Can I just say that I am so, so, so grateful to the developers for giving us such excellent LGBTQIA+ representation on this site? I just joined at the end of April of this year, and I literally cried a little bit when I saw that Quentin is nonbinary. It felt so affirming to my own nonbinary identity! There are ace characters, a trans character, a lesbian couple, and those are just the ones I have stumbled across so far. This site is truly amazing. Thank you, Subeta, for being so ahead of the curve in giving us such great representation! It means so much to me, and probably to many others as well. <3
I'm a pansexual transman who identified as agender for years before making the leap to transitioning, and... I echo this sentiment heartily omfg. ;^; having the representation so deeply baked into the site like that has always made me feel like I could come here as a safe retreat from the real-life realities of how we get treated and talked about. It's just wonderful to know I can roam around the site without the worry of suddenly coming across some hateful nonsense, there aren't a lot of places online where I can let my guard down about that stuff.
also Quentin is an absolute babe, right?! they're my favourite character by a mile.
There are also Ian Asmodeus and Jaxon Skelly who are a couple. They were involved in two amazing plots. This Subeta Wiki article about Jaxon. has links to the two plots - the second is the reason for the Morostide 2018 Plot Shop on the site.
I was shipping Ian and Jaxon before it was official. xD I loved the wedding for Esther and Emma, they are both two of my favorite NPCs on here. They suit each other so well with their love of nature!

I'd like to think that Subeta played a bit of a part in helping me realize who I am as a human. <3
Also forever bummed I missed the big lesbian wedding of the summer (Esther and Emma) as I was on a long hiatus when it happened!
- omg Quentin IS such a babe! I literally always do their quests first (after Shinwa obvs) because I have the biggest crush on them and I just enjoy interacting with them <3
- I had no idea about Jaxton and Asmodeus; I'm pretty new around here, so I hadn't discovered that yet. I love that so much! This site really is amazing!
the Subeta team doesn't know me but sometimes I find an item or read a description and just know that I am absolutely resonating with someone out there, haha. This goes for things like lgbtqia+ as well as very niche interests in television shows or games. I really love the thought and care that goes in to including so much diversity here ^.^
I remember being surprised by a certain item released as a prize for the 2014 Morostide plot because all the romantic subtext went completely over my head. At the time I was still new to that sort of stuff and learning to take it more seriously since I grew up around people using "gay" as an insult at school. I also remember being confused about Quentin before then, to the point where I had to look at their article on the Subetapedia, only to see them being referred to with gender-neutral pronouns. At the time, I didn't know people could identify that way, but I just sort of accepted it then, thinking that maybe some people preferred that. I do think that the Subetapedia article and their mention on the Quest NPC list could do with changing to say they identify as nonbinary or agender, though, since I think those were written before those terms were more known.
It's nice that asexuality was brought up as well, since I eventually realised I was ace. I was so happy when we had our first pride flag items and ace was included there.
Something I would like to see in the future are more items about NPCs who are LGBTQIA+ and what they identify as. Like, maybe plushies of them with their flag colours, or books about their experiences with it. I guess it depends on if the staff want to confirm any of the MLM/WLW's orientations or if they want to leave it up to interpretation, though, but I personally would like to know if someone is gay or bi or pan rather than just assume it.
I think a lot of players would like this. You could suggest it in the Suggestions forum.
I'm glad there's so much asexual rep, or that it exists at all because it's not a thing a lot of people talk about and there's almost no relatable characters in any media and the few that are always also aromantic. I mean, I was past 30 when I finally figured it out, and I had never even known it was a thing until then. I just always thought there was something wrong with me. Younger me would have really appreciated it and maybe learned something. <3
Honestly this site has always been pretty amazing for LGBTQ+ rep. Happy pride month. :)
Love this 😍
Happy pride, everyone!

Subeta's long been a winner regarding LGBT rep in my eyes, speaking as someone who came here in the misty mid-aughts as a neopets refugee. I was so shocked that I was allowed to say out loud that my little pet OCs had boyfriends. I spent so much time trawling for MxM RPs in the roleplay forums... Thank you subeta for helping teen me figure some shit out.
Really great to see how well the site has embraced the full LGBT spectrum over the years and frankly how far ahead of the curve subeta has been all along. Thanks for giving all of us sad confused kids a place to be ourselves in a world that could be cruel and painful otherwise. Happy pride, indeed.
- I was on Neopets back when you could get frozen for mentioning any type of LGBTQIA+ spectrum-adjacent anything, so coming to this site, even years later, was definitely a breath of fresh air. Subeta has indeed been very far ahead of the curve! I wish I had discovered this site years ago.
This really is one of, if not the most accepting site with regards to this. It’s incredible and it’s one of the reasons why I still love the site even years on.
oh absolutely! and it's so normalized - as it should be. on another note, i love how we can make our pets genderless. no other pet site i've been on has had that feature and i love my nongendered babs so much ;_;
he / they
let me tell you, when i found a genderfluid pride wearable, i was absolutely. i rarely ever see genderfluid anything, even in the lgbt community. it helps make me feel less alone
OM NOM NOM
Yes!!! And while there are a few losers that hang around for some reason and say really negative things I'm glad they get the response they deserve. 💖 It makes me happy to see hateful people being treated the way they deserve to be treated.
