Do you prefer to watch anime or read manga? And why?

I prefer manga because I can take it with me on the train to enjoy while I go to and from school.

Always manga. The quality's just better imo. I don't read much anymore though.

I do agree that a lot of the manga has better story quality

But I find the art quality better in anime. But, maybe just because I'm a fan of color.

I like watching action on screen than reading about it, it just seems to...'pop' more. I also like to hear the voice actors so I can have a voice in mind when I read their dialogue.

It depends on the art for me. Something made my CLAMP, for instance, will always look better than any animation of their work. I like color and motion in shounen, but no, I usually prefer the art in manga as well.

Animated action and fighting sequences are really nice, but I think it's fun to be able to see it frame by frame and to fill in the blanks yourself.

It can vary, though I haven't personally seen an anime with any bad art.

True. Depends on the length I suppose.

I enjoy anime with lots of extended fighting sequences like inuYasha

But I also enjoy the fighting sequences in a manga like Fullmetal Alchemist

I haven't had the chance to read FMA yet, it's on my list to check out, though. My favorite anime fight scenes reside in Soul Eater.

I have not seen soul Eater. Being in my last year of High School and having a job, I am left with almost no free time anymore

Ah, it's a good anime. Pretty short, though. Yeah, college just stared back up, hard to finish up lists of things.

Ah, I will not be attending collage. I am expected to be married this year :D But then I will work. My fiance enjoys Fruits basket, but I'm sure we will find other anime and manga to enjoy together.

Oh, congrats! I also have to suggest Blue Exorcist. It's got me hooked. ;;

What is it about? He is not a fan of things with excessive fighting and any gore/horror is out of the question for him.

Mmmm Soul Eater. I do like that anime a lot. SE and FMA both have great art in the anime and the manga. It's funny that you mentioned Inuyasha, because there's a few different animators for that show, and some of the episodes are hideous, in my opinion. Some are gorgeous, but some are awful.

Click! Will explain it better than I could haha.

I just finished FMA: B a few months ago. The ending made me cry. ;; There was a small hole when I finished SE, one anime I plan on re-watching. I want to read both SE and FMA, going to seek out those after I finish the Blue Exorcist series.

Oh that sounds divine! He won't watch it but I will.

InuYasha has the same kind of animation as Boondocks does. I actually like that style a lot.

I tried looking for screenshots of what I meant but was unsuccessful. I just know that some episodes are poorly animated and others are fabulous. Different artists working on different episodes I suppose. /shrug

I actually didn't even know the series ended. I haven't watched in forever, but I read the finale of the manga and have to assume Brotherhood ended the same. ;n; I'm behind on SE, which makes me sad.
