We really don't have any lean, thinly-built wild cats in our eclectic array of Subeta pets. The cheetah comes to mind, as it is unique among its brethren. We have the following pets based off the corresponding "cat" in real life, taking into consideration of anatomical build as well as Subeta's canonical lore.
=
Archan : (male) African lion
=
Celinox : Lynx
=
Feli : Domestic housecat
=
Tigrean : Tiger :pSo how about a cheetah to add some diversity to our feline species'? Interesting species facts:
o The cheetah is one of the smallest in the family of big cats. In fact, it cannot roar. However, it is capable of purring and 'chirping'. o Its anatomical build allows the cheetah to be aerodynamic, making it one of the fastest land mammals on Earth. Its long tail acts as a rutter, allowing the cat to make quick turns when chasing after prey. o Cheetahs are often bullied by lions, and try to avoid them as best as possible, especially when cheetah cubs are involved. A lion will kill a cheetah cub without hesitation. o The tear marks on the cheetahs face act as natural sunblock. o The spotted coat is most-commonly seen among the cat...but a rare 'striped' variety seldom occurs; these are often called King cheetahs. The King cheetah is not a subspecies, rather, the striped coat is genetically-recessive (gene Taqpep) and the offspring must inherit both recessive alleles (rr) for its phenotype to appear striped. c:

So, yay or nay for a cheetah-like pet? I personally would love one, especially if it had the King cheetah pattern. :D

I'm for any cat type pet and this one would be awesome.

What was the question?
Personally, I would rather have the next new pet be unlike something we already have, such as a giraffe, or an elephant. We have multiple feline and canine pets. I think more exotic and unique pets would be more beneficial.
I snorted when I saw the housecat picture xD
I love cats so I don't hate the idea, but it probably needs more to it so it's not just a tigrean with a different pattern. There was a suggestion awhile back for a hyena; maybe the two could be mixed to make it a little more original?

[edit]
But yeah, I'm with . As much as I like this idea, I'd prefer to see more unique pets (I still need a Subeta boar in my life D:)

I'd be down for the hyena/cheetah hybrid idea, but I don't support a pet solely based off a cheetah. Four felines seems like so many already, and, well... an overlay could probably do that job for you pretty thoroughly. I'd rather, if we got a new pet, that it be something we don't have yet, like a cutie snail or an elephant.
I love cats. They and deer are tied for my favorite animal. I agree with the others, though, we have a lot of great cats already and I'd love to see some other species instead - the cat/cheetah hybrid idea sounds really awesome, actually.
Having said that, if a cheetah pet ever was released, I probably would want one anyway. Because cats.
I'm pretty sure there's a suggestion topic floating around this forum about it, and I would love to see staff put it into action. I'd love a chubby snail!
While I agree that we have a lot of cats, I LOVE CHEETAHS and they're my favorite animal so I will 4ever support this.
I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else. Cheetahs are cool and all, but we already have a lot of cat pets.
Actually, I feel like we have too many mammals. We have 68 pets ( excluding Experiments ): 47 of them are mammals, comprising 69%. Considering mammals are actually a minority of all species IRL, I feel like that's a pretty high number.
If anything, a diversification of current options would require going pretty far away from cats and dogs for pet ideas. Snails ftw.
only if it's a Leopard...XD
No snails. Those aren't pets O_o Maybe as an experiment though...

Not to mention:

Anyways! While Cheetahs are awesome, Hyenas are way cooler :'D! Also we have too many felines (and dragons) (and canines) so I'd love to see more pet diversity before more of them (even if my heart PINES for manticores).
I'd love to see a snail or hermit crab, CUTTLEFISH?!? (cuttlefish are almost as amazing as hyenas), big ol' tubby Pacman frogs, a type of streamlined raptor bird?? A SHARK O3O???! And if we're talking warm and fuzzies then my kingdom for a hare, genets, OPOSSUMS, armadillos, and again hyenas because hyenas are awesome. Those fuzzy yeti crabs are fantastic too.
i think youre also forgetting the telenines (saber-tooths right?)
i love cats, but i do feel theres a bunch already to make another entire line. Though, i wouldnt mind one or two cat based experiment ones.
As much as I love all cats big and small I think we have enough cat-like pets on site.
Um, no? I don't know how "those aren't pets" can be an argument against snails as a pet (off-topic as this may be) on a topic where people are suggesting cheetahs and leopards. At least snails would give a little bit of diversity to the pet selection. We already have at least four different feline species here. If anything the cheetah/leopard needs to be an experiment (should it become a thing), given how unnecessary another cat is.
Maybe you've seen it, but there's a snail pet thread :D Check out this pretty post over there _
