How is everyone enjoying the new year and new term so far?

My new year has been good. Schools have closed twice now for snow. Really, there's only a light powder of snow on the ground here.

(Reply to the feast-board) How was your bathhouse experience? I thought Studio Ghibli closed down! I just explored youtube for a bit and found several new movies coming out this year... Also, Spirited Away is the best. ❤

Have you seen the trailer for Mary and the Witch's Flower (link)? It looks really cute and is about a young witch (named Mary?)

No snow days over here but we had an average snowstorm over the weekend. That movie looks interesting! I loved Kiki and Arrietty. Hayao Miyazaki retires and leaves retirement so often that it's hard to keep track.

The bathhouse was so nice! It was very clean and we all left feeling great. I was there with my friends for 6 hours. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed the pools and saunas. One of my friends got a massage.

and I was kinda thinking of maybe starting up an sP sprint thread. Hopefully someone will be interested!

I'm excited for the weekend and workshops to start. It stinks that we can't add new members to our house forum groups right now. Hopefully Subeta gets on top of that quickly. :(

Is anyone else disappointed to only have Colin Farrell for one Potterverse movie? I think he's such an underrated actor.

I think I'm in the minority that would rather have him than Johnny Depp, for sure.

Depp has been doing the same shtick for way too long. The popularity he gained from his Tim Burton roles ruined him as an actor imo. I'm pretty stoked to have more movies to look forward to though.

A pet help thread and book suggestions board would be great! What is sP sprint?

I need to read more about the ones that are in the General Discussion forum, but basically it's a challenge to earn a certain amount of sP within a certain timeframe? Basically just a way to set goals for yourself and motivate yourself to do quests, sell items, etc. I personally haven't done any sP earning in months so I would find it particularly helpful. xD Not sure if anyone else would.

The sp sprint sounds neat! I think everyone could use a kick in the butt to do quests/dailies more. It sure would help me. If it's not something you think could thrive now, it might be nice to do something like that during a term break.

Ah, that's so cool! I follow a few Korean and Japanese youtubers. I get so excited to hear about/see bathhouses.

I'm just going to say it. I don't understand workshops, like..what are they? mini events? I try to understand, i just don't. Can you get house points for them?

Basically they are kinda mini-clubs. Clubs seemed to run too long for the past couple of terms, with activity petering out after a couple of weeks except for a handful of people. They don't generate any points, it's just an extra for-fun thing. We're still kinda experimenting with how they are working... needs tweaking for sure.

RIP John Hurt. I was sad to see his passing. :(
