Congrats on leaving Neopets!I ended up quitting because of being hacked and frozen in 2006.I went on a long hiatus because I was so sick of them becoming so overly strict and acting like small kids were the only ones supposed to be on the site. Of course a lot of these changes were because Adam and Donna sold to some stupid company,and that stupid fatass CEO Doug Dohring ruined it to hell.I got sick of the Artificial Inflation on so many items and how it was nearly impossible to get anything decent.It seemed likes it takes years to get one single decent PB on there or a Potion. I was also sick of the stupid report happys,people being abusive and pretending to be mods when they didn't have the right to be one. And rude snotty people on the forums themselves being ugly toward others because being rich and better than everyone.

I especially got sick of these assholes telling victims of hackings"No you weren't hacked! You were scammed!" bullshit to their faces despite evidence that proved otherwise,such as not having internet access for weeks.TNT was just as bad,using that stupid No You Weren't You Scammed guide some idiot posted as the absolute gospel,and never warned anyone about cookie grabbers or fake links and fake login pages when they were reported. I highly suspect that some of these accounts telling the victims this were in fact dummy accounts owned by staff.

I once got a stupid warning when I confronted a couple of stupid bitches who was attacking another user because her account was hacked. Now when you go to the forums,its like watching paint dry. Its so boring now. And the annoying ads,especially stupid ads way at the bottom. My computer was compromised to the point that after having it repaired twice,it finally died because of all the viruses and malware picked up from those stupid ads.But those were my main reasons for quitting. And the guild leader of this supposedly well known guild turned out to be a bitch,stripped me of my job over her stupid shit and never told me anything.She wouldn't even rank me up even after all the work I did for months.I don't think they would've done anything to her if I had reported her.

Neo sucks. I joined in 2000 so I was a member for a long time. All the ads are obnoxious, the layout is confusing, and the forums are a shit hole. Last I looked it was like a zoo of 8 year-olds threatening to report each other. Everything nice costs more than you can feasibly make there in a year. Oh and the updated pets where they look like kids cartoons and you can dress them up? Omg. No. The only positive on the site are the games. That's the only part where Neo is better than Subeta. Last I really played on Neo is probably 2007 or so? I used to log on once a year for a while just to keep my account open. No interest to go back, really, except for some of the games.

I am also a long-time user of neopets, about 12.5 years is my oldest account. I only go on to do my dailies at this point and every day its disappointing, so that's really it. Silly thing is, I was going pretty hard at it when I found subeta, (through tumblr) and subeta is far more rewarding, there's always so many things to do! Plus, on neopets I've been trying to get certain pets for like, EVER and I still don't have them :(. I've been playing subeta for 2 months and I already have all the pets I've LOVED since I took the time to "study" the site before signing up. :3

Yeah, I definitely back your switch, though I just don't have the guts to delete my accounts myself! Maybe if I have kids one day and neopets is still around I'll give my old accounts to them.... bahaha yeah, IF neopets is still around lol

I joined neopets a long time ago, too. It's been some four years since I last played "for real", but I still check on it a few times a year. Needless to say, I'm always disappointed. I've made some really great friends there, actually. I still talk to them regularly, though none of us still plays neo. I am grateful for getting to know them through there, we would have never met otherwise.

I joined Neopets ages ago and just...left after they brought in the cash and all that crap. I think I left ages ago too, probably in highschool. I hated all of the extra bs and howchildish everyone seemed.

I've been on Neopets off and on since I was in the third grade. It's alright, but I much prefer Subeta. <3

I've been on neopets for over 10 years now but was frozen on my main account about 7 years ago? After finally making a new account and watching most of my friends leave I kept losing interest. I definitely have grown to dislike the community of neopets over the years, as things have changed. I have to say, Subeta has a much more inviting and friendly community!

Atleast here I can restock an item if I want to and actually make sP. On neopets unless you are great at games or have a seriously awesome internet connection, you aren't going to get much. So happy I found Subeta :)

neopets is boring nowadays but it's still nice to talk to interesting people who play it, once you learn to ignore the annoying ones

Oh wow, so many people had left Neo here. I don't think I can ever quit, spent too much time and money there xD But neo is definitely getting boring, that's why I came back here again The battledome had no update for at least half a year, and not to mention the lack of plots. e.e

I'm always on Neopets. I find it easier to use that Subeta, but that may be simply because I am new here.

oh my god, i just went to see if my account was still there and IT TOTALLY IS. holy crap, i started playing in 2005 and i don't think i've been on since… idk, maybe 2009? i don't remember being on neopets in high school, so i must have quit around that time. my poor pets look so sad! geez, i remember working so hard to save up the money for my pets' paintbrushes! it really is so much harder to make money there; quests and restocking were not a viable way to earn a profit at all. it was all about doing your dailies and playing games every. single. day. and just putting it in the bank bit by bit by teeny tiny bit.

Meh. I do both. I adore how much you can code your pets here, but I still like dressing up on neo. I don't know if I'll ever get tired of that.

Glad you found something you enjoy more, though! That's always important - it's NEVER fun being annoyed with something you go to to relax with. That was chickensmoothie for me. After a while there, I HATED chickensmoothie... I'm never going back. Ever. :l

I made an account in 2008, tried to get access between 2010-2013 until I finally gave up. I could tell my items, birthday and subject of my password, but I didn't register my e-mail back then so they didn't helped me. >_> Some mods (?) / ticket answerers told to not 'annoy' them or that they will contact me if something is possible or that it will never be possible for me to get access to MY account. Whose e-mail I still use. Though I somewhat played from 2010-2012 with a new account, but there were many things that made me dislike this site. Idk, I never really got into Neopets even though I've known it for a long time. It was an entertaining site, but I've missed a lot of things I didn't know I could have like human avatars or long forum posts. :D

I left pretty recently when I found subeta as an alternative. Realized at some point I was just doing dailies and other repetitive tasks over and over trying to get the random avatars just because they were collectible. Plus the stuff that costs real money can't be got any other way, and the recent items have a sickeningly cute art style (or maybe I just grew out of it). Cheers to the rest of you reformed neopians (if you can call going to another pet site instead reformed) ;)

My account there is well over a decade old and it started getting too commercialized and less fun after a couple years and since then just went further and further downhill.

ok so neopets was my thing that i did when i was a kid, from the time i was about 11 all through high school. if my original account hadn't been iced for exactly no reason, it would be over 10 years old. i LOVED that stupid game, i spent so much time on there every single day that my mom used to ground me off of the computer just so i would get off neopets. but i was an only child, i didn't have many friends, and i didn't have any video games. so it was my favorite thing to do ever.

like everyone else is saying... after they sold, they started getting seriously crappy. they had always had issues insofar as customer service goes, but it just got 10x worse after that. When they converted all the pets i quit for good, and eventually found out my account had been frozen while i was inactive and I wasn't able to get it back.

idk i was rlyy heartbroken about it though, and i signed back up again a couple of months ago because i was determined to get all the cool pets i never could as a kid. cause it didn't matter if i spent 14 straight hours playing flash games until i was dizzy (which i would do), i could NEVER make more than about 100k. i got all my cool pets my sheer luck, and never got a baby aisha which was like one of the first things i ever wanted.

i figured if i came back as a 22 year old it would be easier but fuck no. their games are HARD, and I call bullshit on anyone who says you can make significant np by playing games. You can't. you have to know how to gamble in food club and the stock market, or else you have to be willing to compete with the really hardcore people who cheat and use auto buyers that automatically RS/sell items/move the NP for them while they're logged out, or the people brave enough to try laundering np's

and personally i suck at both the stock market and food club, i can't get crap at either one, and i suck at flash games (plus they make me straight up wanna puke after about 15 mins now because of the animation) and like, i'm so frustrated i already gave up. i had a bunch of cool pets i wanted, mostly just the aisha and a mutant gnorbu tho (omg they're so cute what the heck i wish we had a thing like that on subeta) ... sigh w/e screw those guys

on another note, subeta has like never been able to piss me off ever, i moved over here after the neopets sale and i've loved it since day 1. i know a lot of ppl complain a lot and there's stuff to be annoyed with, but after everything i went through with neopets, subeta can do no wrong as long as they keep doing what they're doing, lmao. plus let's face it, we have the best avatars on the entire internet.

I used to play Neo, it was introduced to me by my cousin.

I liked playing with my pet and playing some of the games. I couldn't make too much NP, but that didn't bother me. I actually wrote an article for their newspaper and it got in, that was one of my biggest accomplishments, haha. I learned how to do HTML on that site, and I learned a lot about photo-editing with petpages. I made my own mini "website" where I made icons for people, and I was so proud of that! I also met a bunch of cool people on one of the boards, and we created our own guild. I haven't been back in a while, but I don't think those same people are around anymore.

I honestly think I just grew out of it. And compared to Subeta, it's just so commercialized and... honestly not the same. I couldn't even RS or have fun with immersing yourself into the economy. I made a lot of memories and learned a lot of things, but Subeta just has that... feel to it.
