How come there hasn't been a tribute item for Kobe Bryant? I figured one would have been drawn up after the sudden tragic accident.

It is one of those things that just depend on the person. I know there have been boards about it like the one below. It also may have been just a matter of everyone was busy with holiday things.

If the artists are interested in making one in the future, jerseys are fairly important in sports. His Lakers jersey with the number 24 could be a good idea.

I think his jersey shirt would be more than enough for a tribute item. I think it would just be nice to acknowledge him, for sports fans.

I was gonna, but I ultimately decided not to because 1) I wasn’t really a fan of him as a player so that felt weird to do, like kinda disingenuous, and 2) I felt the reaction here would largely be negative anyway and I didn’t want to read a news post full of “that’s a big oofin’ yikes!”

Why would the reaction be negative? I mean, the way he died is horrible, but he was a skilled basketball player. I'm not into basketball, but of the few names I do know, his is one.

If it's because of all the sexual assault scandal from back when, that shouldn't negate the good he did do, or the fact that he realized he messed up and did apologize to that woman. We celebrate people like Einstein, despite the fact that he helped in making the atomic bomb. People are imperfect.

I think your post is more upsetting than that jersey would have been. Sexually assaulting someone is never okay and there's a reason why people spend many years behind bars for it. Things may have been different if he wasn't a wealthy celebrity, but if those allegations were true, an apology doesn't cut it for traumatizing another person for life.
