I bet this has been suggested 1.000.000 times, and now it's suggested 1.000.001 times! Those plushies are just the cutest, and I love them since the first time they were released, and we def need a pet color.
My idea here is to follow the Blacklight and Harvest style: Recolor Sweetheart pets with peppermint, candy cane, christmas-y colors and themes, like Christmas Trees ornaments, gingerbread men, and maybe krampus-like stuff for our grumpier fellas? Nothing too busy or heavy, my suggestion of recoloring the sweetheart pets comes with that purpose, very tiny details, like the candy hearts and the candy collars they have. Please I don't want to put a giant red bow on top of a Ruffie's head neither. This would be relatively easy on the artist(s) and could look so awesome.
- Also it looks likes, from just over-reading the replies, that most users prefers a whole new color, not only a recolor of sweetheart, following the plushies or completly new poses -
We have colors for pretty much every Holiday: Harvest for Alegarten, Harvest & Reborn for Fireside, Steamwork for Masquerade, Nightmare for Morostide, Graveyard and Sweetheart for Survival and Glade for Vesnali. Glacier fits very well the winter part of Lumi, and Nostalgic for the whole... well, nostalgia element, but what about the festiveness? Even the angelic color people are mentioning doesn't says Luminaire to me like Graveyard does to Survival. Peppermint color is what we lack imo. Let's not forget many of these colors are super old and are almost finished, so with new colors the fun would never stop.
why overlays won't work: Unless you are paying the 500csc for submission + commission price for my pet, don't come here and suggest for me/us to do use overlays. Blacklight pets are old as balls and people always liked them. It's easy to say it could be an overlay and tbh every color could be a overlay with more or less imagination. "I don't find anything special about them so they shouldn't exist" Please suggest ways that would turn this more interest to you and the community in general. Not making it a recolor seems a very popular one so far.

I have a feeling it's going to happen this Luminaire.. they have been pushing those plushies too much..
It's not a color that I would use, but I'd still like to see it happen just because they've been doing these plushies for like a few years now at least. It would make sense to have it be a real pet color.

I'm going to be a party pooper and say that I really don't want to see anymore recolors of the special posed pets. Recolors of basic pets, sure, that's what I would expect. But recoloring pets that are supposed to be unique takes charm away from the original color and the new color.
Plus there's already pink and white pets. There's dawn, and then there's arid that already incorporates both colors. I really hate "get an overlay", but I feel this case warrants it. I would rather see recolors of colors/schemes we don't have yet.

Luminaire already has 3 special colours - angelic, nostalgic and glacier. As adorable as the peppermint pets are, I don't think Lumi needs another special pet colour when other holidays only have one, or none. Alegarten has no colours, never did. Harvest pets are a Fireside thing.
Personally, I'm not really sold on peppermint-coloured pets, even with how adorable the plushies are. Having the plushies pushed for a third year is a bit peculiar, but then again we also have the sweetydead plushies, so I wouldn't really take that as a superclear sign that we are 100% getting this colour this year.
I'm also not really fond of the idea of peppermint as a sweetheart recolour. D: It'd be odd and, to me, it would feel a bit meh and repetitive. Like making a skeletal pet colour when we already have some graveyard pets with skeletons showing, or an ice colour, when we have glacier pets.
Overall... I'd rather have aurora pets. ._. Sorry.
When I saw the title I thought of just red and white, which would be cool, but I think the plushies made real would be cool too ^_^
oh my gosh aurora pets O.O love that idea too. Does aurora have to be winter though? I believe you can see the aurora borealis well from as early as sept.

I'm not sure. Wiki says there have been photos taken of it in September too. I've seen the suggestion for aurora pets come up frequently in the suggestions forum, that's why I brought it up in my previous post. To me, it's a bit more interesting than sweetheart pets recoloured into peppermint colours. I'm going a bit off-topic, though. :'D
- I hadn't thought of them as being sweetheart recolours. I suppose even different poses would still be quite similar to sweetheart.
OP suggested that they be made as sweetheart recolours in the first post, kinda like blacklight and harvest colours. I was going off of that. :'D

Meh, never been fond of this idea. There's nothing really "special" about them except coloration and some minor patterns. With the special colors, there's so much more to the pet than a recolor (wings, fins, auras, ice, etc). Peppermint pets as they appear in the plushies just don't seem unique enough to me.
I like the idea of a peppermint color as long as the pets are based off of the current plushies and not just a redo of another pet color that we already have.
That being said, there are some pets that need to be caught up with special colors cough Zentus cough
Really, I was hoping for a Harvest color for Fireside this year seeing as my babies are still in just basic colors. Come on...

Plus, y'know, by the logic you just put forward, an Aurora pet would be unnecessary and repetitive because we already have Spectrum, Blacklight, and Galactic. So, uh... Yeah =/
Full support as a new colour, but I'm not convinced that it would work as a recolour of the sweetheart ones (maybe it'd look too similar if they had those poses)
