I'm a super huge introvert, too, but I kept laughing every time I heard the dudebros get excited about Eevee, and the older guy was SO HAPPY about the Snorlax he caught .... it's like automatic icebreaker! Someone needed a battery so I offered a slot on my battery and it was like hey, new best friends. It's so fun to have a common nerdy interest that brings everyone together.
I haven't been brave enough to go up to people on the street, but when you're standing around in the same little park for two hours...yeah, that'll start some conversation. xD
I hope you get the chance to meet some cool people, too!
Ahhhhhh~! That's so awesome!! :D I would be one of the ones freaking out over Eevee. xD I've gotten three so far... but three is not enough! =X That was sweet of you to offer help with the battery! Do you have a portable charger of some sort? The app drains our battery so bad. Probably something I should look into. Can't do a car charger, 'cause our car's super old and the lighter port is broken. :<
I play Ingress which is the same kind of battery-sucking game, so yeah, I definitely do. It's one of the big bricks with space for two cords, and so both of us could use it at the same time. You really don't need one that big, but anything is super helpful.
I actually can't recommend an external battery highly enough for PoGo. I hate having to go home when I'm in the middle of the afternoon, and even a small external adds two hours to that.
I was so excited I evolved a Vaporeon yesterday! I'd been getting nothing but Jolteons. Flareon, you're next!
(Also Eevee is adorable)
Getting one with two slots wouldn't be a bad idea, though. In case we're out with the best friend. Or as in your case, even just a stranger. :D I do have a Pokestop across the street from my house, but there's a really nice chain of them downtown . Like 9 of them down a single street. So yeah. I'd hate to have to go home while in the middle of doing a circuit (or ten).
YAY there's Pokémon Go for intel processors now with the last update, I'm so happy for this! However now I can't play because it isn't out in Brazil yet, but at least now I know I'll be able to play when everyone is. :P
This is so nice! I hope to have moments like that, meeting strangers in a common effort to catch pokémon. That's a really nice aspect of this game, I definitely should go outside more often, haha. About your eeveelutions, I don't know if this is true, but I read somewhere that the second attack eevee has will tell which eeveelution you'll get. I don't know which attack leads to which evolution because well, I can't play yet lol. But if this is true, this can save you lots of time. ;)
Even though I've never played any of the other games before, I decided to get the app because when it first came out, it looked like fun, and waiting for it to come out where I live only made me want it more. Not being able to have something always seems to make me want it more. I haven't done much yet but I'm planning on going out later. Only problem is, the AR won't work because apparently my phone doesn't have a gyroscope, whatever that is >-<
a gyroscope helps tell your phone which way is up and which way is down in the real-world. HONESTLY even though the ar is fun, it drains your battery really fast, and your throw accuracy is WAY BETTER without the ar on, so don't fret! You can still be the best trainer!

Well, as long as the game's still playable, I guess it's not the end of the world.
Current (seems to be most reliable, we'll see) "guaranteed" way of getting your Eeveelution is to name them based off of the trainers from the first season of Pokemon. So for Jolteon, you'll name it Sparky. For Flareon, name it Pyro. And for Vaporeon, name it Rainer.
I heard about that eevee evolution trick and at least for me, it worked. I got my first Flareon using that trick. c:
I heard that about Eevee as well, but all mine seem to have the same attacks and it didn't seem to be consistent, from what I could see. But the social aspect is the most fun to me, really. I love seeing random adult strangers stop in the middle of the sidewalk and start distinctively swiping up. LOL
Popped a lure and a lucky egg on my lunch break so I could get some collecting in - servers were down each time I went out this weekend. And... of course, after 15 minutes, the servers were down again. Didn't even get to evolve anything for double the XP because I was waiting til the end... my fault I guess.
/sigh
Just went on my first real adventure with my niece. I'm so amazed by how much is going on in our little city, there were like 30 pokestops and 3 lures in the innercity. Heck, even in our own two street village we had two pokestops. How did they ever get into the database. How did anyone ever care to put all this shit in from a small town in an european city.
