I've always found that if one or two of you as me something by smail, others are thinking or wondering the same thing as well.

There are no stupid or useless questions!

Even the silly ones can make us laugh, and most are just informational, so ask away!

Here's a few that I've received recently and need to answer:

Q: Do you judge the contests yourself?

A: No, I don't. I have a panel of judges that do a fabulous job. I simply can break ties, but I don't. I happily award ties, and always have. :)

Q: Will we have to do stupid things?

A: Not if I can help it. I will never assign you anything that makes a fool of you.

Q: Do we all get the same rules and an equal chance to win?

A: Yes, you do. You all have the same rules for each and every challenge. If you don't understand something required, please ask for clarification. I would rather overstate everything than not state something and then have you feel it was used against it. There are NO "secret/hidden" rules. Everything is always up front.

Q: Can we have an extension of a deadline?

A: If there really is a crisis, either in health of team members, serious family/personal problems, or some other emergency situations, you may, and I negotiate those on a case by case basis.

Q: How are challenges weighted?

A: Each challenge and chapter has a certain number of points you can get, along with some bonus points. These are always listed in advance. Bonus tasks are always optional.

Q: What if I think of something else?

A: Don't worry, just post it here. :D

Can we play as mixed races? So.. let's part (Un)seelie, part human?

Yes, you may. However, just a word of caution here. There's a lot going on around you in terms of challenges and interactions, so, if you do decide to play that character, make sure you're going to be comfortable in that skin.

You'll tell us should we break something in the WS world with our characters right? While I enjoy a challenge and a chance to rp, I do not want to mistreat a world/set/imagination of someone else.

The world of the Squirrel isn't that rigid, sweetie. It's very interactive and rather fluid. A lot of what was in WS2 came from player ideas from WS1 and now WS2 is a lot reflected in WS3.

So I wouldn't worry too much.

First off, thank you for this thread! As you know, I'm a late arrival, so how much time do I have for character construction and preparation? Also since I am brand new here, how long do the games last generally? Thank you so much!

Wayward Squirrel usually begins in mid to late May and last until the last week of July. Our official start date is May 22nd, which would involve an event of meeting at the inn, introducing your characters and "dressing your part."

Because of the combined "worlds" of this adventure and the amount of new players, I gave you two full weeks to start work as a team, devise your characters, and dress for the intros.

When you say dress for the intros.. do you mean like just have shared ha's posted or do you mean actually dress our ha's in what are characters look like?

It's always atmospheric to wear the stuff, of course, but what you will do is design your HA and post it on your group board (or share it.) Your captain will then compile a "group entry portrait" and post it on this thread.

Can I get a little guidance on the Vagabond class? Is there a comparable class in RPG that i could reference? (Google is coming up sooooo dry!)

I want to know if I am a jack of all trades, will I get to use a little magic? Stuff like tricks mostly, a puff of smoke, a spell to light up a room, nothing too powerful. Also, would i be able to know simple healing craft like applying bandages, using poultices?

I didnt know where to post this, there are so many threads. My team said I should let you know, I will not be at home from sat 18th to sat 25th July, I will have a tablet, and hopefully internet connection doing my best to follow along, [if its not resolved by then!]

So, will the Floating Frenchman be picking up each member at "The Crossroads?" In other words, Is "The Crossroads" a generic arbitrary literary plot device meeting place on Subeta where our character is brought aboard the Floating Frenchman? Will our characters be meeting Lucian? I hope we arrive with our clothes on this time. Is there a specific Subetan continent where the "Crossroads" exists? Or is it more metaphysical? Is there a specific perfume that Lucian is partial to? Does he like cookies?

My understanding is that Vagabond is a Jack-of-all-trades, but I associate them with thief in a loose sense. They're not completely the thief, and they don't specialize.

When our characters have a "companion" does that companion have to be on our HAs as well? And are companions necessary for every character?
