HAha, I wasn't even considering changing Jean. You and I and everyone else love her just as she is. Now if little Sihr could be just a bit less shy....

By the way, how close is Squirrely's to the Squirrel? I was going to have Jean assemble folks at the Squirrel, but if we're being picked up at the Crossroads, and can't get to the Squirrel yet, that's out, so I switched it to Squirrely's, but there's some concern that it's not an okay setting because you don't want us using it. Can we have characters meet up at the Offtime Saloon?

Is the Squirrel usually accessible by normal means?

The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group

Question about the setting: Where exactly did the fairie messenger "land"? At the Squirrel or in Bordertown? It was said that the Frenchman will board to the Borderlands... are they near Bordertown or a completely new part of the "world"? Just asking because we have some Bordertown inhabitants in our group and we're wondering if they can stay or need to travel to another checkpoint. :D

I did post already about Squirrely's being accessible, which it is. The response about Squirrely's not being an involved location was a comment to a player who wanted certain NPCs to be active, and they won't be. You may certainly use it as a rallying point to start. See 's brilliant contribution to Chapter 1.

Squirrely's is on a giant asteroid at a major nexus in space. (Location! Location is everything!) It's nowhere near the Wayward Squirrel, which is accessible by invitation only, although it is "somewhere" in Subeta once a year.

It's a complilation of the individual HAs. The other would either require an artist for the team OR access to Subeta's resources. This is simply a player-run event, nothing more, even though we have a lot of folks. :D

The faerie messenger landed near you, neither in Bordertown, nor the Squirrel. The Borderlands are where they aare, and the Squirrel right now is lost in darkfog. You're Borderland folks are fine, because they aren't "natives." They will be "fitting in there" for their chosen characters.

So the faerie came to all of us separately? My character is off on her boat, so she's not likely to get messages very often.

Exactly! The faerie messenger is a plot device to get everyone onto the Floating Frenchman and into the darkfog within the adventure structure. If the faerie has to find you, he/she/it will.

next question for you...if one (or more) of our team members will not be at the crossroads with us because they are already in Bordertown, is that ok? and if so, should they use a different background when we present our team HAs to indicate that they are elsewhere?

Well, I don't really see how they could be in Bordertown, but, if they are, the background won't be as important as the fact that none of them will be able to participate in the the next chapter challenge, so your team will have to "play short."

Just a quick question about your preferences for role play.

If our character has an accent, is it permissible to RP them with the accent, as long as it is not too disruptive?

I know it is one of those things that can be terribly subjective, I was just wondering if there was a preference? Thanks.

Will we be meeting members of the Seelie Court in our initial "look"? Gotta know how formal we need to be. And, so I understand the style, Borderlands is somewhere on the range between classic RPG (medieval-ish) and Firefly (modern Western/frontier)?

You're right, and you can also do a "punk elf/western grunge" look as well.

Okay, here's a matter which really needs clarification. This year, for some reason (Enthusiasm? Familiarity? Boredom? Bursts of Creativity? Don't know and doesn't matter. :)) I have folks larking about all over the place. which means, among other things, starting in various locations and skipping chapters.

So, as the already harassed plot author, here's what's up. If your team is starting anywhere for Chapter 2 but boarding the Floating Frenchman (which is the default,) the following things will happen:

Starting in the Seelie Court Since you have no introduction there, you have been transported to an unknown forest location near Bordertown. You can find your way there, but you will have more difficulty with the chapters concerning the Seelie Court, since they now don't trust you.

Starting in the Unseelie Court Unlike the Seelie Court, the Unseelies will welcome you with open arms, said arms having manacles and shackles, and you will be taken to holding cells, where you will be imprisoned to await your fate as "experiments" or "playthings." The Unseelie Court of this adventure is NOT NICE, not the least little bit!

Staring in Bordertown If you can get to the various junk heaps, you might be able to start assembling your vehicles of choice. However, you can expect a visit from the Bone Riders in full force, since you will not have had the Chapter 3 assistance of Tanaka and Kelian, so you can count on half or more of your team being injured and unable to help in that chapter.

At any rate, all of these will cost your team the points from the puzzle and RP presented in Chapter 2. (For those of you who are GoT shippers, the author's idea of "actions have consequences" works for me, also. :D) Your choice; I'm preventing losing more of my hair. :D

Comments and questions welcome as always!

I'm confused as to how anyone would end up anywhere but the Crossroads at the end of the RP. We must have some very creative people on board this year, uhoh! Lol
