Today the only three machines I vended were Celebration Gift, Prize Get, and a bit at Blue Moon, but I just noticed that I didn't vend anything over r60.
I believe that the rarity cap (as of yesterday?) was r90 for Celebration Gift, r80 for Prize Get, and ? for Blue Moon, although I know it was above r65. Can't test other machines now but I'm assuming it wasn't just those three.
This seems like a... possibly unwise decision. With this quest challenge going on, especially. To completely remove rare items from vending machines :|
If this is the case it's very bad for the Quest Challenge. The Book Nook is restocking nicely but none of the other NPC shops are. I've got to them when the message is Restocked Now and nothing has come in.
-_- With the push to get tokens out of the system with high token shop costs this will make vending completely not worth it. Especially since the Wizard is almost never the weekend quest.
Expand the pool of items. Many items don't vend. Lower the number of vends per day. But this seems like a bad idea.
I noticed this. Didn't know if it was deliberate or not. While I'm all for making vending less of a site staple, I'm wondering why this change was made right now during the quest challenge. I feel it could have waited until next week.
I made a thread in problems and bugs but no one else commented so I thought it was just me having bad luck. But this is really bad considering vending right now. We already get a ton of worthless junk and the rare or super rare hiding in the mix was the whole point of vending really. Cutting the rarities down means all we're getting is MORE worthless junk. Which means more items are going to drop while other items are going to skyrocket. If this is actually a thing I'm done with vending. Like, seriously done.
Given I've gotten r90s (or whatever collection items are, I can never keep this straight) from a variety of vending machines in the past - mind you all worth under 500k - I'd like to know what gives too.

I'm rapidly running out of medium and rare quest items in my shop. Restocking is hopeless and there's no way I'm going to waste time and energy vending now the rarity cap has been cut. I've got a horrible feeling that certain items are going to skyrocket in player shops so it will be increasingly harder for the average player to contribute much towards this Quest-A-Thon.
The only good thing is that prices aren't going to end up what they were during the Saggi revamp disaster unless super rich players are really desperate for another pet slot. :)
Whee! Let's do a Quest-a-thon and fiddle with the various sources of items necessary to do said quests! I have a sickening feeling that this little thing is going to really hurt our economy at the conclusion :/
I think I'm the only one actually okay with vending not pouring out super rares and even rares anymore.
I never was at ease with high rarity item just being gained from the push of a button.
Aren't all items gained by a push of a button?
I don't think this was the right time to make this change to the vending machines if in fact it was a change and not some bug.
I thought it seemed different. The thing is, shops are restocking so much now that everything is going to end up worth nothing by the time this whole pet thing is over anyways that I don't think the vending higher rarity items would even matter.
Hopefully vending and restocking will go back to normal when this quest thing is over.
I disagree with the complaints in this thread. There actually needs to be fewer Rares and Super Rares on the site in general and many more r60 and lower. As it stands now normal and common items are worth much more than the ones that are suppose to be rarer and harder to get your hands on.

To restock most super rares, you gotta haggle.
Vending is mind-numbing simple and I cannot repeat enough that the economy would be so much better without item dispensers around. Removing rares and super rares is a great first step and I'm really happy about it.
unless they changed this back recently, that is no longer the case.
With restocking messed up in most shops, it's near impossible to restock valuable rares and super rares. If you make it to where we can't vend items over r60, all that's going to do is skyrocket the prices of rare and super rare items asked for by the quests. Lower rarity items will then drop value because more of them will be vended with the higher rarity items not being vended. That's all exactly what we don't need with the quest thing this week.
The restocking issue needs to be fixed before you do this change to vending.
I personally don't like the change in vending rarities regardless, but this is the worst time if you're going to change it no matter what.
