(Feel free to post your own here!)
With the recent posts and new light shone on battling, I just wanted to drop my two cents down on some battle suggestions. Thanks for looking and please share your own as well!
Cash Shop Challengers: Loot beyond 10th win. This would give more people incentive to buy challengers and make it a little more worth the csc/money if we could battle them and get a little something after the 10th win. Maybe for higher difficulties, random amulets could drop. The higher the wins perhaps a boosted chance for a random Tome or mini booster? (Like say after 100 or 150 wins, depending on difficulty of course)
Add a special weapon prize to BQs: New Achievement(s) More incentive to do these! Maybe have an Achievement like " complete 30/30 battle quests 10/50/100/250/500 times and for the 250 you get a new scroll and 500th you get a new weapon?
Have Battle Quests have a small chance to give amulets. Who says that the Mage can't be generous and offer his stash as a chance prize? It doest need to be a high percentage drop but still having a chance is better than nothing?
I will add more later. For now please share your suggestions.
Master List of All Suggestions.
A few of us suggested tutorial battles in the news comments. Something that just walks us through a battle and demonstrates what all those little symbols mean because I don't fully understand them, and also suggests which weapons would be the most effective against them (and also could use weapons that aren't actually yours, they're just part of the battle to demonstrate). Maybe there could also be more than one tutorial challenger at different levels so that you don't end up beating them in one hit if you happen to use a higher level pet. And if you need to refresh your memory, you can do these battles more than once but there's no prizes or EXP in exchange for that.
I don't know how easy or hard that would be to code, though.
Oh we are doing this? Okay, here's everything I've suggested in various places. Mostly from the last few days during loot box drama but also before. Other people have also said the same things or similar so not trying to say I'm special for thinking this stuff up. Using this format to make it easier to get my thoughts in order.
Battle Chat "It be great if CSC challengers also fit the amulet and tome drop pattern of the Normal and Secret challengers." - OP said something close with drops after 10 wins. I just think it's worth noting following the already existing pattern would be easier since no brainstorming needed by staff and simpler for battlers to not have to remember different patterns based on which challenger tab the challenger is under. Standardize and things are easier for everyone.
News comment for loot boxes release If it's going to be sp I rather see weapons in millionaire center or antique shop so you at least know what you are buying. It's 9 billion, not like the market will be flooded if it's always available. Same comment Earn a crazy amount of total wins, or beat all Impossible challengers X times, beat all Normal and Secret challengers X times, or use the Super challengers that don't even have loot for achievement prizes, or buy for an absurd amount of battle tokens.
Reworded for clarity
Use the Antique Shop and Millionaire Center to release more god weapons Set the sp as high as you see fit. The high price is enough of a gating mechanism so the market doesn't flood. How many SoSSs and Wraths have been bought since they were added to AS vs how many Ethers and Natashas from the MC? That can guide you in pricing.
Achievements for win totals in the BC This could be total as in all battle wins period, see Statistics page in the BC: ColdDragon's Battle Statistics TOTAL 137024 WINS 118888 TIES 553 DEFEATS
100 wins X Achievement, 1,000 wins Y, repeat. You already have code counting wins so this seems doable with limited coding. Or Total against a difficulty, i.e. 1,000 Easy difficult challenger wins get X, 10,000 Easy difficulty wins get Y, etc. Repeat with all difficulty levels. Or Hey why not both! Keep people busy with what is already available. Same way loot beyond 10 keeps people battling without more challengers being released.
3.5 Bring back showing the difficulty on challengers I know you didn't want to "limit people" by telling them how difficult a challenger is but it seems to have led to more confusion for new battlers. Also, the loot drops past 10 wins are already based off of difficulty of challenger, so yeah, knowing is important. Additionally, it's the worst kept secret since they still drop battle tokens with a difficulty attached and they are sorted in order of difficulty on the challenger page. There's very few challengers that can drop two kinds of difficulty tokens, so it doesn't seem worth it to keep this change from happening just for that.
Super difficulty challengers need loot and achievements I don't understand why they didn't from the start but you could fix this now, especially since you said more were going to be released soon. Given how difficult they are and how long it takes to be able to beat them (not even unlocked until your pet hits Tier 13), make the loot/achievement reflect that.
More weapons in the Battle Shop If it's a god weapon make it something that takes a bajillion tokens or even a bajillion of each difficulty tokens. Like the Mech components require just more of each kind.
I forget where I said it because User Posts isn't working past the first page Add more challengers to the BQ cue and keep up with adding them on a regular schedule You release a Secret and CS challenger every month, yet people are saying there aren't enough challengers. Adding already existing challengers to the pool could help people be aware more challengers are out there. "Hey, I haven't seen this guy before but I was able to beat him in BQs. Let's see where he comes from. Oh it's a free secret challenger and I now can battle him outside of BQs. Neat, now I have something to do for a bit. Maybe there's more challengers I can find."
Bring Back Old Cash Shop Challengers Each Month https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/917299/Bring-Back-Old-Cash-Shop-Challengers-Each-Month - I agree with them. Putting here in case the thread has been missed.
Have CS challengers always available to buy Let's take the above suggestion a step further and add a section to the CS for challengers so once a CS challenger is released it's always available. Tiers on weapons and time it takes to train pets are already a gating mechanism for beating challengers. If you go with my suggestion above to add more challengers to the BQ cue, it also means when someone beats a CS challenger in BQs they can go buy the challenger from the CS. More for battlers to do and more money for you, what could be better.
Everything said all over the place for years about making life easier for new battlers and better communication about what is available to them. You've already read it and it's been repeated ad nauseum the last few days. I believe I read you are now working on it. So great, can't wait to see what you come up with.
I'm not sure I go here since I'm not a battler, but I sure would get into battling if there was more motivation than just prize rewards. I'm talking about making the whole system easier to get into.
As it is now, the good equipment are incredibly expensive, not to mention the scrolls and status dealers. I'd go as far as saying the battle system itself needs a rework, but that would be stepping on a few toes here. So just make the equipment easier to get, at least. Training stats should be made easier too.
Make things less time-consuming, and not just for people who can pay CSC. That's how you build a 1% userbase who thinks they're good at battling when they really just paid their way up.
So i'm all about trying to bring funds into Subeta to get some coding resources dedicted to battling.
It would be interesting to allow users to submit "Custom Cash Shop Challengers" for X amount of CSC. The art could be contracted out to users to help boost that side of Subetas economy and not take up existing artists resources.
The 5th Win Loot could be restricted to a specific item set (that changes) or maybe a unique CW linked to the cash shop challenger to again - boost that market.
I don't think too much coding should be done to implement something like this. It could be required to be setup with a ticket to see if it kicks off and use existing cash shop challenger parameters with a distinction its a custom and not subeta. If it kicks off - dedicate some time to streamline it.
Gives battlers something to get creative with and doesn't break any existing parameters. It adds a new market for spending CSC and bring more life to the art market and hopefully bring enough resources to some more consistent battling events.
[box=#eeffee]1. Being able to read more than 1 book at a time. 2. Being able to equip more than 1 single-use item to a pet, at a time. ( ie: ). 3. Being able to remove more than 1 weapon from Armory, at a time. 4. Weapons when you want to "customize" set before battle, weapons are listed alphabetically. Peace! 🌈
[edit] 5. Being able to buy more than 1 item at a time from Battle Shop. ( ie: )[/box]
Oh, right, I struggle with browsing for weapons as well, it would be good if there was a "sort by" option or even just a search bar so you could find things more easily.
Being able to go right back into a battle without having to pop back over to the weapon/scroll/pet page.
Basically just a button that has "continue with current set."
Obviously keep the other button as sometimes you do want to go back and fix things up or change a pet if needed. This would just make battling a little easier if we took away one extra page between battles if we don't need it.
(This will be VERY useful on lower tier challengers if you're aiming for more wins for amulet and tome farming.)
I'd like a potion cabinet, something similar to armoury/Scrolls library for potions, pylonics etc so that I didn't have to attach them to my pet. I would like it to have a "move all from inventory option." I currently don't use them at all because I can't be bothered to attach each one to my pet individually.
Could the battle centre be added to the "Subeta" dropdown at the top of the page? I know it's on the map and I have it bookmarked but the battle centre pages are a good hub of battle related content with all the links at the top of the page. It would just be nice if it was easier to find.
I too would like to know if I can freeze/steal/curse etc and how many wins I already had before starting a fight. I have some challengers which I've unlocked and haven't had time to fight yet but to work out which ones, I have to CTRL + F on the stats page.
Pretty much agree with most of the suggestions so far here. A couple I do not agree with, but generally solid suggestions. Anything for more QoL improvements is always loved.
Would LOVE a potion cabinet. I despise individually attaching a throwing vial every time. My inventory also does not like housing the x50 of each vial I have.
If the cabinet can hold a lot of those one use items and find a better way to attach them to our pets for battle, I'd be down for it.
Your statistics page will show you a breakdown of wins your pet has gotten or which opponents have been fought already. ^^ https://subeta.net/games/battle/stats.php
But if there was a way to make it a little more convenient, then I get what you mean. I usually just go check my stats page. xD
Wanna know more about battling? ❤️ The Official Battle Guide v3.3 ❤️ Need to find books? 🌈 The Book Grind Guide v1.0 🌈
Please give me something to spend my thousands of battle tokens on T_T Doesn't have to be weapons (though that'd be nice) but just anything new in the battle shop please. lol
wanna' throw your thoughts here?
Most of the suggestions here are great! A few I would tweak or don't support:
If I didn't comment on it, I probably support it. So many good ideas here. The only one I might add is a plea for more weapon sets/scroll sets allowed. Pretty please?
I agree with Laur - we already asked for Cash Shop challenger prices to be reduced (scaled) to make battling more accessible. Creating and paying for custom challengers would be making battling less accessible and is a cost that most battlers don’t want.
I would like one quality of life improvement - being able to drag and drop weapons (perhaps scrolls and potions too) during battle. There are weapons that transform and instead of staying in the slot that we ordered them in before battle, they get sent to the end of the list. This makes using transforming weapons inconvenient because the preselection becomes moot at that point, you have to fight the rest of the battle by selecting manually. We’d also be able to reorder things based on weapons stolen and change our strategy on the fly.
Ok, so this will probably get shot down, but... maybe if enough people give this post some love... So, the Antique Shop has that Direct-to-Collection thingy @ 50% off official price... How about make it where a person can buy a weapon through that, and weapon goes straight to armory and can not be sold. Kinda like how the Hoodie from QaT's, are account bound. :)
Yes plz, for a bit of a different reason: I have a few old challengers on my WL just for the wearable. When Black Friday rolls around I’m spending all my CSC on stuff that gets discounted. So I inevitably skip out on buying the challengers. If they cycled throughout the year I’d definitely end up buying quite a few of the signets and that cool eyeball background :o and I’m pretty sure there are some books that unlock challengers too right :o :o
To summarize what I said in another thread some time ago, I still think scrolls need to be re-evaluated at some point. For the ones that are made from items from Spells Galore, some changes have been made over the years that weren't present when the ingredients lists were first made - namely, some of them have been made wearable, others became required for achievements and quests. That drives up the demand, and the price, so the ingredients required to make some scrolls might not be worth the cost and the effort anymore.
Granted, one can just look up scrolls on Subetalodge and determine from there whether it's worth making or not, but I think in most cases the answer would be no, which...well, I don't think it would be the deciding factor for someone who's thinking about getting into battling, but it wouldn't be encouraging, at any rate.
I know rebalancing the scrolls wouldn't be an easy job, and I'm sure as hell not expecting it to be done anytime soon...if at all...but I just want it to be considered at least, since it's a fairly significant component of battling.
I also really like the concept of earning components to build weapons and scrolls, like with the Forj Ores and the Simple Turret line, or even making them via Genetech combos, like the Fairy Lance. I wish there was more of that, maybe weapons made in such a way could have an extra mod slot or something.
Again, keeping things balanced is hard, I get that. But...sense of accomplishment, man. I like making something myself and using it, I like doing the necessary battles to earn components and/or tokens so I can say, hey cool, I did it. I like trying out different mod crystals to see which ones work best for me. To a lesser extent I even like restocking scroll ingredients to make my own scrolls, saves a TON of sP that way. And it may be kind of a reach to say it, but I don't think I'm alone in that.
If you remove all of your weapons from your armory and add them back, they'll be in alphabetical order.
explanation if you want it
It's bizarre, but that list has two groups, one for weapons you added before X date (not sure what that date is, or what happened on that day to make things Weird), and another for weapons you've added since. So all the weapons you've had in your armory for a while are on the bottom of the list, alphabetically, but then the recently added weapons are at the top, also alphabetical.

So, if you remove everything from the "old" group, by taking it out of your armory and then adding it back, you will then only have your "new group", so everything will be in alphabetical order.
Thankies for the explanation ( always love learning something I didnt know ). :) I am too cheap to lose all my crystals on said weapons, to remove them. lol
i am reluctant to ask for anything given the way me asking for the panzer hydra gauntlet turned into loot boxes, but...
put stuff back in the battle shop. it is satisfying to be able to buy things with the tokens you've earned from battling, you haven't adjusted the stock in years, and at least one of the things removed is really good for newbies/lower tiered pets.
this guy was 1k easy tokens and is a food. bring it back. bring this back just because it'd be nice to have (if you're feeling nice, a lil update to the art so it's not so old looking would be cool). put these back because you took them away without warning anyone you were going to do that.
put some of the stuff you had revamped/made wearable into the battle shop.
put currently unavailable things like trivia prize weapons in there.
literally just. add things to the battle shop. and i will reiterate, i said ADD THINGS, not REMOVE THINGS WITHOUT WARNING.
