What has been happening at Neo has been stressing me out, but the dupes and lack of communication from the staff is the straw that is breaking the camel's back.

I had an account on here for a while but I'm not even sure if I really played. I don't remember how to make subeta points. I don't remember how to get to flash games or if there are any. I can't even figure out how to clear the old events from my dashboard on the left.

I'd appreciate any help and advice that you can all offer to a Neo refugee. Thank you!

Edit: Ahh my Firefox extentions was keeping me from being able to clear my events on my dashboard. That's one problem solved. >.>

Hello there. Many of us are neo refugees. I'm still mostly stumbling around too but sometimes manage to figure things out. :P

I'm glad I'm not the only Neo refugee, but with the train wreck that they have created I'm really not surprised. Your avatar is so pretty.

well thank you! I think you'll find that the vast majority of everyone here is super generous. Yeah, the floofy is a minion, which is like a petpet. :)

Oh hello! I'm also a Neopets refugee. My account on Neo, I found out, had been hacked when I tried to visit it. I think that was the last straw - I officially have converted to Subeta! I made some great friends there, but I find the community and gameplay so much better. The staff, the graphics, everything seems to be better around these parts!

One great thing to do is to get involved and try fun things around the site. You can collect books, stickers, plushies, beanbags; expand your wardrobe collection, and more!

Another refugee! How long have you been here? Did the hacking occur around the time of the mess that TNT made? Can you read books to your pets or can your person avatar read books or are they just for collecting? Do I have to feed my pet?

I've only been on subeta for a month. I like it better than neo in that I find the artwork much nicer and I'm not constantly watching my back afraid I'm going to get frozen for silly rules. It's also waaay easier to earn sP than it is neopoints. Those are the pros I guess. The cons are that you still have to pay real world money to get certain things (like neopets) and also I think stuff around here breaks a lot without ever really being fixed, like with neopets.

I don't mind paying for some things with money to support I enjoy playing, as long as I feel I get my money's worth. However, the fact that things break here and never get fixed are enough to make me Grandpa Simpson right back out the door. :(

Yeah, don't quote me on that since I'm just a newbie but I think it is a complaint from older players about some of the minor things. It doesn't really bother me since I never used it in the first place :P

I haven't heard of any recent Neopets debacle - but I assume it was before? What was that, and how did that go? Pretty sure it was a cookie grabber that hacked me.

I've been here for almost two years now. I was on Neopets for three or four years, I think?

You can read books to your pet, yes. You can also feed your pet - and there are achievements related to that! If you feed your pet specific foods you can get achievements, which are really fun to collect. You can also stick your pets in the resort if you want.

Oh god, yes, Neopets: they got sold to another company a few months ago and just recently (about two weeks ago) did the server change. The site came back two days later after being down riddled with glitches, nothing works, and every time something gets fixed two more things get broken- and worse! Worst of all is that there is currently a security hole that allows users to dupe points and items so the economy has tanked and TNT isn't fixing the problem, freezing the offending users or even talking about the issue.

How is Subeta being a butt right now? It seems fine to me but also I haven't done very much. How do I get to your guide of things to do on this site? I would love to check it out as soon as possible.

I have a very old account on Neo. I just go there to zap a lab pet, play a few games and collect interest. The site is a mess.

Unless you spend real money in the NC Mall, they don't give a crap about you. It takes months if you're lucky to get a half ass answer to a question.

The staff here has always been more than kind (even when I would ask a dumb question) and very prompt. I was astonished at the mere fact that someone actually took care of my problem.

I waited months and months on Neo for a simple answer to a question about an item that wouldn't load in one of my gardens. Took about 6 months or so to get a reply which answered nothing and the problem still exists.

Love my Subeta. :)

I hadn't heard about the recent dupes, good Lord nothing changes there. I stopped going to the boards and user shops on neo a very long time ago when the staff wouldn't do anything about cookie grabbers, etc.

Oh my gosh! No more Viacom... That sounds absolutely terrible, that the site has changed so much. Unfortunately, that seems like the downfall of Neopets. I was around when pet sites were super popular - like Soroptimist Directory! It's so unfortunate that happened, but I guess it was bound to happen.

Sometimes Subeta lags - it was very laggy over the weekend, but that was because of the server changes that were happening due to the Bash bug.

Oh hahaha ok my bad, didn't see it was linked. I thought my Internet was being laggy, didn't question it being Subeta.

Yeah such a mess! Unfortunately it didn't even matter if you were on the boards or not this time around- people were duping items and sending it to innocent bystander's accounts and then filling up their inventories so the duped item couldn't even be sent back. I don't know what's going on there at the moment I'm too worried to go back and check. Even if I don't want to play anymore I still don't want my account to be compromised just in case some day I do decide to give it another shot.

What is the Bash Bug? With Neo changing hands everyone was very optimistic that things would change (they surveyed users for opinions, announced that there would be a Neo app in the future, etc) but with the same Neopets Team running the site and after this ridiculous show of incompetence, I'm not sure if the site will even survive.
