Before I start, this is going to be a mainly positive thread and I want that to stay that way. If you want to bitch about it, make your own thread.

I gotta be honest, I have no idea why everyone is so mad about a bunch of wolf drawings. Things change, and revamped site art helps the site to stay present and not become outdated (ie. other petsites). Both wolves have shown how much subeta art has come in the past 10-13 years. There's amazing improvements in line work and shading. Sure, the anatomy may be off, but a drawing isn't always going to be perfect, and animals are often considered tricky to master.

And yes, I get not everyone likes a revamp. You are allowed to tell us what you hate, but what isn't acceptable is when you go and just straight out bully anyone who doesn't agree with your opinion. That's just cyberbulling. So yeah I may not like how thin the lines are on the revamped charlie costume set, but i'm not sending death threats about it.

Basically, In conclusion:

No one sent death threats. Just a bunch of bullshit in my inbox. Anyway you'll get a lot of likes for this post because it praises something that the majority of people like. And the ones who don't are just a small minority that shouldn't matter. I mean you've literally thrown anyone who said anything negative to say under the bus. Aka me. This post is about me. Your opinion on this matter is simply popular, not positive/negative. So uh, if you were trying to state a popular opinion, good job and I enjoyed your TED talk.

So . . . why are you commenting about something that you don't understand, or care about? The revamped wolves were some of the very first on Subeta, and many people have fond memories of them. Revamps always upset some people and it's understandable. Good to have a space to mourn your memories.

I fucking hate the "It's just a ____" argument. It's a strawman.

Also, you can't control what people say on threads, nor dictate that only good feelings get to join and post.

Hooo Kay... I'm afraid I have to side with on the Mysterious Pendant revamp. While the old wolf was cartoony, the new version is really "off" anatomy wise for attempting to be a realistic wolf. Not only that but the pendant itself is now missing from the overlay. I'm supposing it was omitted so people could use the wolf demon thing by itself, but for people who paid cash for the collection to get it, the loss is annoying.

The Woodcutters Wolf Tooth revamp I'm OK with. I'm not thrilled with the color change, but I like the pose and the removal of the avatar leg cutouts.

First of all I apologize for the possible mistakes in my comment. I use English as a second language.

I'm quite a new user on here so I cannot judge much the revamps but their reaction is natural. It's change aversion. When you're so used to something, which gets to change so suddenly you might feel negatively about it... and that's something that you can't help. Time would normally fix this, some might get used to this change, some might not.

Now perhaps the revamped items could have been kept truer to the original to make the transition less harsh? Or the team could have let the users have the last word on a revamp (polls, comments...) before making it definitive? The latter suggestion would be time-consuming for everybody though, however it's always nice to have a feedback from the users : it would be logical since they are the ones who get to use the items, moreover it would create even greater fidelity and proximity with the team.

The revamped Wolf Pendant has issues. One, the overlay doesn't even show the HA wearing the necklace. Inconsistency. The old one had the necklace on to "summon" the wolf, same should be done here. Second, those paws are jacked up. Seriously, they look more like stylized wolves you'd see on Deviantart. Wolf toes are not pretty by any means, they're purposely long-toed and almost web-like to be able to spread wide. This enables a wolf to not sink in deep snow.

Regarding the Wolf Cutter's overlay...ohboy. The decision to change the colour palette was not a good call imo. The old one had the more iconic palette of a grey wolf. This new palette makes it look like one of those stupid werewolves from the Twilight movies. The facial expression makes it even more apparent. Ick. It does get the toe structure correctly at least, and does fix the old one's questionable anatomy. But it's also changed the mood and tone. Sure, it fits better with the fact that it is based on the Red Riding Hood tale; that might be why it looks the way it does now compared to the old one. It's less of the life-like wolf we had before (despite the old one's chicken legs), and it's now a cartoony wolf OC. I dunno, I'd like a compromise of a new item based on the old Wolf Cutter's overlay, updated proportions but maintaining the relaxed look. Official item, CWs aren't the end all fix all.

Overall, is allowed to be upset. If we didn't allow discussion about revamps or expect everyone to okay with everything, then the site would not grow or improve. What they initially said was fine. Not the best way worded, but kinder than most things that have ever been said. They didn't like it, they felt it didn't look like a wolf or was made worse. It's everyone who responded to them that blew everything out of proportion and should be held guilty. I especially loved how a couple of users antagonized them for being a furry (even if the position of being a furry has no relevancy in the discussion of the revamps, but since it was brought up), but are appalled if someone doesn't use the correct pronoun. Talk about the community guidelines/rules/bs being hypocritical.

I don't understand how this topic is ok? it's literally targeting people
