New forum front page?

I feel weird posting this because I thought someone else would've by now. Does no one else's forum home page look like this? It's... okay if it's going to be an optional view but I'd like the original forums back, and I can't see any place to revert. Halp.
Edit: Neway, to elaborate more, it's good as a secondary way to view the forums but not as a main page. I prefer being able to see each forum and the most recent post in each; with this you only see new posts in the forums you're subscribed to. The list of forums on the side is rather bland and hard to locate anything in, plus it makes the page super long. A little over three Page Downs long for me. Overall kind of confusing and generic compared to the usual forums. Furthermore, it looks like this when I maximize my browser (most of Subeta's revamps have caused pages to look bad with my large resolution). Also, I tried removing all my pulse subscriptions and they wouldn't change.
Mine doesn't. Guess I don't get to be part of that beta test.
I personally wouldn't mind it. What worries me is all that space to the right that could be used for something, the same for that column in between on the left.
I've got it too. You're the first person I've seen who has it. Surprised there hasn't been more posts, but it looks like it might only be a select number of users who have it?
I HATE it. I've been iffy about a few changes on Subeta, but I don't think I've ever hated anything before. It's bland, produces an unnecessary amount of scrolling, and why the hell is forum pulse the focus here? Aside from the current lag issues (which are still present in this new look) there was nothing wrong with the forums.

That column of blank space actually won't be visible to the average user, I just maximized my browser to emphasize how Subeta's recent designs are not fully compatible for people with huge resolutions. Shoulda mentioned that in the original post so I'll edit it.
I have it, and I am not a fan of the layout, nor am I a fan of it being forced on me without warning and without a way to opt of of this testing. Also, once again I am wondering why Gold Account users aren't being asked to test this, as that's supposed to be a perk of having a Gold Account.
Yeah I was think something like that. I think the space on the right bothers me more. I hate big empty pages but also pages that extend past where they should end. I like the idea though of there being a list to the side. It's actually how I'd like the pets page to look. So that I can click on a pets name and all their info and options show up to the right of it, rather than waiting for the page to load all of them.

I also have to agree it is pretty ugly. Way too much (white) space.
Because this isn't really a beta test, it's an A/B test to see interaction and if more posting on the forums occurs with the (VERY SMALL) batch of people who have it. We can't do that with gold accounts because they already typically have greater interaction than normal users. This gives us a pool of users who are both GA and normal users.
If you have it you're one of ~100 users with it, and it'll likely go away in a day once it's collected enough information about your usage :)

Regardless of if it is or isn't a beta test, I stand by my opinion: Don't force your users to test something without any warning and without any way to opt out.
That's how you collect data. If you don't use the page it means we have data that you used it before and don't use it now. If you opt out that doesn't give us any usable data because it could turn out you'd be more active with the new page but "change" is a problem people have.
This is just how data science works and we've been doing it other places around the site, obviously nothing as big as the front page of the forums, but typically small pages so we can figure out how to place things. Your displeasure is noted, but we're going to continue working in this way.

I have it and I have to say I'm not a fan. Mostly because I'm not into the forum pulse thing at all, and considering that's the main focus, I basically just have a white page with everything listed down the left column. Basically just two columns on the left. : / And it's not like it's helping with speed or anything. Forums are still taking minutes to load, which really sucks.
I'd suggest adding some things to the forum pulse, from forums that you like, at least while you've got it during testing :)

I'm not really sure what this design accomplishes that the original forums didn't. I lurk on the forums a lot, occasionally checking out new posts in every section, but with this one I can only see new posts in the relatively small number of forums I'm subscribed to. That means I'll be looking at less stuff than usual unless I go out of my way to click on each forum category, or subscribe to pretty much everything. The deadish forums might get deader if no one adds them to their pulse.
That may be one way to collect data. However it's also a way to irritate your userbase. :)
Then we see interaction numbers drop from that user for a few hours and have actionable data.

I like the idea of it but... I would prefer for it to be switched: The pulse in the smaller sidebar area and the main forum list in the bigger area.
Im the type of person that likes things organized by type or topic. If the pulse will be the main portion of the forum homepage, it will bother me that it's not categorized by the section they belong in.
And the pulse list can get really long. Especially if your pulse settings has quite a few forums selected to pull from.
it needs a bit more colour too. so much white makes it's hard for me to look for a particular forum.
Now that I can see it on my screen I'm happy to not see so much empty space.
I'll play around with that. I was actually thinking of removing the sub forums from the side bar, even. My idea is that it makes the forums seem a lot more lively if the feed is pulsing a lot with topics being talked about (pushing you to go there) and if I make it so that the forum pulse is on my default (with all of the "regular" non chit chat forums) it'll get people seeing threads they wouldn't usually see.
I'll try switching the columns though and see what that looks like!
Also this will likely be an opt-in option (but on by default) :)
