Yes it's by Niantic. I would have imagined it would have been released by Nintendo too since they have their foot in everything, but I guess they went with a more specialized company, since Niantic has released other successful apps, I think.

I found a Zubat outside my window, a Drowzee in my kitchen sink and a Jynx in my fruit bowl. This is the best day ever. We are now truly in the future hahaha

Caught eight today around the campus where I work. But now the servers are down so I can't even doodle around at my desk. Probably better for my productivity...

Plus it drains my battery, yeesh.

I was really busy at work this morning so I haven't gotten to do much yet. I have a Charmander and a Pidgey and now that I have more time, the servers are down.

It said there was an Eevee near my house earlier but I couldn't find it and now it's gone D:

My office has a gym and like 5 stops. NEVER WORKING AGAIN.

Haha, this game came out at the worst possible time for me, I was already experiencing massive battery draining problems xD

But so far the area I'm around isn't being so fruitful for finding Pokemon anyways xD

The game so far is fun for me. I control two of my town's gyms and my sister controls the other. We're both on the same team so we are each other's support trainers.

I have noticed these things so far - Pokestops refresh after a few minutes. So you can park it at a Pokestop for an hour or more and gain pokeballs and eggs as well as other items like revive or the health potion.

There don't seem to be Pokemon on the Highway, so I suggest not having it on then unless you have an egg you need to hatch. Driving is a bit faster to hatch but I think the company took that into consideration and made it harder to hatch when your character is seemingly running down the road.

Just a theory, not 100% sure and of course, do not have it on if you're the one driving. I only know this because my awesome mother totally drove her two kids ( me at 25 and my sister at 31 ) around like we were ten again when the first pokemon game came out. It was so much fun.

Combat Power is a big thing. I suggest not to really "power up" your first catches until you catch a few more of a certain type because your first catches will most likely be a low combat power rating.

I.e. Rattata at my house was 11 where at a Gym it was 71.

You can turn in your extra pokemon for candy! You need candy to level up your pokemon's combat power and eventually evolve them.
