I deleted my account today and I'm not going back. I played for ten years on and off and I was so sick of all the commercial crap that covered the site. It's a waste of time playing nowadays. I feel relieved that I've left but slightly sad that Neo went downhill for me.

Has anyone else left and why'd you decide to stop playing?

I've deleted all my side accounts and spares and such, in anticipation of eventually deleting my main too. It's weird to me, because I'm also a longterm member, 9 years this fall, and am finally getting frustrated by the bullshit. No, I don't want to dress up my pets in clothing. No, I don't want to see these ridiculous ads. I guess because of my browsing history, I am constantly getting ads relating to things that are /not/ child friendly.

congratulations! :D i played neopets back when i was 11. i was 11 so i didn't know how the hell to save neopoints or really do anything. after a few months of playing, the pages loaded funny, i got sick of there being nothing in shops, i was too afraid to talk to anyone, and of course, the endless advertisements. (at least with a ga you can get rid of these, and they are less obnoxious.) i quit, but i didn't know how to delete my account. because i'm weird, i feel bad there's pets that haven't been fed in 8 years but not bad enough where i would ever go on again. i like these pets more and subeta is a lot more adult friendly. you say ASS on neopets and it's all over. xD

I used to play a lot, but it started going downhill for me when they changed the artwork of the pets. It all became MORE childish than I'd be willing to accept. -.- I adopted out all of my coveted pets so that someone else could appreciate them, because I no longer could. But it was for the best; Subeta seems to be far more fair, with (for the most part) a mature and friendly community. I also like that if an issue does arise, the staff is easy to get a hold of. And the artwork here blows my mind.

I tried getting back into Neo... like in 2008-2009 but man oh man the site just.... no too strict about everything, dressing up pets is so tacky and a little too childish. :/ You couldn't roleplay there anymore... it was impossible to make a decent post without being told you're saying something inappropriate. :/ Not to mention 3 years before they iced my account for no reason.... I gave up on the site, it's just horrible now. Congrats to you for finally leaving.

Congrats on leaving! ^_^ I've been slowly losing interest there for months, but haven't officially quit yet. I've also played for a long time, so I don't really want to leave, but I definitely agree that it's gone downhill in recent years! I'm thinking that I'll eventually just stop checking in there. I barely log on as it is. It's too hard to chat because of all the filters and I'm tired of having to pay real money for all the cool stuff. At least here, I can get CSC with sP, so I don't /have/ to spend real money if I don't want to.

I still play because their flash games are amazing ;_; I could play Destruct-o-match for HOURS! I have a bunch of r99's just gathering dust in my gallery too..mostly because the resellers on there are total jackasses and I'd rather sell to a collector (so hard to find those though..)

If I was able to log into my main (dont remember the birthday I signed up with) I would still log in just to play NeoQuest.

I could literally sit there and play NeoQuest and that one game where you pass the ball around until it explodes on somebody, for hours. So unhealthy.

I tried to play Neopets again recently but it didn't really appeal to me anymore. All I liked to do anyway was play slots and I won the jackpot once but didn't have much luck after that :/

I logged in for the first time in ages yesterday because Subeta was down and just urgh. I didn't even know what to do any more, I just can't find myself to care. I've been playing for nearly 9 years but all my friends left and I ran out of stuff to aim for because there was barely any new avatars and talking on the boards just wasn't fun any more because of the cliques and how little you could say so I was literally just going on to do dailies. Then I got into Subeta and got really into it this year so I basically stopped going onto Neo altogether.

It's disappointing because I've been playing so long and I did have some really great friends on there at one point but hopefully I'll find some equally good friends here :)

I still play neo. I can't leave my unconverteds. Too much time spent on them. But I enjoy subeta just as much ^-^ So have fun, enjoy the amazing artwork subeta has to offer c:

i've been playing on and off for about 10 years but it started going downhill when they revamped the site and added the pet wardrobe. like, i understand that it was a feature many people (including myself) had wanted over the years but there were so many other ways to do it. they even got rid of the various poses that made painting your pets so much fun!

not to mention all the advertising. there really is such a thing as too much... but what would have made it SLIGHTLY better would have been if the ads changed up a bit instead of having to hear about the same spongebob game from years ago on the nick arcade every time you change what you're playing

i stopped playing on neo once i made this account (it hasn't been very long i know) and i feel like this is going to be a permanent switch. i first started playing subeta around 5-6 years ago but went back to neo because the site wasn't really to my liking. but coming back to see how much it's improved in the time it took neo to just collapse, it just shows which is the better site to be on

My account on NP is about 11years (maybe?), i havn't touched it in years though. I cant bring myself to delete it.

I stoppeda playing neopets about 5 or 6years ago. They were banning people for mAking roleplay boards that gave out Aim/skype/off cite places. That rrally made me mad because i found so many rpers there. Then they made it where you couldnt even neomail rps with 'inappropriate Terms'. You couldnt say 'underwear' or have any typr of romantic rp, (kissing gf/bf not xxx) I was 16 or 17 at the time. Founx it really stupid so i went to gaia for a bit until i foumd subeta!

Like everyone was saying the adds were getting ridiculouS! It was impossible to get points and the dress up was stupid! I feel the siet went from being early/mid teens to early grade school (6yr-10yr). At the time it made me so mad! I still am honesty.

Lemme just say this: Ever since NeoPets sold out to Viacom for loads of greens, the site has gone down the crapper.

Congrats you left, though! I left years ago, and haven't looked back since. Many of my old RP partners from ages ago moved to Subeta, actually.

I left that site about five years ago. When they made all the new changes, it got too confusing to play. I also realized that I was wasting too much of my time.
