being honest, being lgbt friendly was one of the things that made the site seem attractive when i learned about it. definitely happy with the available wearables, to boot!
it's taken neopets until the last few years to finally let you talk about being gay, i think it was around 2020 or so? talk about being behind the times! i used to roleplay a lot on neopets as a kid, and it was so hard. the word filters would pick up anything that even might be questionable, and you had to anticipate that it might pick up something and copy your reply before you posted it. everything would be super mundane and not against the TOS pretty much at all, but the word filter detected something that resembled a banned topic or black-listed word and prevent you from posting it. can't tell you how many times i had to just guess what it was even picking up and rewrite whole posts.
i've really appreciated subetapets a lot for those reasons; i found it multiple years ago (longer ago than i made this account, i believe i had one before this that i forgot about) but haven't really been active until recently, so i'm not sure quite how long it's been openly lgbt+ inclusive, but 2020-ish is still way behind. i really love that there's a pet site that is geared towards and older crowd and lets you actually talk about being lgbt+ without automatically labeling it as inappropriate
