I thought it would be neat to hear what everyone here does for work. I work with dogs every day at a daycare and boarding facility. It's pretty physically demanding and working 6 days a week makes it difficult. I do get to pet every dog that comes through the door, though, so that helps!
I am a Horticulturist. :) and I love my job. I get to work with plants all day long and not so much with people! Perfect for me! LMAO!
I walk people's dogs, and house-sit. I've been house-sitting for like, almost ten years (which is insane to think about), but only been doing the walking for about a year. It's a pretty great job!
I also used to work at a dog daycare! It was a fun job and taught me a lot, but holy man was it taxing, haha! People are always like, 'you get to cuddles puppies all day!' and it's like, 'well... yeah, but also no.'
Wow, sounds like a dream!? I would be the happiest person ever if I got paid to tend to plants all day. I love tending to all my plants but sadly I don't get paid for that.
House sitting sounds pretty enjoyable. I used to pet sit/walk dogs full time for a few months and it's pretty relaxing. Sadly, I didn't make enough to make that my primary job. It's nice to be your own boss!
People always tell me I have it easy because I 'get to pet dogs' too. They don't understand how much you actually do there. It's draining!
I was actually a Vet Tech for 7 years until I changed job careers! Lol. I loved it! But, I needed a change..So I went from pets to plants! ;)
All of your guys' jobs sound super cool ;__; I work in the front office at a hotel. I do actually really enjoy it but it's exhausting dealing with guests and answering phones all night long. I'm also training to do the nightly audit for the hotel and those numbers can get HELLA confusing.
I work in the deli at a natural foods co-op.
When I'm not in my staff position here on site, I also work at a public library as the teen librarian.
I try to survive while taking my college classes. /still enrolled for 2 years and an half uheeee
I work for two (soon to be three) small businesses by the same owners. One sells accessibility products, the other is in healthcare, and the third will be green energy. I'm the PR/Marketing Manager 'officially', but I manage the overall day to day of all the businesses in everything from sales to full dealer support, web designer, materials designer. The cat that sits beside me at the office keeps me sane.
I am a telemarketer/charity fundraiser.... hopefully not for much longer. Took it out of desperation, destroyed my own soul lol. It's one of those jobs you can't go through a shift without crying if you have any moral compass whatsoever lol.
Applied for a much nicer customer service role today, fingers crossed! :D
I used to work in subrogation (insurance)... I am a licensed adjuster. I wanted to go back to school, though, since I am pretty young. Now, I deliver pizza again mwahaha. I don't like the daytime....... -hiss-
You will survive!
Sounds like a busy life! Thank goodness for the cat. They tend to make everything better.
I remember retail life. Shitty customers, inventory, employees making fake coupons to get things for free at work...what pleasant memories.
Good luck, I hope you get it!
I used to hate the daytime too but now I'm all about it! Nighttime just makes me lazy.
Color me impressed! It took me two months of coffee-therapy to even have my eyes open during the day. It's pretty hot out here, though, and I think that may have a lot to do with it.
I think it's nifty that you work with puppers. I know that kind of stuff is definitely very dedicated work but so wonderful. My grandma passed, and she left us three little chihuahuas. Quite the little balls of energy.
I'm a post-doctoral research scientist but I'm hoping to change careers to something... else... taking suggestions! I went through the University rigmarole and now I'm just vaguely confused as to what to do with my life. It's an interesting situation to be in.
