- Dang, that is impressive! Congrats! I can't imagine writing that much in such a short amount of time! Even when I am super inspired and hammering out words like nothing else, I can only manage at most about 5k in a day, and that's only if I can find the time to sit and write for a few hours. Have you written anything novel-length before? Or is this your first time? (also ditto re forum gif, Eevee is so cute!)

I'm sitting 1 day behind average. I am hoping that tomorrow I can find the time to get a bit ahead before I have to go on my trip. (unfortunately my sister's probably going to put me to work, cleaning the house, doing things to get our cats ready, running errands, etc. I think she wants to be supportive of my writing, but she is very not good at hiding her annoyance when I use my free time to write instead of say, taking down the Halloween decorations OTL Is it really harming anyone if they stay up until December?)

I think Halloween decorations can stay up year round but that's just my opinion lol That's unfortunate that your sister doesn't value your writing. I'd say there are way worse ways you could be spending your free time!

I'm trying to get fully caught up today! I need 1200 more words and I'll be on track again!

Well, I wrote a decent amount of words on the plane ride down (~1k) but the plane ride back I was too tired and just slept, and the whole time I was there we didn't end up waiting around too much, so I barely wrote 100 words over the course of the week, so as expected, I am now SUPER far behind. But hopefully I can maybe catch up?? maybe??

Unfortunately, in the 3 days I have had before having to go back to work, I have written less than even 1667 words OTL There is still tonight, but alas, another migraine, and the advil is being slow :( Gotta get back into the habit if writing every day! There's still 10 days! I can totally write 30k words in 10 days ...

It'll be tough but it's doable! And if not, I think seeing out the rest of the month meeting 1667 words a day would still be good progress!

That's exactly how I feel! One month out of the year won't ever get me a finished novel haha So I'm planning to set goals for myself every month, not 50k, but something obtainable, maybe 20 minutes of writing a day so ~600 words for me!

They have been going! I met the goals for November, December, and January. This month is going to be really really tough though haha I'm only at about 10% of my goal for February so far. I've had a ton going on, I took a week trip to Zion National Park so today is the first day in over a week that I've even turned on my computer.

I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things before I leave again but we shall see. Any progress is good progress, right??? I'm at least hoping to hit my final word count by the end of next month. Farmer's markets start in April and then my life gets real real busy. 😬

I feel like it's so easy to do a bunch of work in November and then put it on the back burner afterwards. Maybe a read-through would help you get motivated to work on it some more?
