Hi all!
I'm excited for Morostide but I haven't played in a while and can't remember what happens. What should I be prepared for? The holiday guide is a bit vague... Should I be stocking up on any kind of items? The more specific you can be the better :)
Thanks y'all!
My favorite part of Morostide is the Pumpkin Patch, which is only open during Morostide. You can also Trick or Treat at other user's profiles (ex: [tot=Rogue]) to get goodies! Neither of these require any planning in advance, they are just holiday links to get free items on a timer. There will also be Morostide-specific battle challengers available for the holiday, so be sure to put your pet in the Training Center if you are interested in that. The Human Zapper (will be linked at the Pet Zapper) is also only available during Morostide. You can zap your HA and possibly unlock some cool skins for a token fee. You can see possible skins in the wardrobe under Skins tab - not all of these are zapper skins, but a list of unlockable zapper skins usually pops up in the Morostide forum in a day or two to help users navigate what is available to unlock. Finally, although any pet color combo can be released at any time during the year, Morostide is traditionally when we see new Bloodred or Nightmare pets released. Though there is no guarantee any will be released or that we won't get different pets in a different color!
Happy (early) Morostide!
Omg thank you so much! You've been such a help :) <3
Wearing the on your avie can help improve odds of your pet finding the special minion during the event.
Wearing the on your avie can help give some protection against hexes when you trick or treat at another user's profile!
I can't fully remember.. but I DO believe that these might make an appearance in the token shop before or during Moro. Always good to keep an eye out if you don't have them already.
omg you are so sweet! I'll be sure to return the favour :)
oooh thank you for the useful insight!!! What do hexes do?
Oh they just turn your avie into various weird images but they don't last long. People often wear the monocle because they want more treats with less chance of being hexed. Because when you're hexed you sadly don't get any items until your timer is up and you can ToT again.
ooh good to know! I'll keep these things in mind!
Also, one thing to know - that you only have to worry about after the event starts - is that the items you can get from each person is actually predetermined! There's a system behind it, and thankfully some very helpful people make guides on the forums, so all you'll have to do if you're after something specific is find the ToT guide. Essentially how it works is —
say 20 new items are released, all of those items will be divided into separate groups. Then, each user will also have a specific group - I think last year it had to do with the last digits of user ID, or maybe the year that you joined - and so if you want a particular item, you would need to trick-or-treat from someone in the corresponding group. It sounds very confusing, but again, there will be a guide in the Morostide forums to show what items come from what group, as well as list a bunch of users from each group so that you can easily ToT them! :)
Similarly, specific items can be found in each section of the pumpkin patch. The patch is an image, and depending on where you click, you'll be searching a different section of the patch - there will be a guide for that in the Morostide forums too!
Ooh awesome info!! Thank you so much!
No problem! I hope you have heaps of fun, Morostide is one of my favorite Subeta holidays <3 I know the offer was already extended by Rogue, but you're welcome to get in contact with me too if you need any help!
If I remember right, doesn't the way the items are assigned to specific users change every 2 years or something? So last year and the year before, it was to do with the month that users joined, this year it might end up being something different that we'll have to work out.
Coming out from behind my rock briefly to say I can't wait for the Morostide Challengers. I hope there's a plot this year... we've had some really neat ones this time of year from time to time in the past. :)

I doubt there will be a plot because of the shortage of staff, unless they spent a lot of time planning it in advance. However, battle challengers does seem to make up a big part of the holiday compared to the other holidays where the challengers aren't really guaranteed to show up every year.
Lots of spookiness, lots of candy, and pumpkins to go around! I'm hoping it starts tomorrow, I'm always excited for the new books!
