I'm photosensitive and sometimes playing Subeta at night can be hard on my eyes even if I turn down my monitor brightness. Youtube's night mode (where it makes the normally white background black) really helps and I think there should be an option for this on Subeta too.

This is such a good idea! I really like the glacier layout subeta has but all the white and bright blue's huty my eyes at night lol

I don't know if it can be done but yes please please. I've always wanted a "night mode" option. I'd mostly use it during the day too as I dislike lull white space with no use. It's hard on the eyes.

That makes me think nighttime versions of the layouts should exist when you have the night mode on. Like with stars and nocturnal creatures, streetlights on, building windows glowing, the aurora in the arctic, etc. Aywas does this with their layouts. I'm probably pushing it requesting this as well but it would be really pretty if done right.

Yes please, massive support! I'm a night person, I work graveyard, I keep my windows covered. Light is my enemy. Please no with all the white screen.

I love the idea of night versions of all the themes too (stars and aurora in Arctic Frost _) but I'd also hope for a 24-hour dark version of the site. Because no time is a good time for screaming sunball (or bright screens that emulate it).

This is a good suggestion that seems fairly easy to implement. Please make it optional only, if you decide to go through with this.

Another way to do this is to make custom CSS available or to release a new Layout Scheme.

I use Custom CSS to change the background colork and an all black background is no easier on my eyes than all white, but I support having at least some alternate option anyway

I'd kill for a night mode!

Just release a new layout that has dark grey tones with off-white text! (Absolute white on absolute black is actually a terrible design choice, but shades of grey would work wonderfully!

The top art could definitely be something aurora related!

i'm pretty sure staff members have mentioned this being a possibility once the site layout and code structure is redone, as it should be much more efficient to work with. not sure what the timeline is on that, though. but almost definitely this will not be added until then.

I don't quite see them changing all the layouts for night mode but having a night mode layout should be fairly easy.

I feel it would better to be able to toggle it on and off at will. Not everyone would want the site to go dark as soon as it hits 7pm and others, like you, wouldn't want it changing back to white in the morning (going from light to dark so suddenly would be even more harsh). With an optional switch users can change it when they're comfortable.

Saying to change it black was inaccurate on my part. The night mode on YT is more a really, really, really, REALLY dark gray.

Even if it's as simple as just making a new layout called night mode I would totally support this. There are definitely times when I've had to get off subeta because it makes my eyes hurt with all the BRIGHT haha. I have bad eye problems and I think having a night mode would be amazing to help some of us see everything a bit better :3

It was past my bedtime and I think I misunderstood the second part of your suggestion lol. Yeah everything should ideally be togglable. I just got excited about the idea of nighttime versions of everything. I meant that would be really cool but I'd be fine with just one theme that was dark.

Totally 100% support them making a night mode theme. If they want to keep it in theme it could be shadowglen themed. Subeta has a lot and I mean a lot of white space. The new layouts they've been pushing on shops and such just make it worse. So I definitely would like to see a dark themed layout.

If it's possible to implement, I would definitely support an option to turn on night mode at any time of day! Especially important considering all the different time zones.

Yes please! I have custom CSS for a darker background but that doesn't help much because so much of the content now comes in white boxes, like said. It would be great to have a night mode, or even a couple of different darker options, such as black text on medium gray and off-white text on dark gray that suggested.

Yes please, I'd love a Night/Dark Mode theme or five (Or more!)

Full support, I hate mostly white websites and I use Stylish/dark modes wherever they're available, no matter what time of the day it is.
