So far, we are thinking of letting you search/sort CWs by the following:
We are thinking about allowing users to search by releaser as well, but we would like to ask the community what you think about that. Is that something that should be implemented? Would you find it useful? Do you have any concerns about this, or reasons you would NOT want this implemented?
There is other information we could include, such as: batch number, whether a CW was unlimited, and artist. However, since these have always been private, we are not sure about making it into publicly accessible information. We definitely want to carefully consider any concerns, and will not implement anything that could cause problems.
Finally, a general question: What functionality would YOU like to see in an official CW directory?
Please post your thoughts below :) No need to ping, as we'll be watching this thread.

If it's mixed in with other items, an absolute no. Locked? Forget it.
If there's a completely separate category selection made like in the wardrobe, then yes.
I don't want to wander into finding a CW and find out that oh, I'm not in this CW clique and I have 0% chance of getting this CW.

It’d be lovely to have the following added up as well:
Can’t wait to see the new CW Item Directory!! ^_^
It's going to be its own, separate section. Sorry if that wasn't clear from the post! I tried to make the first sentence clear about that :x

No worries, I think I read too fast. x.x It's been one of those days were anxiety's getting the better of me, lol.

It'd be hard to track down the artists of the earlier CWs, before the 'artist' section was implemented. I would love if it did show who released the CW. Would also make it easier for people instead of asking around on the forums.
I think this enough. I'm not in the CW community - I just buy some CWs here and there, so maybe I just don't see how sorting by batch number or any of that stuff is helpful.
[edit] Never mind, the other stuff is just included.
I think a directory is great but the majority of those things (name, ID, layer) are how I can search for cws in the wardrobe at the moment? So I'm not sure what the directory would add unless it does provide us with more information.
I'm keenest on batch numbers. Releaser we can technically do by looking at the id number, I thought? Requires some url magic but... it's there!
I'm 100% for this.
It would be so useful to know who the releaser was without having to check the URL. A lot of people, including myself, are too lazy to check the URL (or are on mobile making it way harder). I think Artist is also a good idea, even tho it would only be there for CW submitted after the introduction of the 'Artist' field.
I'm all for 100% transparency so to me, having the number of batch would be a yes too. I know for a lot of older CW, it's hard to know how many are on site, so this would be a nice info to add (and since you can't lie about how many batches are on site or if it's unlimited, I don't see why this couldn't be public tbh)
The directory would give us a lot more room for things like item descriptions (and the ability to search by description), item ID number, buttons for shop search and account search (maybe even forum search when that comes back) and gives us room to add more stuff in the future if we should want it :) And maybe CW-specific things like batch limits / releasers.

aaargh site crashed for quite a few minutes while my post was being sent ;A; but i quickly copied it to clipboard so here goes again! [edit]
As long as it is in a completely 100% separated version/section (which I think you juuust confirmed right above me as I am submitting this haha) then that is a : major yes!
I would find it quite useful and actually fair to include:
obligatory: releaser, batch "submitted as" number maybe: artist even better (i'ill explain why): current number of copies in circulation (if that is something coding would easily permit) + STATUS
There are rules in place right now to prevent some sort of lying/scamming in regards to "copies on site" but sometimes the lines are kind of blurred, mostly for the purchaser because they are sometimes left in the dark (be it on purpose or not) but also even for us artists/releasers since it's a bit hard to know in advance what will be popular or not, and then trying to keep track of what we had set it at, friends copies, yadda yadda (which btw, eventually I have great ideas about that for the actual CW page!! but that's another story) --- So! If we were to know copies that are pulled out from batches/stores, in total, then there would be FULL transparency and no more possible ambiguity or playing on information for any reason n_n I sometimes personally don't know if I will rerelease an item or not in the future when there are slots left, so to be fair to buyers I always always mention so in my thread (copies left, might come back in the future, etc.)(everyone should) and I know it happens a lot! So by having that info there, as well as status: IE: ACTIVE or RETIRED then everyone is "in the know" and we're all safe and happy!! The less confusion the better imo. Of course some might feel this could complicate things a little bit for "privates" but, as this is not something reinforced by Subeta and is player-ruled, then it has no impact. I mean I have privates myself, my own items! And worst comes to worst if someone asks about those copies, all you have to do is apologize and explain they aren't for sale and move on :)
Anyhoo my 5 cents (ok more like 75 cents hahaha) and I look forward to see what you do with it all! Thank you for consulting us!! n_n
I find searching for cws in the wardrobe with view all items (cws only) useful because of seeing the overlay much faster on the av (and getting to play around / use it in the wardrobe quickly) than waiting for the hover feature in a directory (like the item directory we have now) but to each their own. That's why I would want more information like what people are mentioning.
I frequently find now that I have to search through a lot of stuff to find matching items (even if I narrow it down by layer and cw/non cw). I think it'd be really helpful to search for things by if they contain a color? i feel like this might've used to be a thing in an old wardrobe version but tbh i could've imagined it in a drunken haze
I don't see anything wrong with searching by releaser but I'd much rather be able to search by artist (if that would be possible) especially when I'm thinking of recolors-- I like to see existing recolors by those artists and it's a bit of a hunt and memory game currently unless they keep a page with their work up to date (not many do)
fully support the batch info being 100% visible, so people can see if something is actually unlimited copies despite 2 or 3 being listed in someone's CW shop. Maybe also show if it's retired or not? i'd be cool with that.
also gotta say my memory is terrible and I didn't keep detailed notes of my own releases so it'd be nice if I didn't have to guess at the number of copies i sold of something when someone asks

I would say no because this would take a lot of work from the old to the new cw's and wardrobe is easier enough with the search option
Looking for these : x100
I'd definitly love to see artist and releaser added. Also BIG yes on batch numbers (generally status of how many COULD be released, no matter if batches or unlimited, including if it's permanently retired now) also if possible how many are onsite.
Sounds like a nice idea to me. Separate section, releaser/artists, batches, etc. this look all good in my opinion :)
I think this could be really useful.
I agree releaser - batch number - current copies on site would be helpful so that people KNOW if there are copied left to submit so we're not just getting a bunch of comments asking about items that have long since sold out
but the wardrobe doesn't give us some of the important info: who submitted it, how many copies are on site, those are VERY important things you can't find in the wardrobe and it would stop people from randomly pinging people to boards asking for info all the time
Love this idea and i agree with oopale and Disasters and many above!
I might be doing something similar for official items if you've set the filter to show wearables only ;)

I think releaser and artist could be a good idea, but more personal info like batches would not work nicely, I know I wouldn't want too many info about my items there. Having the username of the releaser would let people ask directly if they really wanna know.
Also idk if this would be possible at all, but maybe let us search by item type? Things like wigs, shoes, glasses, wings, tattoos, etc.
