boost site shop sales. This would theoretically remove more sp from the users and give more to the site- thus boosting the value of sp further.

I completely agree on more collections however. THIS IS THE BEST IDEA! I need a place that isn't my hoard/vault for minions and food and etc.etc.etc. ❤

And since I'm sure others refusing to read properly will still continue to post silly things:

I DO think items should still be given as rewards, just not every single time you complete a quest or vend. Sp should be given every so often in lieu of items to help them keep their value in shops and keep users happy. Not 50/50 necessarily but enough to lessen item quantities enough for them to be worth more than 1sp and have hundreds of them priced at that value.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Foxtrot
User Avatar

I said LESS items... not NO items. It's supply and demand... subeta needs to find a happy medium. And as far as coding goes, they could base the optimal range off of rarity and not do each item individually. Most of the drain for item purchases comes from quests asking users to buy particular items. TC/collection/other misc. purchases do not put much of a dent in the supply/demand balance with the exception of tokens/potions/crystals/keepsake boxes/etc (although most of the items exempted are not in question here to begin with anyways).
