As some of you know, I’m back and hard at work with custom wearables :) I’m so very excited to be back, and there are a LOT of good things happening! I wanted to give you all a brief rundown so you know what to expect here in the future!
- New lower prices! CWs are getting a price cut across the board. Some categories are getting combined for ease of submission (think jewelry, hair accessories, that type of thing) and will have an average new lower price between them.
- A brand new, easy to follow submissions page! It will walk you through each submission with pictures and clicking, versus confusing drop downs. This process will also pick the layers for you, so no more worries about submitting things on the wrong layer!
- An official CW directory! It will have the ability to search by submitter or artist, and be a great one-stop-spot to see what CWs are on site.
- A new CW ‘area’ for submitters where you’ll be able to look at pending items as well as manage your CW shop, prices, number of items, etc.
- A brand new, up-to-date, easily to follow list of CW rules and submission guidelines!
The CW Council, Bug, Keith, and I are all very hard at work behind the scenes, and I think you all will be excited by the changes to come! Over the next several weeks, you may see some of the stickies in the forums disappearing or getting edited while we change some things around and write up new, current information, so don’t be alarmed when you see things shifting.
There are a few things I did want touch base on!
- There may be several days in a row where you don’t get specific updates. This is because I may not have much to say other than “We are working on it!” At this point we are working on various aspects at a near-daily basis, so know even without a spoken update, work is happening!
- We are not ready to go into a lot of very specific detail yet because we want to ensure things are not going to change significantly after we announce them. We want everything tested and perfected prior to rolling it out! If you have a basic question, however, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer it!
- Finally, I know a big concern has been regarding the prices of existing CWs in a new system. The answer to that is no -- CWs will not be locked into their current prices after the price change goes live. However, please note we will not be issuing any refunds on CWs submitted between now and the price changes.

This is very exciting :D honestly I am actually really excited for the CW directory- the other changes are amazing as well. Thank you so much for the hard work you're all putting into this! I cannot wait to see all of this happen <3
Thank you very much for this update and letting us know specifically what areas changes are coming in. It's great to know that prices for existing items will be lowerable and helps me make decisions about the here and now and I think will help other releasers/customers who may have been hesitant for one reason or another.

As the price changes are in progress, I will be removing/locking the items in my cash shop as I am unable to refund anyone who purchases items from me starting from this announcement. The items in my shop will return after the price changes. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I've been away from subeta for a while but have recently been trying to come back, especially into the world of CWs. I'm excited about these changes, but it also makes me want to hold off slotting/submitting anything until the changes are in effect. I wish we had a more solid timeline, it would make these decisions a little easier. But thank you for letting everyone know that the changes we've been waiting so long for really are happening, and hopefully soon.

So, just to confirm: if we submit a CW into the queue now and it gets approved before the price changes go live--and then decide to release remaining batches after the price changes go live, then we’ll be able to lower the remaining batches to the new prices?
I'm very excited about these changes! Hopefully the price changes occur before Moro. I know a lot of people do contests for Moro CW's, and my guess is a lot of releasers will be holding back until the prices are changed now.

Thank goodness tbh. I too am concerned about the timeline, knowing the site's history. I want to buy some things, but I have patience and impatience in equal measure. If things change in 2 weeks, fine. If things change in 2 years, we may not be here.

Haha I feel super happy seeing this announcement! Thank you Jessi + Council for kicking serious butt. Updating the rules and stickies, and simplifying the submissions page will be such a great step toward making the entry point for new artists and releasers more friendly, which I will always support. Soooooo very pleased that price changes will be retroactive, as well!

One question: Would the council and staff consider changes to the subscription plans when CW prices are lowered? The CW vouchers are a big (and fantastic) part of the two higher subscription tiers. However, lower prices in CW will mean the subscription plans' values are also reduced. Vouchers' values are pegged to CW prices, so they are currently essentially worth 700CSC. When CW prices across the board are lowered, the vouchers will also be worth less. The obvious and simplest solutions are to either slightly lower the subscription tier prices OR to include more vouchers to make up the difference.
No worries if this isn't in the scope of the CW changes or if it's not something we want. It's just that I haven't seen anyone talk about this implication of lower CW prices, so I'm curious if/how we plan to handle it.

I kind of wish that we could get 2100 csc worth of vouchers rather than "3 vouchers" because I always feel that I'm wasting money when I spend one on anything that doesn't cost 700 csc. That said, I would have to lose the option of buying something that costs 700 csc, so I wouldn't care to have the value of the vouchers lowered if they do vouchers by item rather than giving them a csc value.
Because the CW base prices are set by the site, active releasers like me will drop our prices on our older items when we get the chance to do so. However, since there are many people who are no longer actively releasing, those people will not be lowering prices. Because I am active with slotting, I'm currently using vouchers primarily to purchase older items I missed out on. :) Right now, I can use vouchers for the higher-priced items, and it would kinda suck to have to pay CSC for the higher priced items instead of the lower-priced ones. :)
That's another reason for going to a CSC value in "vouchers" rather than dictating the number of items you can purchase.

- Thank you for the update. Is there any change we could get some more concrete information such as a timeline or the new CW costs? I have some items that I would like to submit soon and people have been starting to slot, but I feel that this will be an incentive to not slot and I now feel like a slime ball for wanting to push things ahead.

So no, at this time we do not have any more concrete information. I do see a few people asking specifically if these will happen BEFORE Morostide and on that, I can say no. There is a LOT of work to be done and it will not be ready in a few weeks. But it also won't take two years (or one year, or six months, or anything like that). I know a lot of you would love to have it up before Morostide, but we want to be sure we are giving you a finished, working, and polished product!

yessss! I love seeing Morostide items so much, it's one of my favorite times to work on the queue!

CW vouchers in the same set up as CSC gift cards would be nice. you could just have an exchange in the cash shop for them and bind them to the account so that they exist exclusively for people who are subscribed. i too feel like spending a CW voucher on anything priced less than the maximum is wasteful, and it's going to eventually lead to me hoarding them. :c
