I know what comes in depends on how many people are online but I regularly restock throughout the morning, afternoon and evening UK time. Over the past week or so, though, it's like the rarities of what comes in have been adjusted so hardly anything worth restocking turns up - even shops which were good sources of items are now filled with worthless junk.

Yes, there are a number of items which are supposedly rare but if it costs 1K sP to restock them and they resell for 2K sP they aren't worth bothering with unless you're buying them directly for a quest.

I think the shops stock way too many items to even bother trying to RS.

I agree. In the old days very old items used to be retired to make room for new ones. Since then new items were continually added so quests don't make a dent in them.

Another problem is that newer items added tend to be a lot more expensive to buy. For example, some of the new chocolate pets in Candy Shack are over 5K sP.

PS I apoligise if I pinged METROID accidentally while trying to use the Edit button

I agree with both and . I think they were supposed to overhaul restocking in the future. Can't wait until that happens. Would make restocking worthwhile and fun again.

I shop in Spells Galore exclusively and have noticed that there seems to be more restocks were nothing changes that much.

It would be nice if some items were looked into for more uses so that more items get used up more. It feels like it has been a long time since we got achievements outside of SBQ, and I don't think I've ever seen more scrolls be made. I feel like it's just questing that makes restockables "worth" it right now.

The main issue is there’s little to no demand for restockables

When I was on here years ago restocking was super profitable, but now there’s an influx of items and no reason to buy them.

We should do another restock war, but instead of simply buying the items for points, you can also turn in R99 and below to get points (the amount given could scale by rarity). I feel like that would create enough demand to at least solve some of these issues in the short term.

Need these, please hit me up!

Restocking does seem to not really be a get rich quick method nowadays.

Instead you have to restock a bunch of items that are over 10k, sell them and slowly amass sp that way.

There are some exceptions though. Such as potions for new pets colors.

still costs a lot of sp even though it was released several months ago.

When I first started here I made a killing rsing pet elixirs but then they changed how they stock and it wasn't worth it anymore to me. Mostly I did it because that's what I'd done on neo to earn sp. I tried rsing in other shops over the years here and there but found that quests made decent enough sp that I do that instead. I can't help but wonder if maybe with the new neo users coming in that there are also more people now restocking than before. I do like how a lot of things are buyable vs unbuyable now but something that's harder to get is a little more fun to have imo xD

When I'm restocking I make sure I'm in the shop I want when new stock comes in. Just over a week ago there could be several items worth restocking appearing in various shops although somebody else might click on them first so I got the sold out message. Now the good items just aren't coming in at the rate they were before.

PS: Restocks seem to be a lot better today. It's getting a balance between dozens of R99s turning up in a day and some quest items becoming so expensive that it has a negative effect on questing.

An item drive would be fantastic! I suppose the prizes would have to be pretty fabulous for people to chuck hundreds and thousands of items for a reward, but I can see it happening. Would hopefully clear up vaults well enough. Like the chance bags for weapons but .. more accessible for the average user. :3 .. heck, make a chance bag with things people want. We already have frag crystals. We wouldn't have to create a new currency either. Just stick the bags in the frag shop and people will frag more.

I think this kind of item drive would be too much for the staff to cope with at the moment. Pet jobs were delayed for several months and we've still only had one new job in over a month.

In a news post dated 22nd Sept Amber said

More jobs will be added throughout the year. I apologize for not getting any out during the Summer like originally promised!

We've also been waiting years for the promised tea house, Lower Westside map and revamped gardens.

Retiring a lot of junk items would be easier while reducing the price of ridiculously priced items would also help. (I've just checked the Atebus shop. At the moment there are 11 Purple Retro Galaxy Space Domes in stock. They are R59, cost 6,693 sP to restock and are selling in user shops for 1,499 sP)

I think the alternative would be the creation of chance bags to add in the frag shop. So not an event, but the introduction of a chance bag and everyone who wants one does the fragging.

I wonder what priority restocking is being given. I mean, I want the tea house as does everyone else. :) I just think one of the more core features of the site, like restocking, should take priority over maps. Plus, I thought maps had more to do with art. Restocking is more about coding.

Even with chance bags added to the frag shop not many people are going to restock Purple Retro Galaxy Space Domes from the Atebus Shop. Or any other ridiculously priced stuff which is selling for a lot less in user shops.

As far as I know we don't have a full time programmer at the moment. The problem with saved wardrobe outfits not deleting was first reported on 09/30/21 and nobody has had time to fix this bug yet. I think any new feature which involves coding is out of the question at the moment.

you're right, they won't restock them from the shop, but the hope is the supply would be removed, hence driving up demand; and with proper adjustments to restocking items in the shops, there can be real change done to prices of restockable items

I don't think the answer is retiring items because that would mean newer users don't have access to these. Sure, I can see questing having a more narrow pool of items hence driving up demand, but I don't think retiring items is the way. It would be a temporary fix if there's still 10 in stock of purple space domes, really.

If people want a lot of junk items for fragging they'll use the vending machines. Chance bags might might be good for increasing the price of Wizard Tokens, though.

I hope we can get new programmers soon. I'm surprised hiring hasn't been done yet.... The world situation forced many people to stay at home, so people could have been hired & lots of coding could have been done during that time before the vaccine arrived. I saw someone who coded an entire GAME during the early pandemic months.

Perhaps some retired items could go in the frag shop chance bags so people could choose bags or one of the other items in stock. The chance bag items could be changed every so often.

So what fabulous prizes that people want do you suggest? The Suggestions forum is full of requests for items but there aren't enough artists to produce these along with new stuff for holidays and the quest shops.

I think that for some legal reason or other Keith can only hire people who live in the US. If so, this limits the options for finding people with the required skills who would like to work on a pet site.

Restocks were good again for a few hours in the morning (UK time) on the 9th. Then the site lagged horribly for a while and since then they've gone back to being dreadful. It's reached the stage where I don't bother looking in most shops any more.

I agree RSing is broken, one of the reasons is that the shops are now RSing on a regular timed scheduled...

Aside from that, yeah they could really do with an upgrade. Perhaps shops could clear after every restock? That would mean that things don't sit there.
