We all rely on our shops for income and that often means stalking shops to some degree. I have no problem with that. I DO have a problem seeing the same people, over and over, who rs things by the dozens, hundreds, and even thousands. How many of any single item do you think you are going to sell anyway? Do you really need three thousand of ANYTHING? Get a hobby. Play a game. Call your mother.
I have nothing against users making a profit, but I dislike seeing such uncontrolled GREED. I am going to start making a concerted effort to avoid purchasing from these shops in the future. Be forewarned, user shops stocking items in greater than single digits are likely to get passed by. I will pay more to buy from someone else.
Anyone else wanna join me in this boycott of bad behavior?
They have every right to stock as many they want.
Perhaps they buy so many of the same items for those who use the recycle beast so they don't have to keep switching shops or for those who buy them to frag for crystals. It's also very handy for doing quests.
To be honest I rather buy from a shop that has more than one item in stock then a shop which has only one of item each in stock.
Are you kidding me? They're the best! I love buying gambling items in bulk, namely special coins. If I find a shop with 20+ of them, you betcha I'm blowing millions on them.
However, you do have a point. People with bad behavior should be shamed.
So, STOP SHAMING PEOPLE FOR PLAYING IN A WAY THEY ENJOY. AS LONG AS IT'S WITHIN THE RULES, WHO CARES?
Insulting and targeting fellow players by calling them "rabid" and implying they don't have a life is the kind of thing I want nothing to do with. It's a billion times more toxic than having 100 of a certain item in their shop, because it doesn't affect a virtual pet economy, it affects real people.
I wish I could like your post more than once (:
All I can say without any dramatic content is: You have a choice, and they have theirs, and nobody can force each other to do what they think is right.
And the B&C is pretty much amoral, as I quickly figured out.
Hey, look, it's one of those topics again!
I don't know how many times I've gotten items from user shops for thousands cheaper than official shops so I'm not complaining.

Are you even sure those people restocked those items in the first place? Maybe they're trying to clear out a hoard that piled up over the years.
For example, I have a giant stash of various items from years and years ago that I'm trying to slowly sell off. I hoarded 'em back in the day because I thought they looked pretty cool. Someone else might've done the same thing for a more sentimental reason. Or even vending. Vending generates tons of duplicates.
You don't know the full story behind the item stash in the shop. Chill. Have a cuppa tea. Call a friend. No need to stress over someone's pile of pixel items being bigger than someone else's.
OP, you shouldn't have approached this topic so harshly, nor should you have used some of the words you did. Your post could possibly hurt several someone's feelings. Besides, this is a very minuscule issue - if you can even call it that - compared to what's happening in our world today. So, if this is making you so upset to where you feel the need to make a post about it, maybe it's a good idea to get off of Subeta for a hot minute. Go outside and enjoy the weather. Or, if it's a bit too chilly where you live to go outside, wrap yourself up in a fuzzy blanket and read a good book. Just relax. You will be okay. I promise.

Sometimes I go to price something and someone has severely undercut the price, and then multiple people will have autopriced their shop and not noticed the price drop. I usually buy all those up and sell them for a profit, because why not?
In my experience from RSing at Book Nook, most things get bought up/have only one left in my shop before I have time to restock that same item. Any item worth it is only going to restock a few items at a time.
put it more eloquently than I ever could have.
Also I just want to add that I'm another one of those users who really likes the bulk stocking sometimes. It means I can just refresh the one page to buy instead of clicking buttons if I need a lot of that item. One example of this is scratchcards - sometimes I wanna buy like 1000 to scratch, and I love the shops who regularly stock them by the hundreds, it makes it really convenient to buy them up.

I used to be an avid restocker. Haven't really done it in a while, but I did it unapologetically. Was I always successful? No, I missed plenty of good items, just as I'd expect. But since I very rarely do quests, my restocking did go a long way. I'd make millions in weeks. In fact, it was through restocking I made my first billion. I have a special system I follow when restocking. Most of the time, the items I restock are commoner items that sell for more than their NPC shop prices. I made more profits that way than through r95+. I don't think I ever had more than 10 of an item, as I didn't want to be stuck with them should they ever seriously deflate, but it's a great way to make sP.
...
I just dislike the users on this site in general tbh

I often end up with multiples of things because I don't always have a GA and can't be bothered pricing stuff by hand. I vend for Major Drills and get all kinds of items from quests. They just sit there in my shops until I think there's enough stock to make a one week GA worthwhile.
There was a time when I needed a whole slew of one item. This item went for 100k a piece in user shops, while it went for 2k a piece in its NPC shop. That was a lot of sP to throw down on a not so rare item! But like I mention, there was need for hundreds of them. Then came along a random user who had well over 1k of this item. They priced their stash for 40k a pop! That's still a lot for an item that's not very rare, but this was a price I was willing to pay.
This user still over priced the items (imo), but there was a buyer which they helped save 60k per item. So yeah. Rabid RSers are sometimes very helpful! Between personally rsing this item from the NPC shop, and the users shop, I was able to achieve the amount required before time ran out.

this post makes me laugh because i feel like i'm one of the people it's directed at, even though i don't have that many items in my shop.
i just like mindlessly checking shops and restocking things, i'm good at it so i keep doing it. and it's great since i don't have real cash to spend on the site - i can easily make millions in a day just by doing my quests and restocking - even better if i have a gold account so i can autoprice!
it's not like it matters, though. i'm hardly going to stop because someone else thought i was getting 'too lucky' with it or something.

soooo why exactly do you feel the need to insult people who play the game differently than you do? i don't think anyone cares if you wanna pay more when you could pay less. that doesn't hurt anyone except yourself.
no need to be so frickin nasty though.
also this is such an old complaint and it's whiny as hell. i don't really get how people can continue to make threads about this on like every pet site ever and think, "i have such a valid point! good for me!" no, it's ridiculous. there's nothing wrong with rsing or even rsing a ton of items. it's a valid way to play the game. if you don't like it, tough.
Like I said -- we all rs. There are just some users who have thousands of EVERYTHING -- not just a stockpile of leftovers from one thing or another. I'm just fed up with greed in RL and I'm tired of it here now too. I know I'm not alone. I have seen and heard plenty from people who feel as I do -- but they never say anything because they're afraid of backlash from other users. I clearly have no such fears. lol
I wasn't trying to be mean -- but I was trying to point out that such behavior is beyond the pale. I should have probably phrased things differently to emphasize behavior over person. How can anyone know that what they do is noticed by others if no one says anything? Now, this isn't a major issue in my life -- I would be astonished if it made the top 100 in anyone's list of modern day issues. It is something that does bother me though and I thought that since there are others who feel as I do, that it should maybe be something we discuss as a community. There are possibly people out there who simply never thought of it. Maybe they will think twice, maybe not. Either way, a few folks are likely to be more conscientious about where they spend their sP. They may go out of their way to do the opposite of what I do and that's okay too. I have vented my frustrations, so I feel fine. I hope you do too! :)
well,
and
don't really fit lmao. it's so nice that you feel fine though. 😂
if you wanna go on a crusade against people who play the game differently than you do, fine. but don't insult people who play it differently than you do.
also, no, they're not showing "bad behaviour" but you are.
like i just don't get your hate. it's not greed, it's just a game. people make lots of sp that way and people make lots of sp in other ways.
i also don't get why you think it's important. you can say all you want that you don't think it's that important but clearly it is when you made a whole thread and your posts are going on about how it's "bad behaviour" and we need to boycott those people??? you are majorly overreacting.
