I'm not sure what the intent was, but it doesn't seem to be working.
I signed up for Doom Bloom over 4 hours ago when the wait time was listed as ~2 hours. Still can't be bitten. Others have been waiting for 5, 6, 7 hours. What exactly is the point of this? How is waiting around doing literally nothing supposed to be a fun event?
I'm a little confused about the wait time as well and would love to hear an explanation, as I haven't seen it in the FAQ or anywhere else in the event forums. It hasn't hindered my Pandemic experience (I'm mostly interested in candy hearts), but the time estimate is no doubt glitchy and I can understand some users' frustrations over it.

THIS. Even though I signed up right around when the first news post happened, I am slowly getting further and further behind. I hate being this far behind when I was online and signed up early. :/ And then the stages themselves taking a few hours longer than those in previous years does not help. I need more skins. ;A;
I'm annoyed that I got the skin from the initial round and went to get a different virus, but it's random with the 25k buy-in and I apparently have the same skin growing again now and I have to wait for it to finish before I can try again.
I think the 25k 'no wait' option give you a random one of this year's, meaning there's a chance to get a duplicate.
In the same boat as I signed up I'd guess about a half hour after the news post and I'm still not a full zombie yet. I planned on getting a couple more skins this year, but at this rate that's not going to happen. I love how a glitch hindered a lot of us and it's not been said we'd get an extra day or two because of it. It's not our fault the site screwed up.
Pretty sure in the past the wait times were somewhere around 8-12~ hours per stage, apart from the first, give or take a few. Unless memory serves me wrong. I know it didn't take us a full day or more to progress. So, I'm kind of annoyed.

With so many people getting the incorrect infections due to bite glitches and the random option glitch, they should totally offer a cure for people in the first stage of the virus. :C
Signed up over four hours ago for Doom Bloom and really kind of pissed that I haven't been infected yet. Or that current Doom Bloomers can't even bite me. Like, what the hell is this crap? I'm glad I'm not the only one affected, I've just been so confused.
I just don't understand the purpose of the wait. It's not like there's a market for skins, they're not going to inflate or affect something in the economy. Why can't we even be bitten? How does that affect anything?! And I find it hard to believe that this could possibly affect the servers, given we've had 5 years of the zombie strains, and last year was the first year with them being skins. Nothing has changed!
Just stop making events if you can't make sure they're working as they should, Subeta.
Sad thing is, this is a yearly event. Just like Luminaire and Morostide, you'd think they'd have the kinks worked out by now.

Especially since the random glitch (where people who pick random get a new virus automatically after redeeming their skin) happened last year as well. Pretty sure that had been fixed... but somehow has happened again. And some people who are paying for specific viruses are still getting infected with different ones. Now that the first wave of zombies are done, all Hell is breaking loose... and not the 'fun zombie apocalypse' kind of Hell.
The wait time in general is understandable. The wait time being longer than stated should really be looked into and fixed. Also, the random strain would be nice if it gave you one you didn't have each time. who wants to get the same virus twice. general I'd like bugs to be fixed sentiments go here. general patience is a virtue sentiments here too.
I love how I literally signed up for my virus 5 minutes into the event, but I'm BEHIND people that signed up much more later. It's making fun of us, especially with half-assed excuses. I'm tired of glitched events.
Edit:
Wrong board, sorry!

People would be more patient with staff communication. Please?
i didn't get struck by survival bad side yet, but it saddens me to see some friends didn't get infected for over a few days, just because there are no biter.
it's true, they would. this was apparently fixed once, and it's taking awhile again so apparently it wasn't fully fixed. I feel like the queue isn't emptying fast enough, the queue being manually cleared is the only reason viruses started showing up right away when they first fixed it. but really us complaining isn't going to do anything about it. Things need fixed, yes. People who were infected with the same thing or who were infected by something they didn't sign up for should be able to cure their virus because that's kinda awful too. But this kind of thing we just really need input from staff to tell us what's going on and for them to fix it.
