[box=white]I love constructing compound, layered backgrounds and scenery.

As well as props and SFX, there's a whole lot of fun to be had with the Foreground/Ground items that are, well, the ground ... * * * * * * (Using " * " here for a series of related items)

... but they really work best for outdoor-type pictures.

Sometimes I want to make an HA who is indoors! While also being difficult and not just using a single background!

Putting the Color Swatches, Window Frames, etc on top of a fullscreen backdrop is great ... but you really need some sort of floor to make it "a person in a room" rather than "random wall interrupting the background" or "why is this person levitating". Box Of * Tile works very nicely as a floor. * * * -- all of them need * or something. Private OutfitNow we're talking!

But, you know, always having a tiled floor, and only in 8 shades, gets kinda repetitive.

There are some fullsize backdrops which could work really nicely as a floor for a room-and-wall/window ... ... except that since they're fullsize, you're stuck with them as the wall / view out of the window.

Unless you then cover that up with some of the very few items which only affect the top part of the backdrop! *

So far I've found these which I can pile up on top of a backdrop and under a wall/window to make a sorta-floor: * * * Private Outfit

Also found these, which could nearly work as a floor or part of one ... ... except that has the column showing out of your window, peeks up above the windowsill and has the curve just below the wall, doesn't reach the wall, shows above the windowsill and has the sea-sand margin below the wall, affects a lot of sky above the windowsill, etc.

These ones come with a floor and a window in the wall, but they also come with very strong themes already.

What else do we have that can be floor? Are there any floorboards, carpets, rugs, more tile patterns and colors, concrete, linoleum? What else have I missed in the outdoor-ground, too? What else do we have that can be sky? What else do we have that can be wall?

TLDR -- looking for alternatives to Color Swatch and Box Of * Tile

Sorry for the capslock but THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS TOPIC OMG. Indoor layering is my least favorite thing to do, in the wardrobe, at Subeta, in life.

are more or less cute on their own but also tend to get boring.

work well with a random Wainscoting item and as a wall but that's so plaaaain.

(*) can be dumped on the plain combinations to make them slightly better ... but not really.

I recently discovered one can layer a Frame Wainscoting and a Color Swatch with more or less fitting backgrounds like ... (looking throug a window in another room?) (who brought the petals inside?) (at least it's a floor inside and a landscape outside?) (the mirror-ish ground is so fun though it's always dark outside?) (living in the big city or what?) (... why am I even trying?)

Urgh. I even thought about commissioning a "inside but with a window" background CW ... but then I was so lost how it could be the most versatile that I threw the idea away xD

Anyway, thanks for the many items that are now on my wishlist, aaaand I subscribed this thread in hope of more ideas 😊 GO BIG AND GO HOME! 💕

0.1 How I'm defining things

Underfoot = not an item on the ground layer, but something that fills/covers the whole bottom zone of the HA.

Floor = indoor-style underfoot, eg tiles, planks, carpet.

Wall = something that fills the middle zone of the HA. May extend up to the top, or only part way. May have a Window or hole in it, so that you can see Sky or Backdrop through it.

Sky = something that fills the top part of the HA. May extend down to the Underfoot zone, or only part way.

Partial Backdrop = some Items fill more than one of these HA-zones without filling the whole of the picture, eg combining a Floor with a Window-Wall.

Layerable Backdrop = a backdrop Item that could obviously be used as a Zone by layering other Items on top, eg

• use as Wall by adding Floor,
• use as Floor of a room by adding Wall and maybe Sky,
• use as Sky by adding Window-Wall and Floor.

Props = smaller items which don't fill a whole zone, but can help to build the backdrop.

SFX = lighting, shading, color filters, textures, auras, outlines, sparkles, weather, cutouts, frames, etc. [/spoilercontent]

Indoor prop:

I think the ladder makes this not useable in most cases: - I guess you'd use instead if you wanted a grass floor

Indoor Seasonal though it's more of an entire scene not a prop

Heavily themed prop? Hides any floor/backdrop lines well

There were so many things that I missed b/c I don't add random stuff to my wardrobe and won't even know it's a wearable item unless I happen to hover over it (which doesn't happen when I'm vending) so this has been awesome for me.

Maybe I'm blind, but I couldn't find this in your list: - a rotten wooden floor (maybe for a Survival/Morostide-themed HA?)
