Just wanted to let you know that the is not a Trivia prize, it was Crystal Shop, along with all the other "bracer of..." That is, iirc. I have had all of them for so long, hard to remember everything. :) Tho SL does say they all came from Crystal Shop.

I agree with what you are saying, esp. the . I have 1 in armory, but would like to feed it to my Gourmand too.

This trivia prize needs re-releasing:

Yes please FFS re-release those bracers somehow. I don't give a rat's ass if they're good for battling with or not, I just want them for a pet's treasure chest.

Just plaster my face over the "Let me in! LET ME IIIIIIINNN!" guy from that one meme, slap the bracers on the fence, and that's been me for like, a few years now.

+1 for adding anything new in the Battle Shop, period.

More items for the battle shop:

-New Books -Sports Bags (since they have a chance to give Stat boosters it makes sense they should be in here) -Items to unlock new battle opponents. AKA if you want to do more challengers later, add a few that can be obtained from here!

Gym Vending machine! I made a suggestion already but please bring it back and have it linked up top. With a revamp.

Smaller Tier weapons say with 1,2 or 3 % heal???

Small percentage heals on low tier weapons are pointless. A T6 will have about 600-800 health and a 1% heal on that is 6-8 health.

Hard hp heals should be added though, especially to some obtainable scrolls. 50-150hp heals are definitely needed to bridge gaps.

I’m not sure if anyone actually reads this thread. But I’ve been thinking about some of the issues with battling on Subeta and I think a big one is figuring out how to do loot.

One hand they can’t make all high tier weapons 5th win drops. The accounts with multiple T13s would have 10+ of these while accounts with lower tiers won’t have any. (Look at the shop search for 5th loot on impossible challengers to figure that out)

They tried to fix that issue with achievement prize but now that there’s are tons of pets that easily deal with impossible challengers so the value of these weapons are inherently low. Their stats generally reflect their low value.

I think we were on the right track with these loot boxes.

Anyway, here’s my proposal and I think it makes a lot of sense. Implement RNG based drops, especially for limited opponents. Something like a 1/1,000-5,000 chance drop for a rare weapon. This would ensure the numbers circulating the site are extremely low, rewarding those who either grinded, or got a lucky drop. The thing is this doesn’t have to be done to strictly impossible challengers either, it can be implemented on any challenger from Easy-Impossible which opens up the possibility for any pet on the site to obtain an RNG weapon drop. It would make sense to have Easy-Very hard to be a scalable weapon of sorts while Extremely hard and Impossible challengers have a God/Demigod tier weapon available.

In order to do this effectively the scaling of opponents would have to stop, however. If the drop rate would be that high (1/1,000-5,000) it’s unrealistic to have opponents scale thousands of wins later. If their scaling stopped at win 10 however, this would make grinding a potential 1,000 wins actually realistic.

In addition to solving a lot of the weapons problems that are around this would also increase playership. Right now we can run through 10 wins on 10 opponents in about an hour, past that there’s no real reward so we leave the site. If there was a chance drop people could (and would) spend hours grinding just for the chance at a crazy drop.

That was long. I hope someone actually reads it because I think it’s something the whole community would appreciate and it doesn’t seem too hard programming wise to implement.

[edit] For now, since the loot boxes are around, those can serve as the potential drops with the fancy box being Easy-Extremely hard opponents and Godly box being Impossible opponents.

they already do this with nightlady and the shriek of despair scroll, and like, fine. halloween trick or treat rng, very cute.

but i got in to battling specifically because it was win x times, receive y object. finally getting strong enough to beat nightlady a whole ten times and winning zero (0) shriek of despair scrolls was, um, i don't know, not very fun or encouraging?

if i suddenly had to start relying on rng for every challenger that had something worth winning, i'd be upset, and if i had to do a gelatin slayer's worth of wins for every event, i don't think i'd keep battling.

Never said every challenger or all drops.

It’s specifically for god/demigod weapon drops. The current alternative to getting these weapons are spending 9b for a chance. Which only a fraction of the community can do.

please don't put words in my mouth. i am perfectly capable of reading and understood you meant weapons, which is why i said every challenger that had something worth winning, as in every challenger that had something worth putting up with this for, which again is WEAPONS. no one is going to be bullheaded enough to put up with a 1 in 5000 chance of winning some useless minion.

also, note that purge and cranberry said they only wanted "about five" of each godly to go out, and only ever mentioned the peasant box going out as loot --

No support for random rare loot. In addition to what jensen said about rng just not at all being enjoyable, it would require (as you said) for difficulty to stop scaling at some point, which would change how a lot of the system works (make it easier for the amulets/tomes/EOR/any other post-10 loot). It'd also require a complete reset, which I don't see happening.

This wouldn’t be for existing godlies. But new loot.

Our current system will not allow for quality weapons to drop anymore. Your wish at “getting 5 wins” and that’s it, is never going to happen for good weapons like back in the Excavation event.

Too many people would have them. Instead we’re given scalable weapons that sell for 2m for impossible challengers.

At least this way there’s a chance, albeit small, that there’s a good weapon drop. Additionally, if you want one, you can grind. If you don’t want to grind that’s fine but you still have a random chance every time you fight.

no one would have any problem with more tiered win achievements (which they've already done before), but i guess that would be too obtainable for we peasants.

but whatever, i hate random drops and i hate loot boxes, and clearly you love both so we're never going to see eye to eye on this. i just wanted to make it Very Obvious that there were dissenting opinions re: More Stupid RNG on the off chance either of the BAs actually do look at this topic.

Nothing about the current system has to change. Keep peoples’ precious 5 and 25 win 2m sP scalable weapons. That way they are not angered.

In addition to that, please consider adding something to work towards past 10 wins an RNG drop does solve this problem, because there’s always a chance. Right now there is not anything. Although we have tons of challengers there is no real incentive to beat them multiple times. (I mean hundreds of times, I’m talking about grinding) It takes 10 minutes to beat an opponent 10x and then people are bored again.

I like the idea of grinding challengers, but not the randomness of rewards.

Here's my take:

  • new battle token awarded when you defeat a challenger with 3x pet's stats, 4x, 5x, etc.
  • tokens are awarded once per challenger
  • battle shop to exchange tokens for stat boosters, scrolls, weapons, fanciful boxes, books, wearables, forums titles, avatar borders, etc.

Reasoning:

  • relative to pet's current stats means it'll remain a challenge regardless of tier and numbers
  • promotes varying and unique strategies and weapon usage across all tiers
  • gives incentive to battle at each tier (avoid the extra grind to level up opponent's stats; ie. capped pet vs easy opponent)
  • more diverse endgame: higher tiers and stats give you a larger pool of challengers rather than just numbers to overpower everything
  • an army cant farm endless tokens for endless rewards, but having multiple pets across tiers help reduce the grind ,and enable different strategies with stats allocations
  • rewards that you can see, work towards, and choose (nothing hidden or luck)

Implementation:

  • will require some coding but can utilize the achievement system for tracking and token distribution -- each threshold as an achievement tier and the condition is simple math
  • battle shop rewards is straightforward to add; more effort for non-item rewards, if any

Notes:

  • The proposal has finite tokens, and utilizing the achievement system may make it more difficult / annoying to 'reset' (thinking seasonal challengers)
  • Looking longer term, new set of battle quests that scale opponents based on pet's stats 3x to 9x and reward tokens as fixed loot

Yeah I definitely like that idea as well. I think it requires a bit more work programming wise but is still an effective implementation of grinding, so people who are “bored” can progressively work towards something and new challengers last longer than 10 minutes.

I also like that you addressed a main issue. That’s the armies that exist. Not saying peoples’ armies shouldn’t have access to rewards, but I think they should be limited to challenger drops like plushies, wearables and books. I don’t think an army should make it easier to get an end game weapon.

I always battle with the same pet but I forgot who I got 10 wins against already because I take long hiatusses. It would be great if I could see that on the overview then I know who to go and battle against.
