Who is participating this year?
I know it's a bit early, but I've already sort of started prepping, and my community group is starting to see some activity of all the writers coming out of hibernation in anticipation, so I'm getting psyched! Feeling good about this year despite back issues and 1wk vacay mid novemever, but I'm determined to persevere! I failed last year big time.
Not much here at the moment, but if you want to add any tutorials or resources, let me know, I'll compile them here for easy access. And if you so please, post your nanowrimo UNs so we can all be buddies!

I am thinking about it! I will definitely be writing, I don't know if I'm game to go for the big goal or not though. I has been an overwhelming year so far 😅
- Any writing you have done by the end of the month is that much more than you had at the beginning of the month!
I'm still working on editing my outline, and hoping to find someone to proof it before starting scripting in earnest in November.
I'm going to write! I don't fuss about the actual goal anymore, but I love the community and excitement and the scramble for words. I think I'm going to try a sort of gothic horror this year. Edit: My username is lachattefatale
I am participating this year. Username is Jess Blaze. I am attempting to write my first novel.

- I don't usually worry about the word goal, but I kinda want to win this year so I can get Scrivner again, my old copy is apparently for mac only >.< Gothic Horror sounds like a lot of fun!
- Welcome! Any inclination what your first novel is going to be about?
I'm going to be writing, probably not a nanonovel though- more likely some shorter pieces.
- I did that one year, it was a nice break from doing one giant long thing.
Do it! I just upgraded mine (it was already a Windows license, but there was a small cost to upgrade to the current version since mine was severely out of date) and I separately bought an iOS license to use on my phone and iPad. I might actually be doing most of it on iPad this year; I'm finding that I like its soft-touch keyboard better than my PC keyboard.
- yeah, I looked at just transferring my lisence, it does give you a discount, but it's only 35% off vs Nano's 50% off, so I've been waiting. Also wanting to check out Quoll Writer, which is like an open source free version of scrivner. Not quite as 'pretty' but seems to have a lot of the same features I'm looking for.
Hmm, I've been considering it. I'm working with a few ghostwriting clients right now, so I don't think I'll be able to fit that many extra words into my day. :(
- Yeah, that might be tough :( Maybe you can still work on personal projects with a modified goal in mind.
Hopefully! I ended up overbooking myself a little and added an extra book into the mix without realizing it. It's taking up the time I set aside to work on my own... sigh. I'll have a lot more time in December so I might do something similar then!
Maybe I should try to do nano or something like it, I'm having a lot of trouble just getting down to writing this past couple months
- Nano is a pretty good motivator for that! Your avvie is amazing btw!
I plan on doing Nano this year, but how do you all keep your accountability? I'm working on my 2nd book and lately its been a struggle to keep up with it...but that could also be because the second semester for school started for me as well xP
- nano is my accountability. Man, i can harsly ever motivate myself to write outside of november. Do you have an account in the website? They have lots of little incentives like badges and trackers to keep you accountable. I also joined my local communities discord, which has been great for moral support and word wars. You can also make your own little rewards, give yourself a treay every x number of words etc.
Happy November 1st everyone! I'm pretty excited for this one as this will be my first year using Nano in my classroom. I'm bringing 18 little 5th graders along for the ride.

- Oh wow, good luck! That's a pretty big undertaking for a 5th grader!
Alright, I'm into it!! I haven't really written seriously since 2018, I can't believe it's been so long already. My nano user is also CharliesNOTDead, feel free to add me! I'm also down for writing sprints if you can catch me online here. I usually pop in and out over the course of the day. I don't remember 1600 words being quite so many, but I think if I can meet day 1s goal then I should be able to see it through!!!
