OK I found a song on the list I really like. Gorillaz, Every Planet We Reach is Dead. To me it's about our lost relationship with Mother Nature. I created a lady space marine who's job is to eliminate anything she deems dangerous for future planetary settlers, eventually destroying all native life on every planet she "cleanses"

The song is about not being able to hear through the noise, and I get the feeling it isn't actual ambient noise, but it's in the narrator's head really. I mean it could be noise the narrator is actually making, too; this was my idea of the song in HA form.

My interpretation:

My interpretation:

What 'girls' are supposed to be is so defined and confining. She's sick of constantly being seen it's become a cage. Lyrics I focused on: "Oh I'm just a girl Take a good look at me Just your typical prototype" "I'm just a girl in the world That's all that you'll let me be!"

MGMT - Kids Outfit Not Found

Being carefree and not worrying about the world around you by creating your own world is the definition of being a kid. I was aiming for the image of innocence.

I picked Only Happy When It Rains by Garbage Private Outfit The song discusses about the enjoyment of being depressed. I'm using many of the main verse but also basing on the lines: "I only smile in the dark. My only comfort is the night gone black" I imagined a lot of mute, dark colours in general and in the eyes to express the sorrow and emptiness. The dress and the eye makeup was inspired by the original music video.

There's definitely a lot of guilt and denial there, so I conveyed that with the black tattoo on her chest (representing guilt) as well as her expression and the aura around her which represents the memory of the past. Will definitely submit more of these soon! :)

I had to choose Kongos - Come with me now! This song always, without fail, energizes me. To me this song embodies being stuck in a rut and pushing through all that to just be yourself.

Private Outfit

I adapted the concept of Elsa (from Frozen) to a cat-like creature. Being a high functioning autistic, I've always felt a bit out of place with regular folks (aka neurotypicals). Being diagnosed later in life, I felt a sense of relief to finally be able to explain to others why I am different at times. I understand animals better than humans, hence the animal HA... and the love of my life is Gismo (hairless sphynx cat) so that's why a cat. I've joined autistic organizations whereby I can be more myself... where there is less judgment and more understanding... to let it go :) I'm still afraid of what others may think (especially since I was severely bullied as a kid and tried very hard to find ways to "fit in"). However, after being diagnosed, I've tried to accept myself more and embrace my quirks instead of repressing them. The journey that Elsa takes speaks towards many that have faced challenges because of trying to blend in and try to be what is expected of them when they aren't being true to themselves. There are people that will be willing to ❤ us for who we truly are, if we are open to letting them in. :)

However, I found it too simple and I wanted it to reflect more my style. I have an ice bridge in the background referring to Elsa's castle but not inside the castle as she's out... and in acceptance of who she is. Aurora Borealis helps hide the trees which seem a bit darker... as well as a hint of magic in the air ;) I went more with a colour scheme that went with the Aurora. The coat's long sleeves go more with the ears and face, as well as the curves go with the Aurora and tail. There are other components but basically, I like having made a dress out of several items and find it suits better the HA than copycatting Elsa's outfit :)

I'll do more when I have time.

omg, i love all your entries, particularly the one for the future, it suits the song so well. technically the grandpa one is breaking the "at least one girl per entry" rule but since i think that was me not being clear enough you don't have to change it, it counts and i love the HA anyway.

thank you! i love that interpretation of that song, i always saw it as more literal recruitment to a dark force, something a lot more sinister, but that's part of why i wanted to have this contest! i love seeing people's takes on things. and the HA is adorable, i love all the puppies!

feel free to ask, i love talking about myself. we both play subeta, we share the account. sometimes it's really clear which one of us is fronting, but a lot of times we bleed together, so it can be hard to distinguish stuff into which one's ours, so we tend to share most things. that's easier with site rules and all anyway. i don't mind sharing, and hank doesn't usually either, honestly the only thing we tend to disagree about is how our hair should look. i really want a big flowing black mane but hank doesn't want long hair :(

This song helped me survive my teens into my early 20's. I used to hurt myself, and I always felt like I had to wear this mask to show everyone that I was SUPER HAPPY JOYFUL, even though I really just wanted to die. Numb helped me feel not so alone. I was heartbroken when Chester died. I listened to Numb a LOT the few days after his passing. I lived in Chicago, and I was always in a big city surrounded by millions of people, and I still felt so alone.

I suffer from several mental health issues, and a lot of it comes from my environment, but also from my Mom, and my Grandma, and on and on. I represented this with the Dark Matter flowing out of the HA, like it was leeching to other people within the family. I also show her as restrained by the dark matter duct tape to show what it feels like to not be able to escape your own mind. And your genetics.

I typed a whole post....hit post....and the page loaded like it posted....but it looked like it just disappeared?? Then I remade the whole post thinking it was gone....and refreshed before I posted and the post was here??? Annoying, but the second one was better than the first.
