so i've decided to get into battling, and i did read a few threads and blunder through a few battles okay. my cap seems to be somewhere low-mid since i can take out mephysto, but not pete. i don't know if i just need to train more before i can take any other challengers out or if i just need something i am missing to take out low-mid opponents.

so what should i do for scrolls? should i just go buy a bunch of books so i can get better than the level 4 ones (which is what i can currently make)? also is there any point in using potions this early? i know i get some better set options in T4, so any advice for T3/T4 is appreciated c:

note: i have about 20mil to play around with for purchases currently and i am auto-training.

For challengers, I use Challenger Tier Guide~ as a guide for my lower tier pets. It's a fairly accurate assessment of when you should/could take on certain opponents :) It's not set in stone though, so if you feel you can take on a challenger earlier or if you prefer to wait until you are later into the tier, feel free to do what you want.

Your T3 set looks good!

For T4, I would recommend upgrading your freezer to , which can be purchased with battle tokens. If you do your Battle Quests each day, it shouldn't take too long until you can get one.

For attackers, I use 2x . They would be good replacements for your Cursed Demon Sword since they don't have a negative heal. Alternatively, you could do one Eventide Chakram and replace your Ruffie Healy Bones with a if you want to keep a healer.

would also be another nice bomb to have around.

I find I don't really use shields, so if you're pressed for space in your set, the Cursed Irion Chestplate isn't something you really need.

As for scrolls, here's a guide The Complete Scroll List to all of them. You can gain intelligence points from a variety of sources like books, jobs, the mystic spindles game (when it isn't glitched), or stat boosters.

One that I particularly like is since it heals 5% each turn and blocks icons (should be much cheaper to make yourself).

Alternatively, heals 8% each turn, but doesn't block any icons.

Good defensive ones are and (also cheaper to make yourself). They are once per battle though, so you can always stock up on more when your pet has greater AP.

in addition to the advice above:

is another good defense scroll

are pretty cheap to make and provide freeze chances, and good for fire defense too. making a few of them if you have spare AP can come in handy.

potions are only really worthwhile if you're close to getting a win and you need the extra help. they can be kinda pricey though since they are one use. the ones I use still are = full block = freeze chance = freeze chance = 1k heal and the dark element potions for example. the other pylonics are more useful at earlier tiers, so you may want to look at them, but I wouldn't rely on using them.

[item2=Singed Stuffing Scroll] very cheap. and has some healing. other than that, Divine Denizhen and Death Delusion is the one i use since lower tier until now. i'm a cheapskate, so i don't have fancy scrolls. if you can restock or get ingredients from quests, they are way cheaper to make.

[item2=Regenerating Pylonic] potions are very expensive to use for granted right now, but Regenerating Pylonic can really make a different during tier 4 and below. it boost 100 attack and defend.

[item2=Crystal Ball of Fate] pretty cheap tier 4 multiheal. takes healer slot.

[item2=Aegis Blight] useful if you having trouble with Mechalag. it block pretty much every icon type of mechalag. MC item. expensive.

thats exactly how i was thinking my T4 set would look like, glad to know i am on the right track. also thanks about the info on scrolls, that looks like it will be my main priority other than training right now.

Divine Denizhen does seem like it is going to be my main priority currently. and that pylonic is not TOO bad for 33k. i've dropped more for no reason, so i will keep it in mind. its always nice to hear from someone who battles on the cheap though, so i know it can be done.

so i was able to get lincoln to level 14 today in battle quests with the help of scrolls (cobalt and singed, thats all i had for AP lol) and a negating pylonic. stupid mechalag ruined it for me though, i skipped him twice and ended on him. too bad that aegis blight is waaaaaaaay too pricey lol.

No problem :) just drop me a comment or something if you need to Divine denizhen helps a lot with mechalag. He's not actually that hard, he just has a whole lot of hp and defense.

what would be your strategy with him at T3? i figured out how to take out pete, but not mecha.

Oh I'd need to look at t3 stuff and his icons to come up with something solid, but as far as I know t3 pets can beat him using a divine denizhen scroll and just whatever two attackers are recommended at t3. I can look it up later. How close do you come when you fight him? Is being frozen a huge problem?

battles more with lower tier pets than I do, she might know off the top of her head more about mechalag than I do. I'm just on my phone right now.

Sadly I never bothered to battle him with a tier 3. It would take way too long. I usually wait till tier 4-5.

I am positive I have heard of t3 pets beating him. Like you said though it would take awhile.

i can't sustain the hits i take after being frozen versus the amount of damage i put on him. it's just not enough. i don't mind if it takes a while, as long as it isn't terribly expensive to do. i already bought cobalt and DD today, so i'm feeling like a bit of a miser with sP now ._.

I sent you which will help you heal each turn, it might help a bit. do any of your weapons have mod slots? just the infinite use weapons, the others aren't important to mod.

the cursed demon sword has two, and your stinging gauntlet has one. with that i am using:

so you can pop onto your infinite use weapons, they're relatively cheap. they add 5 icons each I think? and give you a chance to proc a curse which does 8 icons each turn. if you want to stay unfrozen, you can use which are kinda expensive, or which you can buy with battle tokens if you have enough, but the blessing of natural armor crystals provide no additional icons. parched baguettes are 4 icons.

mechalag is doable at tier 3. took about 20 minutes for me though. i use: [item2=Cursed Demon Sword][item2=Sacrificial Spork][item2=Robe of the Phoenix][item2=Replica Minotaur Knocker] other weapon, i use OPB healers. i modded the sword and spork with dark crystals for penetrating power when use with death delusion scroll. the scroll has small freeze chance too.

basically i focus on one icon type to penetrate his heavy armor. and when i'm about half hp, i use healing weapons. any 2 multiheal weapon is good i guess.

edit:

Rreign Mace of Malice is cheaper and better heal. Cruento Dolor does not take healer slot if i recall correctly. i don't have it on me to check it out. i might be wrong.

Gonna send you a recycle blaster. Replace that with Blackmoons. Does 1 icon instead of 13. Other than that everything is solid, just save up for T5 and better scrolls

thanks for that! what scrolls should i be working towards equipping? i bought cobalt and i have the tomes, as well as access to make L5 scrolls. i currently have 21 alchemy points.

DD is good for now. When your pet gets a bit higher health id recommend Terra Focujin (which I have and don't use so you can borrow as long as you'd need) definitely aftershocks scroll. In my opinion that's the best healer that we have.

7% over 20 icons of damage and a solid block.

That's something you'll use when your T13 so definitely a good buy whenever you can get one
