I made some good pet progress this last month and a half! One pet made lots of progress, and a couple more got a little tiny bit done but I'm super happy with it.

I added about 100 items to Jamarcus's treasure chest this Vesnali, many many of the floating flowers he was missing, some nice cash shop items I could finally afford, and a glade potion! Gold star!

mothercreep finally got a species and color, and is now genderless. Got a few good items to their TC as well. Gold star!

I did messed up and turned my active pet Yeoman into a nostalgic sheeta on accident while trying to change mothercreep, so I had to do the nostalgic pet "quest" twice and change Yeoman back to normal. D'oh.

Gentle Crimson has a species, color, and start to a TC now as well! I am so happy with the aesthetic she has going on.

Ah good progress ! That is an impressive TC! I've mis-coloured a pet before and it's so frustrating! Similarly, I've zapped the wrong pet - at least you've been able to adjust them to the desired versions now!

It took me a while to work out how to make a pet genderless, but I got some help from and managed to make 26 genderless recently! I love the genderless option available on Subeta.

I just finished up a simple profile for Bambi! I'm really happy with his character for the minute. I recently created Pitt and he finally zapped into the Experiment I wanted, so I'm pleased with that, although I have no idea where to go with his character!

@ Mackenzi awesome TC, and I love the color/species you chose. @ alex, Bambi's profile is pretty! I love the simplistic style.

STUFF

a) Shaded/updated the cheeb on Yuri's profile; he's probably the most complete pet I've ever had! & I love him to bits ;; ~

b) "Finished" Deluhi (button/profile/writing/cheeb) - he could probably use an actual story, but I have no clue what it should be;;; Still, I'm satisfied for now~

c) Made a profile/cheeb/button for Kaede, made them genderless (finally!), bought a bunch of stuff for their TC & added some more to it orz, and worked on trying to develop their character - now "all" I need is a plot/story! (This is something I've been struggling with for years though ha-ha-haaaaalp)

d) Today: decided to merge two character concepts into one, re-named her to Ruuki (❤️), re-potioned her into a reborn feli, put together a simple profile, did some writing that actually works as a base story (!), bought some TC items + put together a WL, mentally linked her with another one of my pets (which adds depth to both of them + it just really works !)... Now all I need is some more TC items, a cheeb (I have aspects of her design in mind!) (edit: made one! it might need editing later/tomorrow but whatever), and a button~

I'm excited & happy to finally be doing things with my pets! I saw a blog post early this year that 2k17 should be the year of OC development, and it does seem to be the case for me!! ^^ /touch wood

i recently re-designed telo and updated his pet button on my profile!! and also added a bunch of tc stuff to my wl |D which i will buy when i'm not lazy ahahaha

i also got around to giving andrzej a temporary profile FINALLY and wrote some stream-of-consciousness style notes because that's how i roll lol

andddd i got two new pets! toshi and mirko and can't wait to start working on them o v o

Xuraki: It took around 3 iterations, but I got a reasonable looking layout. I wanted it genderless since it's a toy, but failed by accidentally feeding it the berry rather than using it. It's the only food it's ever eaten so everyone can see my mistake. Oops.

Chums: Got art, a story, and a profile. Huzzah! My roommate says it has no face because of all the times it has had its face bashed in in the coliseum.

I just finished Balloonatic's profile. I created him the day Nostalgic Dillemas came out... almost a year and a half ago. I also finally finished Drifblim after almost THREE years-- and the sad thing about that is I've known all along what Blim's character and all was gonna be. It just took me that long to write the story ahaha. Um, let's see... I also just finished giving Al Cody a new story and Agoraphobic some profile tweaks after both got booted from the queue.

Now to figure out what to do with the rest of them lol.

Oh my gosh I need this. I feel like I'm neglecting everyone but I'm trying ok.

Patting myself on the back

Zak I've given Zak an overhaul. I've been stuck on what to do with him for years and kept changing my mind, but with the release of the Storm Paralix, I finally found his calling. I changed his color and species, wrote him a story to fit in with my other solar system pets, and began his TC of dragons.

Adalynn I was initially set on keeping her a Zentu, but I randomly got an idea while showering of creating a terracoon/torrent hybrid. I one time doodled and fell in love with the drawing I made of the potential character (which I still need to scan and actually make the digital art) so I changed Adalynn into a Blacklight Terracoon, wrote her story, and filled her TC with torrent-related items.

Chelsea, Caydan, Lorenzo, and Cambri These are my other four solar system babes. I finally revamped their stories to fit well with one another much better and started working on all their TCs. So this is great and all, but I have been procrastinating in terms of drawing artwork for them (and for Chelsea's case, giving her a new design since I want her to have a more galaxy color scheme) so it's a mix of being productive and being stuck in my procrastination ways.

Above all, I have this bad habit of working on many pets at once rather than working diligently on one and getting that one spotlight-ready before moving on. This means practically all of my pets still need artwork and profiles, so:

I wanna pat myself on my back for having all my pets colored and species with minions and names that I like. Even silly Death_Dealer19 is meant to be :)

I'm giving myself a gold star for Linseed ok? The story an TC needs some tweaking but that profile has lots of heart and effort in it ;-;

And if more or less confirming that I'm going to name-change one of my existing pets to another name counts as "progress", there's that too. Maybe once I'm less busy this week! I've already got the potion + gender berry all prepared.

Slowly but surely, I'm working on my pets. Schmeow's profile is done, I just need to fix up his overlay.

Alvina is... coming along nicely. Working on her TC right now. I've got the main body text for her profile as well; just need to find someone to commission for a profile and an overlay.

Been working late into the night since I got back into making pet profiles. Designed a new generic layout for my pets to use, made Stan Pines his own, and gave Natu's a major rehaul. I still need to write content for them all however.

On a side note, I started having Wynter read a lot of books, since he's my bookworm and I was honestly surprised that it wasn't a thing I've done for him yet.

I myself have made very little progress after being away for a while, but I have made the effort to go through and re-assess my pets and see which ones need working on. I have started on, at the very least, getting species/ colour combos and TCs underway, as well as setting up some bare bones generic profiles to use for the time being. Unfortunately, some of the profiles I set up while ago have gone all weird weird scaling-wise, and some of the artwork I created (such as on Edwina's page) I actually no longer have the original files for after my computer died a few months back.

So, nothing gold-star worthy at this stage, but I love coming on here and see the progress that other people have been making on their pets, profiles, TCs etc.

I'm also curious, what inspires people to begin working on their pets, story, character designs, profiles?
