Automatically reinfected with same virus?

Got online just now and found an event that said I had been matched up with an infection specialist and to enjoy the ride. However, I was a lovebug still, I just claimed my skin and now I show the first stage of lovebug again. :(
I want a different virus of course since I have lovebug now and I know time is running out.

After saving my skin, I can't sign up for a new one. Still has the same message as when I first signed up.
Of course, I don't want to be in 's predicament, either.
Wish I knew if this was a bug and I just need to post here or if I should make a ticket.

I do believe this is part of the same bug that broke the Bite buttons and is currently being looked into. Unfortunately, all we can do is playing the waiting game.
If you want to keep tabs on the bite button thread: Your bites won&;t infect anyone! I believe Keith saying he's looking into it is on page 2 or 3.

A friend told me I could take the cure (Bottled Antilovirus) and then the options to buy a new virus would show up again. It worked, yay, and now I'm on my way to being a butterfly!
I guess 200 hearts isn't that bad to spend as a workaround fix since subeta still hadn't fixed the problem when I got home this evening.

curing seems to have worked, waiting for someone to bite me with my new chosen virus

I had selected Bindi Bite late Wednesday night,but started Butterfly Bruise again.I took the old corresponding cure for that year's virus so I could move on to the virus I wanted.
I ended up choosing Blistered Hearts because there wasn't that many Bindi Bite people around at the time.I just hope this gets resolved before I move on to one of the 2015 virus after my BH virus completes.

I can't cure this one, since it's one of the new ones. I really don't want to have to wait this one out, again.
Something similar is happening to me. I went to my wardrobe and removed my Butterfly Bruise skin so I can get infected with a different virus. After saving, I suddenly became infected and am stage one of Butterfly Bruise again.

I would go ahead and buy the Bottled Antilovirus and try to cure and immediately sign up for a new virus. It couldn't hurt to try. It cured my year 2009 lovebug. Though it's true, they may not have made the newer virus' cureable. I don't know. If it doesn't work for the newest virus' I'd make a ticket because you should not have to go through the same virus twice! Don't know if a ticket would help but maybe they could bring it to a programmers attention through the ticket?

I filed a ticket yesterday.
After I finished my first new strain and chose the "none" skin in the wardrobe, I was also automatically reinfected with one of the newer viruses without even having gone to the VIP page, and I cannot cure that one. At least it's a new strain, but I did want to use the time to get some of the older viruses that I loved... Sorry, but this isn't exactly funny.
And yep, I also got that weird event (that I didn't get the first time being infected this year btw): Thank you for using the Volunteer Infection Program! You have been matched with an Infection Specialist, now you just need to sit back and enjoy the ride...
I wanted an older strain as well. I hope this gets resolved soon. What if it happens a third time?
I have no idea. I didn't even know I was reinfected because it obviously didn't come to my mind when I went to the VIP page and got "your infection hasn't developed enough" - I just thought something went wrong with the wardrobe skins, or that I had forgotten to click "save" after changing skins. Nope. Two days later, bubblejelly marks on my HA -.-
