whats your ideal place to work? i feel like mine changes everyday. right now im applying for a lot of bakeries because i think it would be really fun (no offers yet :() ideally i'd love to work as a teacher, specifically with a focus on art. or if i could i'd want to be able to support myself through art and live on a farm with a bunch of fat cats and dogs.
what are other people's ideal careers? :D
I want to work from home. I don't have to be around people all day, I can make my own schedule, no daily traffic routine, health problems are easier to manage, it'll be much easier to eat healthy...
I'm in an IT program right now to work on starting my own IT business. I'm also wanting to start selling sewed goods on the side. After a year of unemployment, bad job experiences, and my dislike of following bosses' orders and doing things their way, I believe working at home is the best option for me.
I want to work in costuming for film/TV or in a sewing studio for a designer that produces couture designs. I love working on clothing (actually making patterns/sewing/embellishing) and those seem like the most likely jobs to pursue that. It's hard to break into that though! I worked on one movie and currently intern at a designer where I get to work on designs, but neither one seems to be leading to anything permanent....

I want to be rich enough so I don't have to work.
But since that won't happen, I really want to be a museum curator, specifically in a history museum.
I also really want to be a historical researcher. I'm planning on going to graduate school and studying Russian History. I really enjoy research work
It would be super cool to work from home I'd say. I love doing crafts (I'm making a gargoyle art doll right now... hopefully...), so I'd say my dream job would be something that let me make crafts from home and sell them.
Otherwise, I'd say library work. Even though I'm allergic to basically everything, I've always loved libraries, and volunteered in them, and getting a job, even just a page, would be so cool. Both at once, though, would be the absolute best. A library job that left enough time/money to make crafts for the little bit those'd sell for? Sure, especially since some libraries have art programs for patrons. Maybe then I could actually make my Classics degree useful...
I'm just like you, my ideal "job" changes all the time depending on how I'm feeling. I've always wanted to work from home, though. I like the idea of working as a florist right now because it sounds like such a cute, neat job and I could never be unhappy working around a bunch of flowers. I used to pet sit full time and that was a pretty nice job too. Sadly, it's hard to make that into a real career.
I love the idea of living on a farm too. Hey, maybe one day your art will totally blow up and you can live that life! ;)
my plan since age 7 has been to go to medical school to become a psychiatrist, but lately i've been exploring the idea of becoming a dermatologist instead. i'm applying to med schools next may/june so hopefully it will all work out, or i'll probably jump off a bridge :) :) haha kidding, i'll just apply every year until i get in somewhere
Ooh! That's very cool! :) I'm applying in June as well, but I'm interested in neurology (but not being a neurologist lol) and emergency medicine. Why are you interested in dermatology? I hear they tend to be the happiest of all doctors. I'm interested in working in areas with scarce resources, and doing whatever is necessary there!
As an ideal position, emergency medicine doctor (which is still the goal!). Though, I do love the environment and working with animals, so a career combining all of these things would be amazing. I live to work!
I would love to have something where I don't have to get up at the asscrack of dawn. I am not a morning person. At all. Not even when I try to train myself into it. If I could find a job that started at 10-11 AM, that would be wonderful. This one I have now starts three days a week, if not more, at 8 AM, which means for getting ready and drive time, I have to be up at 6:30 AM (aka: the asscrack of dawn).
I would love to work as a Teachers Aide but due to health problems, I can't. But it would be fun helping a teacher with grading papers and help students.
I have a degree in Criminal Justice because I wanted to be an Animal Cop. You know, rescuing abused and neglected animals and bringing the abusers to justice. Unfortunately I don't think that job really exists where I moved to since obtaining my degree so I don't know how likely it is I will do something like that here. Well, maybe someday :)

I'd like to be a college professor of Psychology, live in a home somewhere tucked away in the woods. Or a professional Dota 2 player, but I'm definitely not good enough for that. Haha.

idk what it is i wanna work in fashion though rly bad. i rly wanna change what beauty is seen as in the fashion industry and like, revolutionize it i guess whatever that means..... i rly wanna make it a more inclusive thing and also fashion industry is way fucked up in a lot of ways and i wanna fix it. like fast fashion sucks its not eco friendly at all in fact clothes is like, a big problem when it comes to pollution cause clothes r too disposable :/ shouldnt be that way
idk i guess my dream job is like curator of something id like to be director of a fashion line i guess or like, work closely with a group of ppl im not interested in power and fortune and fame im interested in change and making an impact and a positive difference. the bodies in fashion need to be changed like beauty = skinny white and that needs to change :/ if the bodies change then the clothes will change after and idk i have no real focus idk what i want im aimless but i at least got direction
Graphic Designer VwV t'would be amazing.
"...I've been through it all baby, I'm mother courage."
I wish I had a better voice preparation and guitar skills and be a musician.
Ideally, animator. That said, I did study animation in school, but found out I wasn't really cut out for salaried art. I'm more happy arting as a hobby than as a professional career.
I'm studying to be a librarian currently, so I'm happy with where I am now and applying for ph.d applications in my undergrad major( history) . It's not what I originally wanted as a kid, but that changes as you get older though.
A babysitter, but the kind that only sits toddlers and gets paid $100/hour.
Not sure what my ideal career would be, except to be happy and to help people. I would be the partner-in-crime with rescuing puppers and putting abusers in jail, but even that would be a harrowing job. I've always wanted to translate documents from French into English and I've done a few lyric translations in the past for bands I admire, but there's very little demand for that sort of thing (:

I want to work as a gardener in either a cemetery or a botanical garden.
Long story short, I'm a highly sensitive person and having a job I don't love basically makes my life hell. So in the last year I've tried two different jobs that I absolutely adore, and that's AMAZING because despite both of them being unpaid internships (or my country's version of that system), now I at least know what I want to do.
I'd also love to be able to work from home, but I don't think those kind of jobs would interest me enough. And maybe it's actually good for a loner like me to have a job where I'll have to get out of my house. :D
