I love that the forum pulse is back, but since it has been rolled out for awhile now and there are a few buggy things happening I figured that it was time to post a report. Hope this is in the right place!

Editing preferences does not actually change anything - this has been happening since it first became available for me and in looking at The "Forum Pulse" Has Returned from the War.... :o others have been encountering the same issue. Every time I try to change my preferences by deselecting certain forums I don't care about and save the page, it reverts back. :(

While talking about the preferences page, I can opt into forums that I don't have access to, such as Mini-Mods, Temporary Mini Threads, Testers in the Subeta area. Not like that is working right now, but I thought I would mention it so it can be addressed alongside the other problem.

This happens to me on specific threads, like the Human Avatars Forum Games thread. Other threads will remain unchecked, but all the Human Avatar subforum ones check themselves again.

The same thing happens to me with the Chit Chat forums.

I have tried daily to add the Literature subforum to my pulse but it refuses to be added :(

i still have the problems stated in the first post -- i can't de/select subforums without messing with their parent forums, because the selection won't stick. i can't select "r200 advertising" by itself, i have to select "advertising." i can't deselect "avatar contests and games" without also deselecting "human avatars."

and actually, i did just deselect "human avatars", which deselected its children (contests and games, avatars, rate my avatar) a few hours ago, but the newest posts from "contests & games" are still showing up in the forum pulse.

[edit] 08/10 -- i unselected everything shortly after i originally made this post, and it's uh... still showing me the newest posts in battle > set advice?

i still see the newest post in "set advice" (like, i believe i saw Weapons that block freezes? show up when jess posted a few days ago) but that sub-forum is very slow so it's not a huge problem for me o:

[edit] edit - oct 21 just to confirm i wasn't misremembering -- sincere just posted on Planning for the Endgame (T10+ Guide) OUT OF DATE and it's shown up on my forum pulse. again, it's not a huge problem (or even really a problem at all, since it's just the set advice subforum and that gets a post once in a blue moon) but it is still A Thing That Happens :p

1/12/19 - still happening

Ever since the forum pulse fix I haven't had a forum pulse at all. I even went to preferences and hit update again and it didn't come back. I had a pulse before this (which sounds weird out of context)

I have a gold account and can't figure out what the forum pulse is, to even know if I have it or not.

Where does it show up? When does it show up? Can you give a link to it? A screenshot?

i'm not entirely sure my issue (i still get latest posts from set advice even though nothing is selected) is resolved because i saw Budget Guide to Tiers 1-4 OUT OF DATE pop up when someone posted on it, but i think ?? that's when you might've been working on it? s:
