Bring out the Nightmare theme! that might be the easiest option, just have an actual DARK theme, if a "night mode" is too difficult to add/program.

could also maybe have a timer that lets you choose the time when a theme is displayed(e.g. say from 7am-6pm you have a "day theme" and then 6pm-7am you have a "night theme".)

I would love this! Like the site goes through morning --> day --> evening --> night cycles as time goes by.

But that seems a bit complicated to program so I won't be expecting it. A simple toggle would do fine

I seem to recall there being a Bloodred site theme option a while back, but it was removed. The page background on that one was still white, though. I'd be fully in support of a Night Mode theme; the stark white page background can be a bit taxing on the eyes. I know you can do a Night Mode effect with customCSS, but not everybody is proficient enough to code one themselves or has the sP to commission one from somebody.

I mostly play on mobile, in my browser. The site works fine (if a bit slow) but it’s hell on my eyes. Absolutely support, would love a night mode that doesn’t require me to play on the computer to use.

Support. For years I've adjusted my custom css to make the background not stark white and for the better part of this year I've switched to a user-made night mode layout. It would be nice to have an official option.

So if any of you are interested I totally coded one of these last year when this discussion first started :')

OHH MY GOD THANK YOU I just applied it, and it feels so much better!

Also I might suggest FLUX which follows the light of the sun in terms of screen brightness, cutting out the bright white light and ending with a nice dim yellowish light for late night gaming.

Its very subtle and it has seriously helped with my headaches from gaming too long.

I didn't go through the whole thread yet but have you made any themes in general, like the ones on Subetalodge? Just s/thing different other than the ones we can choose on here. (although the night mode really looks cool w/ the morostide theme)

Haha thanks and nope, sorry to disappoint! I'm barely a coder, definitely not a web developer, this was made more as a public service :') I still want to do a dark blue or dark brown night mode variation someday but right now real life is pretty busy so I cannot be all that active on here anymore
