Hello there! We're just getting into the season a day earlier with a reminder of spring cleaning...
Six years ago, we moved away from an outdated resource-intensive shop system and into our current system. At the time of the change, a tool was offered to move items from the outdated "legacy shops" and into the new shops. We plan to permanently retire this tool on June 19th, 2022, and at that time, all legacy shops and galleries and their contents will be unrecoverable. No compensation will be offered for lost items after that time.
You will know you still have a legacy shop or gallery if it has a ! next to it under Your Shops. If you click on a legacy shop, it will also take you to a page reminding you that the system has retired. If your shop doesn't have a ! next to it, OR you created your shop(s) within the last six years, you don't need to worry about this message!
We urge you to please migrate your legacy shops, if you still have any, to the current system as soon as possible. You can find the guide for migrating the content of your legacy shops at this link EDIT although some information may be outdated as some options have been deprecated over the years. As an extra step, we also suggest making a list of the contents before you move anything. Please don't hesitate to reach out via the Ticket Center if you encounter any problems while moving anything over. Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you for the heads up!!
Is there an easy way to check that our existing shops or galleries are not legacy? I see in the linked thread that legacy shops will have a little ⚠ symbol next to them and I just want to make sure this is still accurate. I just don't remember converting my shop and gallery to the new system at all and want to double check that I did LOL. Cue me being extra paranoid, I guess. 😂
[edit] Hello, scrolling people! Here's the answer to my concern so you don't have to dig through the thread for it! We gotchu!
And thank you to everyone who responded to my concern, you all rock! <3
I thought all the legacy shops were already shut down. Shrugs
Who would keep them anyway? You can't change the prices in the them and you can't utilize the space in them.
I have the same question! I don't see that symbol by my shops, so hopefully I'm in the clear.

I dont know if my shops are legacy so I dont know if I should just stick everything I have in my vault :(
Thank you for buying from my shops
What i sell goes towards minions
so thank you very much :)
3 minions to go
Same. I wanted to make sure my gallery isn't Legacy (and I thought this had been done...idk circa 2019).
If your account is younger than 6 years (when the system changed) then you're fine and don't have any legacy shops c:
Oo thank goodness thank you I can start breathing again
Thank you for buying from my shops
What i sell goes towards minions
so thank you very much :)

Wow, has it really been 6 years already since the change?
It's been plenty long enough for people to have moved their stuff, if they haven't by now they probably either quit or just don't care enough to do so. It seems reasonable enough to just finally delete it all instead of holding on to irrelevant site data.
I don't give 2 shits about this shop. How about the Free Shop that was promised MONTHS ago? This makes ALL Subetans happy... so why is it ghosted??

How could we check to see if the existing shops or galleries are legacy...? I think I made the transition back then, but I´m not 100% sure.
Ditto, I don't think I have a legacy shop, but I'd rather be 100% sure

The ! is still there for legacy shops, so if you don't see it in your shop list then you're fine.
I was too lazy to port mine over to the new system so I just left them, and then gradually stopped playing Subeta. I'm still surprised it's player responsibility to deal with this instead of just automating the process for any remaining shops to avoid all this panic and potential loss.

Looks like the level of fear of losing everything is fairly high, despite the description of the '!' symbol. Some people realistically aren't going to remember whether or not they spent 5 minutes to convert their shop 6 years ago, so it's understandable.
It would be helpful to provide two clearly marked screenshots in the news post that show exactly how a legacy shop is currently appearing vs how a safe shop is currently appearing to a user.
Good. It has been so many years since the original announcement.
Please, please, please check out the link provided in the original post, it's seriously so helpful: https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/854270/New-Shop-Guides
If your shop has a warning icon by your shop, you need to deal with it.
See the icon? The ! in a triangle? That means it's an old shop.
If not? You're fine! :)
[edit]Pretty much:
If you joined after ~May 2016, you are fine.
If you do not have a shop at this link, you are fine. https://subeta.net/legacy_shops_migrate.php (or, pretty sure that's still the tool...)
Thank you for that breakdown! I left for a number of years, but I logged in every six months or so to retain names. I thought my legacy shops were forced closed years ago. Thanks to your comment, I know that I will not be affected by this change. And I agree, it's too bad the process isn't automated. Life changes kept me away for years, and I'd be quite upset if I returned to empty shops/galleries. I recently discovered that already happened to me with the reading drive points.

Ahhh, I wish galleries for deceased users could be converted over to the new system :(
Ugh to my procrastination. starts sending the mounds of stuff to the Vault this may take a few days.
If your shops are more than six years old, check for a ! next to them under Your Shops. If you click on a legacy shop, it will also remind you that it's from the retired system. If it's a newer shop than that, you don't have to worry!
It was last opened in September 2021, and we generally try to keep 10~ months between re-openings so we don’t flood the market.
If we did it automatically and people lost items in the transition, they'd be upset when they came back. As well, it'd take programmer time for (at this point) an old feature. In terms of programmer time, it's not really worth the trade-off.
Fortunately the guide has examples, and I did link it in the post!
