I think lava and molten or just red hot metal looks really appetizing. I want to try eating some. o ^ o; I won't because I can't even touch it, but it's my dream... (rather off-topic, but I also want to try insect food. It's very in right now. I want to eat it because insects have good nutritional value and you can grow them practically for free compared to any other animal protein. Also insects are much easier to keep happy than vertebrates.) Are there things you want to eat but never could? Like, I dunno... clouds or nuts or something?
Glitter lol I always thought it looks so appetizing x.x
crystals, or shiny rocks in general. I actually used to lick rocks with my friend when I was little because they were salty LOL.
Ugh, every time I help my mom make bird toys, at least one acrylic item ends up in my mouth. She just accepts it and sets aside a few for me to choose from. They just look delicious (like Jolly Ranchers!) and have such a lovely smooth texture. I dunno what it is about them.
I really thought this was going to be about junk food, like "Ohhhh I want pizza but it's so fattening!" lmao
Clouds, though. I've always thought clouds would be really good, like cotton candy, but lighter. Like slightly sweet water maybe.
Something more realistic I'd like to try is jackfruit. One of the local Meijer stores has started selling it and at my first sight of it, I'm like WTF IS THAT HUGE THING?! It's like an elongated basketball size, green and slightly spiky. It was funny, because another shopper was looking at it at the same time and we were both freaking out over it. But I'm going to hit up good ol' google and together we're going to figure it out, lol.
Molten glass. I constantly enjoy watching glass blowing videos and the thought always crosses my mind that I definitely would want to touch it, because OH MY GOSH IT'S JUST SO SMOOTH AND SOFT LOOKIN' but even worse, I want to lick it. What can I say but that it looks like honey...

I'd forever go down in history as the colossal idiot who licked molten glass. xD
A sticky hand... or at least a clean one, really. They all look like they should be wonderful and fruit flavored, plus that really soft gel texture, ooh~!
...I'll have to stick with gummi candy.
Dog and cat food look great. The actual taste of them is like dirt though.
this forum topic was not what i expected, i was gonna burst in here and be like "BBQ CHIPS OH BOI"
but this is so much more satisfying
i've gotta say crayons. biting through the wax and paper is already SUPER CRUNCHY SATISFACTION but they taste like nothing :/ and make my teeth all nasty.

Fresh wood always smells good in a kind of appetizing way? Splinters though.
I'll have to agree on cat food along with fish food. I think they smell sooo good. According to my parents I ate some when I was little, but I don't remember, and I haven't tried it in my adult life, so the taste will probably remain a mystery for me.
Jackfruit is delicious, you should google recipes for it! I think it's used mainly more of a texture thing than it's own taste though.
skincare, like whipped moisturizers in jars and stuff ohhhhh my gosh. it's never actually ended up in my mouth but every time I get a new jar and ESPECIALLY if it's yellow and lemon scented, yikes. the urge is real.
side note, I eat plant based pretty often and I saw this recipe for 'pulled pork' sandwiches but the pulled pork was replaced with shredded jackfruit, which you can buy canned, so I was like side eye emoji and tried it and it tasted just like pulled pork, so that was neat. if any of you are interested in the recipe I'd be happy to link you to it!
uh.. well, i have caffeinated soaps that smell super delicious. if only they tasted as good as they smell...
Also jumping in with, "I thought this was about unhealthy/trigger foods so I was going to say pasta with meat sauce because it's delicious but I will be in agony for two days," lol
A lot of beauty and skincare products look/sound/smell like they would taste amazing. I also have a bottle of perfume that looks soooo pretty and I always want to take a swig of it.
Aluminum foil. Most people hate hate hate to chew on it because the feeling is unpleasant to them but I actually like it.

Fresh dirt smells so yummy to me. I guess I actually used to eat dirt when I was a kid. Have you all ever watched that show about people who eat weird things? I can't remember the name of it but it had some pretty weird shit on it. They had a guy on there that ate plastic bags, he said the blue ones tasted best. They had a gal on there that sucked on wet baby diapers too. So gross!!!
Apparently dirt is actually a not-that-uncommon thing that pregnant women want to eat? The whole phenomenon of wanting to eat things that aren't food is called pica, and it's more likely to happen in pregnant women in general. I've read that it might be caused by mineral deficiencies when people want to eat things like dirt, but who knows what plastic bag guy might be missing there, hah. Actually I recall seeing one of those show episodes where the lady just drank nail polish..
I have put every burt's bees product I've ever owned in my mouth. They're mostly natural! The lemon poppyseed face scrub actually tasted good.
One time when I was younger, I ate play sand. Got violently ill one night afterwards. Not pretty.
I also ate chalk and never suffered any ill effects.
I sometimes have dreams where I eat stamps and even drink berry-scented handsoap!

For me, bouncy balls. Like those really colorful ones in the 25 cent machines. Such bright neon colors with the white swirl-like patters. The best looking ones are the pink and blues. The pinks look like strawberry and creme, and the blues I'd imagine would either be raspberry and creme or a vanilla flavor.
Interesting. I didn't know it was more common in pregnant women. Though mineral deficiency being the cause of the urges makes sense. Learn something new everyday.
